KOTOR comic series this fall

Recommended Posts

Does this tie directly in to the KOTOR games? Or is it just set within that same time period, but no actual mention of the characters in the video games?

I recall also seeing that Drew Karpsishyn (I butchered his name) is writing a novel set around that period as well.

Looks like it's just set in the same time period. Even the logo is different.

Maybe if they didn't have it the same color as that robot that it meshes with...

But I'm more interested in the novel than the comics, mainly because the novels tend to be more realistic and interesting (note the phrase "tend to be", as in not always).

Let's hope they won't screw storyline.

GOA star wars novels suck when compared to comics. DH was always more competent than lucasbooks and their "crystal stars" and "jedi children"

HERMOCRATES:

Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks

of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned.

SOCRATES:

This I doubt. We are hearing a child's tale.

It's good you chose the two worst EU books to prove your point."

I notice you didn't mention the Thrawn Trilogy or Shatterpoint or something like that. :)

Wasn't there already a DH comic series called Knights of the Old Republic?

*Looks up internet*

Yep

{{/edit - 213374U beat me too it - but there's the proof anyway...}}

Odd. Anyway, nah, even if it isn't about Revan and co, if it's roughly the same period, then I would sure as hell be interested :(

Actually I'm slightly worried incase it was about Revan - if they attempt that then they'd have to make "certain decisions" about Revan (or any of the characters really), for every route there would be about 20,000 angry fans saying "You b*****ds! That's not how I played it! I stab at thee!"

Well LFL already decided Revan was male and a lightsider sometime back. In fact the guy on the KOTOR cover might be Revan as the head looks like one of the chosen one's in the game. Not to mention that head was also used for some of the previews of KOTOR.

Seems bioware liked that head. Tis why my Revan always has it.

KOTOR 2 must be completed

The whole Revan concept sucks, to begin with. I dunno know if DH will make proper tale about our beloved game... if Nuke's news aren't b....t of course, cause I haven't found any other information about this comic except cover art from some fansite that can be a fan-art...

GoA Shatterpoint was an exception that confirms the truth about SW novels.

The difference between Lucasbooks and Dark Horse is that 90% of Lucasbooks novels is a suckage, while only 10% of DH comics can be classified as a suckage...

I've read all novels and most of the comics so I have a comparison - and this is not only my opinion.

DH comics usually work around the main story, not just render it again. I doubt we will be seeing a comic book version of KoTOR or TSL

Nay, TOTJ were my first star wars comics so I have a huge sentiment towards them (like Kaftan towards Tranformers) but I've read almost everything DH published on star wars.

Hmmm... I've stopped collecting comics for a bit, but I might just pick this one up. Brian Ching is a fairly decent artist and I like him more than Duursema and Wheatley.

I also haven't been able to find any news of this anywhere else, which is strange. I really, really hope it's the real deal.

Thats a bit insulting to Kaftan.

No doubt they'll be another Qel Droma, probaly a princess or two, a grey character who eventually comes over to the "good" side, but only after having to deal with great emotional issues from their past, and a good character that becomes corrupted. Maybe even a lightsaber. You know the formula that has parted so many of you with your money before.

I wonder if their was ever a time in a galaxy far, far away where the Sith didn't pose an immediate threat, and the jedis just got to sleep or something.

Again, that's just your opinion, Nur. And that last blanket statement is kind of a weak thing to add, since you don't have "proof" that it's not only your opinion. It holds just as much weight as me saying the opposite.

Fact is, you're more than likely talking about two different audiences: the comic book lovers who will undoubtedly like the DH stuff better, and the book lovers who will like the novels better. Either way, both mediums have come up with some suck ass ideas. But to say 90% of the EU novels is crap, but only 10% of the DH comics....well just let me say "Reborn Emperor" "flying lobster" and "overpowered superman Sith Lord" to close. :shifty:

Of course I'm stating my personal opinion. Did I say otherwise?

Yes you did say otherwise when you added the "and I'm not the only one" or whatever at the end of your post.

Had you not included that inference that other's believed like you do, then there would have been nothing wrong with your post. But you added that part which made it sound like it's the opinion of more than just you, and unless you have actual links to prove it, then you are in fact stating more than just your opinion.
