Lets just have them label all games Adult Only that way it will force parents to do their job and raise their kids, take responsibility for their children, and let that be that.

That's what I'm saying, if they decide to count all user made content as needing to be rated, even Reader Rabbit will be rated AO before you know it, even if someone makes a patch with nude furries just to piss off the ESRB.

Right on man, we shouldn't have to DL nude mods, they should already be included.

There was a nude model for Mona in Max Payne 2 you could use using cvars if you had the PC version, those were some of the most photorealistic jubblies I had ever seen. "

Ah, but that's the beauty of it. It was used in-game, but she had a towel on whenever you actually were in a position to see anything during that scene.

 

And Jack Thompson has stated explicitly that he wants to kill Rockstar, not just GTA.

That's just jack thompson not the rest of the public. there's a slight difference there...

 

 

And wouldn't this attempt to cause things that were user created to be the fault of the company cause marvel to win against City of Hero's? I mean if you look at the main reason marvel was trying to shut down COH was because users could create clones of the various Marvel, DC, manga, and other characters. Wouldn't holding Rockstar responsible for "Hot Coffee" be the same thing?

 

And why has nobody gone after God of War? that had a sex minigame in it at the very beginning... no user created garbage either.

And I can hardly imagine such a stupid rule being implented, which is except time consuming into the infinite, also just plain impossible (unless you give all a AO rating just to get rid of it)

id sue the esrb out of buisness if i had the money and 5 really good lawyers.

 

anyway its stupid, if a modder makes a nude model for anygame in preticular, its nobody's buisness not even the esrb, as the mod makers live world wide, and the game developers uselly have strict rules about posting screenshots of questionable content, like on some of RAndy's sex kittens at Beth's boards, the mods their will lock any thread that had any part of the nipple or any other naughty part of the body exposed or viewable, or even slightly covered.

 

the esrb has outlived its time, and they should be alittle more relaxed, though nudity is one thing, the dirty dead is another, a nude pc or npc is one thing, the actual sex part is another..........

I have zero problem with a committee deciding to offer ratings. They have that right. And there are consumers who want ratings. So long as the government stays out of the way and doesn't try to actually censor games, then I'm fine.

 

I think the Mature vs AO debate is pretty stupid. What is the difference between saying you should be 17 or 18 to play a game? I think this recent decision is silly and impossible to enforce equitably, but it might appease the angry watch-dog groups.

 

EA won't let games like the Sims get AO ratings even though they are moddable with adult content, so eventually I think someone will argue this whole policy. If Rockstar is smart they'll have their lawyers prepared to tee off on this.

The US is a country of contrasts.  I keep hearing people bashing America because all this censorship, but the fact is most of the best games come out of the US.  I can name maybe a habdful of quality games to come out of Europe in the last decade. 

 

I can, off the top of my head, name maybe six or seven US. presidents. This, according to Hurlshotian "logic" obviously means that there haven't been more than that number of presidents in office, or for that matter, in existence.

 

I mean, I could have just forgotten the names of the others, or I could just be, you know, very ignorant when it comes to the subject of US. presidency throughout the years, but... nah.
