EnderAndrew Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 The are four fruits in the Fruit of the Loom logo. There are two types of grapes, because grapes apparenlty deserve two spots. Then you have an apple, which makes sense. What the heck is the fourth fruit? http://www.fruitcountryvideo.com/
Kor Qel Droma Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 this was my first reaction http://www.tradewindsfruit.com/horned_melon.htm Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
EnderAndrew Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 Nice suggestion. Someone suggested to me that the yellow, bushy looking thing is supposed be fig leaves, but figs grow on trees, but bushes.
EnderAndrew Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 I thought the same for a moment, but instead of spikes, it is a bunch of leaves.
LadyCrimson Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 No claims about the accuracy of this information... History of Fruit of the Loom Inc. 1851 Benjamin and Robert Knight buy their first mill in Warwick, Rhode Island and beginproducing cotton cloth and textiles 1856 The B.B and R Knight Corporation adapt paintings of fruit by Miss Skeel, daughter of one of its customers, as printed labels for its cloth and the name “Things are as they are. Looking out into the universe at night, we make no comparisons between right and wrong stars, nor between well and badly arranged constellations.” – Alan Watts
EnderAndrew Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 Lady Crimson gets a cookie! The local morning radio show was stumped for a week and I don't believe they ever found the answer.
LadyCrimson Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I think that commercial ad is horrible, btw...for just a second, the leaf guy reminds me of an Ewok while he's playing the drums, too... “Things are as they are. Cantousent Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 You know, gooseberries do look a lot like grapes. It all makes sense now. EnderAndrew Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 I've never even heard of gooseberries.
Oerwinde Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I've never even heard of gooseberries. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My grandparents had a gooseberry bush in their back yard. They're like really big beige/yellow grapes The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
EnderAndrew Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 I had never heard of Tangelos either until we moved onto a property that had a Tangelo grove.
Petay Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Hmmm, the orange one either looks like a rotting orange or the back of a chicken
Child of Flame Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Have you heard of the best fruits of them all Ender? The Pluots! I don't know if they are available in Omaha, but in California, was with practically any other fruit between the Heartland and Mexico, they are plentiful and nummy. Also, they are quite pretty.
EnderAndrew Posted August 8, 2005 Author Posted August 8, 2005 I find California stores have a much greater variety in produce in general. Nebraska just has the best beef in the country, and arguably the world.
SteveThaiBinh Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Singapore has the greatest variety of fruits in the world, I think. I went to a cafe, and the list of different possible milkshakes covered a whole wall. I wonder if that fruit costume was designed not to look like anything in order to get people talking about it, thus increasing the effectiveness of the advert. This is indeed a matter of pride you see, as I did my time working on a ranch, and did in fact raise a Supreme Champion Steer, who then proceeded to sell for $15k.
Calax Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 best guess? a squash. But then I'm not entirely sure it's a fruit... Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.
Petay Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 best guess? a squash. But then I'm not entirely sure it's a fruit... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A squash?? It's a bit too hairy to be a squash IMO. I was thinking maybe its an apricot?
Walsingham Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I remember my first trip to the Far East, when I discovered that there were other tropical fruits than bananas and pineapples. I loved it. The Thais eat sliced fruit dipped in a mix of sugar salt and chilli. Fantastic. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. The finest steakhouses in the world all ship their beef from Omaha for a reason. Supposedly the only beef finer is Kobe beef in Japan. Yet the local Kobe steakhouse serves Omaha beef instead of Kobe beef. I asked the chef why, as I've never tried Kobe beef and wanted to. He said Omaha beef is just as good as Kobe beef.
Walsingham Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 If you like beef, take a trip to South Africa. I don't know how well it compares, but it is very cheap to eat. "It wasn't lies. Shryke Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 the only gooseberry i've ever seen is a kiwifruit (aka chinese gooseberry) when your mind works against you - fight back with substance abuse!
