mkreku
erm, cage fighting? mma? pancresh? just a wild stab in the dark... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> MMA is correct. Pride Championship to be more precise. Well done! What's with the beer belly? They need to work out more. Only the guy in red looks like a decent fighter. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The guy to the left is Alexander Emelianenko. He's a heavyweight who's steadily been climbing the ranks for the last two or three years. He is currently ranked among the top ten. The guy in the middle, Fedor Emelianenko (Yes, they are brothers), is the reigning heavyweight champion, and is considered by most as the best Pride heavyweight fighter of all time, despite his beer belly. I'm not sure yet, but his style, technique and sportsmanship has made him my favourite fighter. He is currently sporting a 21-1-0 record (The one loss came from a doctor's stoppage when he was accidently cut 16 seconds into a fight some years back). Some people also think he's a machine or a cyborg, developed by the russian army to scare the living crap out of the entire world. I'm still undecided. (Watch the Fedor - Randleman fight if you're wondering why people believe that). The guy on the right is Sergei Kharitonov. He is a young guy (only 23, I think), but only about a week ago he absolutely demolished the former UFC heavyweight champion Pedro Rizzo. Granted, Rizzo hadn't fought in two years, but Kharitonov made him look like a punching bag. UFC is the american version of MMA, and this brutal loss for Rizzo was not exactly good publicity for the UFC. Anyhow, Kharitonov is fearless, extremely well trained, has excellent hands and can hold his own on the ground. I believe he will be the biggest threat for Fedor in a couple of years. My third favourite is a croatian guy called Mirko 'Crocop' Filipovic (not in the picture). His trademark move is his left leg, or as he himself describes it (in broken english): "Right leg, hospital. Left leg, cemetary.". The ever growing line of hospitalized heavyweights who've met this guy in the ring would probably not argue against that rather cheesy quote (In his last fight, he kicked this huge russian guy in the ribs twice. The first kick sent the russian reeling. The second broke his ribs.). On August 28 Crocop will finally get his shot at the Pride heavyweight belt, as he will meet Fedor for the first time ever. It will be The MMA fight of the century. I can barely wait. Ps. As a side note: Andrei Arlovski is the reigning UFC heavyweight champion.. A russian dominating the american version too.. Edit: Something for the ladies + Volourn (they seem to like Arlovski's looks): Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish! Laozi
I'm a huge Houston Rockets fan from back in the Olajuwon days. Hopefully Yao will be able to get the math done and become a dominate player. I met him in person last year and you really have no idea exactly how big a person he is, not just tall, but just big. I love the Philly Eagles, I grew up an Oilers fan, and the Texans are growing on me. Baseballs the Houston Astros and the LA Dodgers. As for hockey I was an Avalanche fan, but I guess I more so rout for players, my favorite is Jeremy Roenick, no one takes a puck to the face like him. I like the Maple Leafs too. As for "Soft" football or soccer, I go for whomever doesn't have a giant corporate sponser on their jersy, so no one. People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
