Jedihuh?
sorry my no olympic hockey wasn't directed toward you Kirottu, it was toward moreKOTORplz. and womens hockey has improved with leaps and bounds over the last 8 years. USA mens hockey will only come in with a gold medal or a medal in general if the players can pull together as a team and stop thinking on an individual basis. Canada is the same, the only time they can win is if they can put their egos aside.

SteveThaiBinh
I like lots of sports - the downhill skiing, the icedancing, the luge. I suppose I grew up watching the bobsleigh because it was often the only sport where Britain had semi-decent competitors and therefore the only sport the commentators didn't ridicule constantly. I would have thought the speed-skating would have attracted the same crowd that like motorcycle racing, as both have pretty spectacular crashes. It's also great that we can get the Olympics live on broadband. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." (Nina Kalenkov)

kirottu
Bronze medal from halfpipe! Yay! :D Though, I do think judges changed their standards a bit after first run. Delta Truth
I was surprised that there was no thread of the olympic games that just started in Turin <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Torino, not turin. I like watching winter Olympics, because finns actually have chances of winning in some sports. Btw, finnish women beat german women in icehockey yesterday. :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well its only Torino for the Italians and some of you Euros Well it would be nice to see if any of the other women's hockey teams improved but I'd be very skeptical when they play against Canada or U.S. I don't think it will be close at all Canada 16 Italy 0 good result but not good for the sport in general

Deraldin
*grumble* Damn those Chinese or Koreans. Didn't see who it was, but one of their skaters bumped the Canadian skater, Charles Hamelin, during the finals. *grumble* Aha! It was the Chinese! Only one of them was disqualified though so Canada finished fourth. I swear we have the most fourth place finished out of any other country... mkreku
I'm not particularly interested until the Olympic hockey gets underway. The best hockey in the world, once every fourth year! Where the games actually matter and you don't have to sit through 82 mostly pointless games just to get to the good parts! I've been watching a little speedskating (mostly because of the female skaters butts) and ski jumping. Those guys are insane. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish! Volourn
Eh? Best hockey in the world? That should explain all the 10+ goals vs zero we'd likely see. The Olympics ar eboring except when the 4-5 best teams play eahc other. In the NHL, even the worst teams can beat the best teams. The same cna't be said for the Olympics which has way more crappy players playing on crappy teams. Belerus anyone? LOLLERS! Olympic hockey is boring in comaprison, and is only wortwhhile to see all the bigots come out who cheer people simply b/c they're from the same country they other. That's why I normally cheer the USA; but this year it's Jagr and the Czech time!! Edited February 12, 2006 by Volourn DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250. Yeah, I think we'll have a repeat for this particular event this year. Also, apparently the only reason Italy even had a team this year was because they were hosting. Which is why they got beat so bad. The Russians had no excuse. Edited February 12, 2006 by Oerwinde The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity. LadyCrimson
X-country skiing, guy falls down at the start of the race (tangled up with others on the starting line), breaking a ski, he's dead last, everyone counts him out, and suddenly at the end of the race there he is, pulling up on the leaders like a freight train, to win the silver. I'm not a big sports fan in general, but moments like those are awesome. “Things are as they are. mkreku
Sweden took two gold medals today, both within 25 minutes from each other. Cross-country sprint medley (relay?), which was kind of neat. Although I mostly care about hockey medals it's nice to get a few gold medals in other sports too. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
