Darth Drabek Posted February 23, 2006 Share Posted February 23, 2006 I'm playing through Jedi Outcast (also known as Jedi Knight II) right now. It has a really good story but it is a twitchfest...no question about it.....it has more in common with Quake than KOTOR, that is for sure. I have heard that Jedi Academy (also known as Jedi Knight III) has a much better gameplay (lightsaber forms, dual blade option, etc). Unlike JO, JA starts you off as a Force user. And Jedi Academy has minigames (such as swoop racing combat). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jedi Academy is fun, although I think the story isn't quite as good as Jedi Outcast. There are different saber types, like two sabers and double-bladed. There are different animations and effects from saber styles too, although I thought JO had the regular, fast, strong styles as well. It's defnitely a twitchfest. I can't beat the boss without cheating. I'm just not willing to get that good at it, when there's other fun games out there. I also don't repeatedly bang my head against brick walls. The swoop bike mission is VERY cool, and also very difficult. I am playing Empire at War right now(well, when I'm off my stupid job). It's a good Star Wars RTS game but nothing all that original. When you build units, they don't come out of a hangar or something. You need to call them, like reinforcements and then a dropship lands with your units. It takes a few seconds so you have to plan it right or you'll get crushed. The first mission(Rebels) has you protecting R2 & 3P0 with infantry while a swarm of AT-STs attack you, supported by legions of stormtroopers. If the official reviewer doesn't help, there are users that write reviews as well on the site. It's rated 8.5 by Gamespot and 9.0 by users on average. I would give it a 7.5 if it wasn't Star Wars but that adds a point.
