I didn't look through the entire thread, but this may be a new glitch.

Lightside Consular/Watchman in the cave on Korriban. I beat the shades of Kreia, my group, and Revan, got the speech about it being a reflection of my past and a possible look into the future, blah, blah. I get a lightsaber.

I open the tomb, walk in and inspect/loot the body. The tomb doors close again while I'm inside. I can still get to the selection area to reopen the tomb, and I do.

Once I do, Kreia contacts a second time, giving me the same past/future speech. When it was over, I got a second (short) lightsaber.

Sum up: The glitch was getting the second dialog and lightsaber.

First I will say, what a great game!! I am thoroughly enjoying it.

So far I have experienced only minor discrepencies and glitches, nothing serious. I have run into one confusing thing that I believe to be a bug or at least a mistake. Visas (or however you spell that name) has all the earmarks of a Dark Jedi but she registers on the stat screen as being one point below LS mastery! This really confused me in the beginning until I just figured it had to be a bug/mistake since she certainly doesn't *act* like an LS Jedi. Anyway that is pretty much it.

Actually, as I understand it, that is the Exile's effect over her as you gain influence.

It works the same way if you play DS. Your LS characters become more evil.

Well, I am not yet totally clear on how the whole influence system works but I will say that I doubt I could dig Visas out of the pit of darkness and elevate her to the pinnacle of light immediately after I meet her and have one (albeit long) conversation with her. She registers as strong lightside *immediately* after I meet her. Even more confusing though - when I do things that get me more LS points and should favorably influence any LS party members, I *lose* influence with her. It just doesn't make any sense. I don't even know how to spec her now because I am not sure if she will get a DS or LS penalty on her force powers... Any help would be appreciated.

That's no bug.... Visas can be turned 'light' in a single long conversation.....

ScheinNightfire: It sounds like you're past this, but . . . if you go to the party Add/Remove screen you can just add Atton and Kriea to your party so you don't have to solo Telos after B4-D4. It's annoying, but easy enough to fix.

I've come across some of the other bugs mentioned in this thread (Atton not turning around and the T3-M4 dialogue skippage) but I haven't seen this one yet.

SPOILER-ish below.

This occurred on Dxun, while trying to get Kumus off the ledge with Visas and Disciple in my party. I get him down, say something nice to him, and send him back to the camp. The Disciple then interjects with a few lines that end up in an influence gain, but the influence goes to . . . Atton? You can't even take him off the ship the 1st time on Dxun.

Ok... well I suppose that would be fine *if* she didn't continue to act like a DS Jedi after that. In the Cantina on Onderon she tells me that a well placed grenade would get rid of the undesireables as well as the soldiers, if I forbid it I lose influence with her. When the two aliens are having the discussion about Vaklu and Talia, I lose influence again when I side with Talia. So I just can't figure it out. She says things that a DS Jedi would say, she wants me to make DS choices and I lose influence with her when I don't but on her character screen she is literally *one* point below LS mastery! If this is the way it is *supposed* to be then... someone wasn't thinking clearly, this is just confusing.

There are a lot of things wrong with this game.

Before you say, "Duh!"...

What I mean in this instance is that the storyline and the game design are almost exact opposites and this is part of the reason there are so many bugs and glitches, believe it, or not.

The storyline is basically a DS storyline that addresses the "Grey" side of the Force and your character is forced -- no pun intended -- To do DS deeds in order to complete some quests.

A perfect example of this Lootra's Wife on Nar Shaddaa. You can't free her unless you intimidate the Exchange guards and kill them. Well, unfortunately, this is viewed by the game as a DS act and therefore you take a DS hit. This wouldn't make that much of a difference if you already have a high LS mastery (or are working toward it)... But it complicates things because:

1) You can't role play a completely LS character no matter how you try. And not just with this quest either. Therefore, it does make achieving LS mastery harder, but not in a challenging way, but in a frustrating, game-design flaw way.

2) The Influence system is affected depending on who or whom you have in your party at any given time and place. You can loose or gain Influence depending on your actions which complicates playing a totally LS or DS character (achieving Mastery) as well.

Also, the other big flaw with the Influence system is as described above:

You can play a DS character and turn all of your NPCs into Dark Jedi... Yet they STILL exhibit LS tendancies.

