Atreides
How would you think players would react to playing evil in a familiar setting like D&D? I was at my friend's place a few days ago and watching some clips of Stubs (play a Zombie in a futurisitc 50s setting) was hillarious. Of course, that triggered some nostalgia of the Dungeon Keeper series. I'm not sure whether a humerous take on it (like Stubbs or DK) or a malevolent approach would be better. What do you guys think? Gabrielle
Chaotic Evil Barbarian? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> CE Fighter/mage. She had a thing for fire based spells and a sword that did fire damage.
Darque
Surprised, I am not And to keep this from moving to the realm of off topic-ness. An "evil" game wouldn't be possible in a DnD setting, given WotC's "guidelines" for that sort of thing.... or so I hear. A unique setting, or one from some other game line would be just as good though
BattleCookiee
So this would mean instead of making the story for goodie-goodiees and then allow the PC to do some bad stuff (BG, BG2) such a game is made for Evil guys from the start? Sounds good to me, playing evil is alot more fun that the good old hero stuff... Maybe they could allow you to play some lvlboss and kill party after party adventuring trying to kill you and help citizens for rewards and XP, while in this process gain a party of demons/devils etc.? Nick_i_am
you can only chop off peoples hands, soak them in oil then set them on fire so many times before it becomes boring. Well, I would assume so anyway, though i'm still counting. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)

BattleCookiee
you can only chop off peoples hands, soak them in oil then set them on fire so many times before it becomes boring. And that is why there should be plenty of alternative evil ways to kill somebody. Why kill person X just by slashing him, if you can first kill his entire family, burn his own company, drive over his dog with your car and then when he needs medication because he is depressed, you exchange the pills with poison? Judge Hades
One of my more rememberable characters was neutral Evil. Vici Von Zahn, a Fighter/Rogue/Necromancer who was an agent for the Cowled Wizards in Amn. She had a love for dead things and even was able to kill the paladin in the group *Twas an accident, I assure you) and made him an undead minion. Jorian Drake
I'm not so good in a 'freaky evil' char making, but one of my friends has made a Necrophile, pedophile, homo Necromancer...well thats too morbid for me My greatest evil char is now a half succubus female cambion who is Sorceress/Cleric of Cyric + I go for fiendish feats/seducement in developement of her. I have her since last year Mai...she is the only 'bad girl' I am continiusly playing. No other evil char I could play so long
Judge Hades
Vici also did assassinations, but was a little more artistic. She would get the target. Stalk it for days to get it paranoid, then torture to death the person's family and friends and animate them and command them to kill her target. Imagine if you will you are a merchant coming home from a long caravan run when your loving wife and two children with flesh bits rendered off lumbering towards you, clawing for your throat. You're the Keeper that constructs the dungeon by mining out the rock, gold etc to build a dungeon that attracts (paid) creatures. Eventually the heroes come knocking or you encounter rival keepers that need sorting out. A superb series thought I think it's reached a dead end in terms of creativity. Judge Hades
Due to a series of experimentations she was also able to channel negative planar energy through her as a conduit. I have never played a more evil character in my life. I had to read a lil' Edgar Allen Poe and H.P. Lovecraft to get into character.

Hurlshort
The NWN group I played with had quite a few people playing evil characters, although they tended to start out rather neutral and embrace their darker side as they got more powerful. We had Temple of Cyric and Bane hidden throughout the different servers. They were able to knock off a few pretty powerful PC's too, and it as all in good role playing fashion. Gromnir
for Gromnir, playing evil is... lame. tried to play evil in kotor2 and other games, but what we ended up being were a bully and a murderer rather than any sorta evil character that Gromnir might be willing to consider. push somebody down just 'cause you can? is evil? probably, but it is a petty kinda evil. find some way to plays an honorable and evil or sneaky evil might be worth trying, but so far all the evil options we has encountered has just been kinda lame.
