Oerwinde
From what I've heard is that the Xbox games need to be recompiled to work on the Xbox360. So it will be similar to Playstation emulators on the PC, where you need a small file on your hard drive for each game to be able to run it. So the 360 will come pre-loaded with those files for their top selling games, and eventually they'll probably release the rest of the games over live. Anyway, I'll be going the PS3 at first, mostly for GTA4, MGS4, and Japanese RPGs. But apparently the 360 will be getting some JRPG support, plus the bioware support so I'll probably grab one of those when I can afford it. Reveilled
Nintendo for certain, and maybe a 360, depending on how the Backwards compatibility finally ends up working. I need my Zelda fix. Hawk! Eggplant! AWAKEN!
medevac99
XBox 360 for me - Bioware, Obsidian, Bethesda mainly the reasons why. Dragon Age is my choice for "Most Anticipated Game", but I know there is NO way it is going to run on my 4+ year old system. And I fear if I buy a new PC for DA that DA will be just about IT for new "must have" RPG's that won't appear on XBox 360.
Darth Flatus
I hope nintendo have a large quality line up of games at launch. All the killer apps must be available on release for it to be a success. As for which one i'd get... any one that has at least five games that i really like. In these era technological prowess is no longer a factor IMO. ShadowPaladin V1.0
Here's something interesting about the PS3 I read. It's long but good. (alt+ http://www.halo2sucks.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4841) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What you have to consider is that this technology is very new and while it wont be that worthwhile initially the console is going to have a span of 4-5 years. It's much like how the current generation play DVD's when the PS2 was released DVD's were quite uncommon over here. If you read the nintendo article MS have lost billions keeping the Xbox afloat so sony is likely doing the same in preperation. Besides we all know the cutting edge of technology is usually Tokyo and first and foremost the PS3 is a Japanese console. As Sony's interests also lay outside in the wider media fields it makes sense that the PS3 would have that sort of technology. I think someone called the 360 the exbox version 1.5 , because it's really not much more than a more powerful Xbox. Sony's ace to me would be the whole backwards compatibility to the PS which instantly means a huge range of high quality low cost titles once the launch titles die off and you get that inevitable long wait for the next wave of titles. The whole idea of having to sign up to live to make old titles playable ,especially if it costs like it does now dosnt appeal in the slightest. Why pay to play software you already paid for? I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. 478327[/snapback]

Gromnir
aesthetics of the box not concern us much, but the ps3 looks too much like our bose home theatre system... which does not appeal to our sense o' aesthetics neither. furthermore, japanese rpgs tend to be a bit... immature? got wacky stories and silly characters. *shrug* if current trends hold true, most o' the rpgs available for the ps3 will be japanese. crpgs and strategy games is what we play most. don't like shooters much. any news on whether they is finally gonna try to make some strategy games for the consoles? no? as such, the ps3 don't seem like something we will get much use out of... at least not for gaming. ShadowPaladin V1.0
Well, one of the 360's launch games looks VERY promising. Perfect Dark Zero. After what I've read on the net about it, it looks like one of the first games I'll be buying when I get a 360. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And once your done with it? You have a nice shiny doorstop for the next few months They also tend to be the sort of games I rent for a weekend and the rental scene will take a year or so to establish. It reminds me of the DS lots of stuff I'm waiting for. Very little that I want right now at the time of release. One advantage of the 360 is you likely wont have that localisation gap. Kalfear
I'll be getting the Xbox360 when it's gone down a bit in price. zer"0"
Most of the games I find interesting come out on PC. Still... If I do get one of these next-gen consoles, I'd get the Xbox360. :Perfect Dark Zero & Ninja Gaiden 2, also "Gears of War" looks amazing. And with Bioware, Obsidian, Epic and Bethesda also developing for Xbox360, I think it has great potential. Lastly I find most JRPGs/games very weird or disturbing and actively avoid that stuff. This means no SONY PS3 for me. my 0.02 cents.

Cantousent
Xbox is supposed to be cheaper. I just wonder if you'll need to buy special equipment to run DvDs with it. My current xbox serves as my DvD player right now. It's not that it's better than my previous one, but I sure as hell wasn't going to take the space for two things that did the same thing and my DvD player didn't run games. As it stands, that's probably the reason I won't get two consoles. I won't take the space for them. That Kingdom Heart thing Shadow Paladin talks about might be interesting, and he's pretty much sold me on trying FFX, but I'm not buying a console just to try a couple of games. If xbox gets them, then I'll try them. If not, then I'll have to enjoy PS3 games vicariously through others. EDIT: Okay, dammit, I fixed the "DnD player." Are you happy now?!?! Setzer
I'll probably end up owning all 3 systems at some point but the only one I'll buy at launch will be the PS3. It's all about the games and PS systems have always had the best game selection. Plus being able to play all my PS1 and PS2 games on it is a huge plus. Nintendo wants to push the whole being able to purchase and download old NES and SNES games on its Revolution system. I can do that now and not pay anything for it. Brickyard
As a PC gamer, I'll likely end up with ONE of the new consoles, unless I get the others as gifts. My 2nd choice will always be Nintendo, because of the Zelda titles. Too bad there's not another Nintendo game that I really want to play, cause I missed out on the latest gen Zelda games. But if I got a 2nd one, Nintendo would be it. As for 1st choice, I really can't see it being anything other than the PS3. Looking at the current XBOX, there's only 1 game that's XBOX-only that I'd like to play but can't, and that's Jade Empire. And if I didn't buy a Nintendo console to play just Zelda (which I'd rather play more than Jade Empire), then I'm not going to buy an XBOX for Jade Empire, especially hearing how short it was (however good it was, short is bad). I've already got about 2 dozen PS2 games, so PS3 sounds good there, and the main game I have on my PS2 is Gran Turismo, which I'm pretty sure is PS2 only. So I figure GT 5 will be PS3 only. If for some strange reason, in the future, Bioware, Obsidian and Bethesda start releasing all their games for XBOX-only, odds are my first reaction will be that I'd be really upset with all of them. Then I might (or might not) break down and buy an XBOX. But probably not. And I won't get a PS3 until the price drops some, and at least one major title I want to play is out.