An example is Handmaiden on Onderon in the Cantina fight. She may have complete DS Mastery... Yet she will tell you can't harm any of the civilians in the Cantina and if you disagree with her... You take an Influence hit... Which shouldn't be a problem in the first place since by now your entire party *should* be reflective of your own Force affiliation... Just like Visas if we take the storyline element of the Exile being able to shape everyone's will and views.

I know this is more of game limitation because to make NPCs truly DS, they would have had to record even more hours of dialogue (twice as much for both sides)... But I think it would have been worth it as the lack of how your NPCs react to their newfound alligiance really shatters the illusion that OE is trying to go for.

The other, major, flaw in the Influence in my opinion is that too much of the real backstory is hidden it... Namely Kriea... And if you don't gain influence with her, you basically don't know what is *really* going on.

I know gamers will argue that they don't like things spoon-fed to them... But in this case, I think OE should have found some alternate way to relay the backstories more in a straightforward manner if you decide NOT to persue it through Kriea who is so obviously evil from the start you have no choice but to take DS hits in order to get her to open up. Again, here is where the storyline and the game mechanics are working against one another and why this game feels really disjointed and like a complete mess.

Also...

Most of the incomplete quest bugs that you guys are mentioning (and I do keep up with every single post in this thread) are because they had to cut out the entire ending(s) and I will make an educated guess that if the game had shipped intact, we wouldn't be getting as many (if any at all) quest bugs that either stay incomplete in your journal, and or actually have ways to complete them in game.

in the cave on koriban (going in as a max light side character) no matter which options i pick in the dialogue with the malak vision i get a huge chunk of dark side points, not sure if this is intentional or not but it's damn annoying because i dont want to get dark side points i need my +3 con

deifnitely a bug: i get to a smidgeon of life left when all the jedi with malak are attacking me and get a message about how the last blow didnt kill me but i feel as if part of me is missing or some such, then it tells me i died and need to load and the screen shows me falling down and dying over and over

also: when i'm done with the cave nothing happens and i can't get out, have restarted the game from before the cave about 5 times now (tried different options with malak while i was at it but still get the dark points no matter what i say or do) and every time the area is cleared there's a pause like a conversation is supposed to start, but nothing happens. the door out is locked and when i run back to the start of the cave i can't get out that way either.

oh and on onderon when fighitng to save the queen there are 2 doors, marked with green on the map to signify they're really doors with rooms behind them that are only accessible through said doors, which i can't target. it's like they're walls, but they're doors that lead somewhere where i can't go because i cant target the door to open it. apparantly nothing vital to the plot behind the doors since i saved the queen just fine anyway, but it's a little annoying too to see 2 rooms on your map you cant get to because it acts like the doors aren't there.

also on onderon the slicer twilek guy doesn't actually talk his text flashes by in written form too fast to fully read and there's no voice acting to it. Have had similar problems in conversations between my party members especially with atton it'll flash to him text will appear for about half a second or less, i can't read it fast enough and he doesnt actually speak...

stay tuned for the next installment :p

I've played the game now as LS and DS and encountered in both of them the alignment bug for the party members. Whenever they gain LS/DS Mastery and i enter a new area with them, their alignment goes back a little so the mastery is gone. After removing and then reselecting them with the party menu they gain the mastery back until i transit to the next area. But it also seems that the bonuses from mastery are not applied to the NPCs on the statistics.

PS: Just wanted to mention it although it might be already posted earlier

i didn't care to read all fifteen pages of this post, so excuse me if this has been stated before, but on Telos in the Jedi Academy, I have a glitch where when Kreia and Atton are talking you can't see Atton. The camera focuses on an empty prison cell.

Here's the huge bug I posted on another thread.

I have a really powerful laptop. It's specs are:

3ghz Pentium 4 proccesser

640mb of RAM

Radeon Mobility 9000 with 128mb of RAM

Do you need to know more? Just ask. Anyway Trying to play the game, it runs at 1 frame per second, maybe ever worse!!! It's a slide show, not a game. It doesn't crash or anything, but it is unplayable. Now I've been reading of people with worse being able to play it better. I have put all settings to low, all to high, turned each on on and off individually, restarting after each change, no difference. I've gone through the .ini file, and I've tried that last effort thingy, nothing. No change at all. Even the front menu is a slideshow, cause of the dude. I've tried installing the latest drivers for my Radeon, Latest Catalyst Drivers, then I tried Omega Drivers, which supposedly are better for gaming. No change at all. Any suggestion, I bought this game right when it came out...cause I'm desperate to play. And I'm no amateur with computers, but none of my old tricks are working. Whats up? And yes, My radeon is past the minimum requirements.

