the only time ive ever seen something more funny than that was when i saw an old man trip over his walker off a highway over pass.

the pic sucks by the way. absolutely dreadful

The speech-bubble joke isn't terribly funny. Actually, it isn't at all funny. But the way they're standing together like they're chatting in the queue for the supermarket checkout, and Malak with his arms crossed like he's in a huff, raised a smile at least.

The thumbnail looks kinda like Picard. That's kinda funny, maybe.

I wonder what attracts people to anime.

Is it for the "beautiful" eyes...

Pre-teens like seeing all the boobs they can, drawn or not. Proven fact.

Speaking of funny, I stumbled across this:

true that, only pre-teens and pederasts could possibly like anime

Lois: Honey, what do you say we uh...christen these new sheets, huh?

Peter: Why Lois Griffin, you naughty girl.

Lois: Hehehe...that's me.

Peter: You dirty hustler.

Lois: Hehehehe...

Peter: You filthy, stinky prostitute.

Lois: Aha, ok I get it...

Peter: You foul, venereal disease carrying, street walking whore.

Lois: Alright, that's enough!

Hive, that was hillarious :p

For the most part. That one where the vampire's hand eats a bunch of dirt is ridiculous, but not necessarily all that bad.

It seems to me the first generation of mainstream anime viewers in North America has grown up, and have become anti-anime in their adulthood. Mostly, I find this refreshing, as I did for the most part find the irrational anime fandom among my fellow nerds during the '90s frustrating. I couldn't grasp how a huge demographic of film viewers could become so completely oblivious to the comparative quality of the products of an artform (there really was a large portion of the anime fanbase who would declare any anime whatsoever to be good and to be entertaining, absolutely regardless of its quality of writing or intended audience, as long as it was anime).

And I prefer mass artistic cynicism to mass artistic non-judgmental fanboyism and race-fetishisation. I'm glad the if-it-comes-from-Japan-it-MUST-be-good mentality is dying down a bit.