And don't give me any of that is your desktop resolution the same as in game? crap cause you all know that never works. But yeah, I've tried all that stuff too.

Not a member on this board? e-mail me aldonn_clone@hotmail.com

I don't care who you are, so long as you tell me what i need to know.

i used to have a ajp pentium 3.06mz,1G ram,128mb video ram,ati 9000 graphic card and i managed to play KOTOR 1 on it

Holy $**t!!! I actually managed to play thru the entire game without a complete lockup, corrupted save game, or other bug that managed to kill it completely!! Absolute minimal save games (aside from the auto-saves), and many hours of sitting it front of the computer playing non-stop. After all the trouble and all the irritations I faced to play this game thtough, the ending is incredibly lackluster. I simply cannot fathom any company having an ending this . . . . . . pathetic . . . . even if it IS an unfinished game. For those of you who haven't gotten all the way thru, don't expect anything fantastic, and for those of you who are simply playing it to see the ending, heh, well, I'd worry about enjoying the game on the way TO the ending.

I did a thread search for "Bao-Dur" and didn't get back any results, so I'll assume that this hasn't been posted. My apologies if it has and I simply missed it.

Bao-Dur's unarmed combat feats (Repulsor Strike, Electrical Strike, and Gravitonic Strike) appear to be broken. The Feat descriptions says that they stack with the default unarmed combat feats, however this does not appear to be the case. At level 26, Bao-Dur does 8-23 damage, unarmed (1-4 damage for Unarmed Specialist 1 and 4-16 damage for Unarmed Specialist IV plus a +3 STR modifier). With Gravatonic Strike, this should be 11-41 (8-23 plus 3-18).

If you start about KOTOR2's bugged combat stats, I got a lot more (accidentely found, if you specifically looking for these, you find dozens):

Wrong combat stats in the combat logs...

Master Speed and Force Armor don't work together like they should

Equiping a second blade in the off-hand gives the mainhand a damage penalty (don't ask me why)

If you use Critical Strike you will hit a lot more than using a normal attack (while it only should be for critical strike roll improving, not hit...)

You can have a Master Speed cast causing Flurry+Master Speed+ Dual-bladed lightsaber damage...

Impossible locks displaying *security failed* and after 10+ tries you look in the stats and you see they have a DC of 255

Do you think this is because they took the level cap off and because the BAB progression isn't correct for the Prestiege (and normal) classes as well?

If you're LS and die in the cave when facing those ghosts, you get DS points.

As for the part when you confront Kreia and your other crew, there is a bug and the only way to complete it is to choose the neutral path, which is to stand back and watch. Be ready for a difficult fight since all your crew will attack you and if you, like me, have converted all potential Jedi, they'll use those powers against you :D

Athalon 2500+ Geforce4

I've encountered 3 bugs so far:

1) Swoop racing: Aftrer my first race, which was fine, any time I get on a swoop the swoop flies ABOVE the track. Although this helps with obstacles I can't hit any accelerator pads.

2) Dantooine: When leaving the hangar my movement becomes really slow, then it stops, then miraculously I've been teleported right over the other side of the map.

3) Building a lightsabre: OK I've got everything except for a lens ... so what do I do? I build a lens on the bench. But Bao-Dur still says that I don't have one....

Help!

-Mira can't be turned into a Jedi.

I have gained 90 influence on her (checked using the Save Game Editor) and I get a dialogue loop regarding her Family and Malachor V. I am positive this is where I need to take this dialogue tree (after that) to get her to be a Jedi, but I can't do it due to this major glitch.

-You can't complete the Family off Nar Shadda Quest. When you go talk to Fassa -- Even after you've destroyed Goto's Yacht -- He still says he can't get anyone off the planet until you've taken care of Goto and his hijackings.

I don't have the option of having the Ithorian take the family because his quest was completed before I even entered the refugee sector (I know the various options this one has; you have to convince the Ithorian to not leave the family behind if you go this route).

---

I've basically stopped playing this game and am only doing spot-checks on things I left behind on various playthroughs because it is so baddly bugged it's not even a finished game in any way shape or form. Quests that can't be completed and dialogue loops are things that QA should have spotted EARLY on and EASILY by simply TRYING to mess up the game by selecting every possible combination while you're "logged" into one of the quests or dialogue trees.
