Crusader Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Pepsi! got addicted to it during my freshman year. nicely heals my throat
213374U Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Nuka-Cola, the flavored softdrink of the post-nuclear world. Warm and flat. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Juha Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Coke leaves a bad aftertaste which Pepsi doesnt. But it is really quite different. Depends on the mood. When you want hardcore you take coke [with rum], when you want something nice you take pepsi.
NeverwinterKnight Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 im surprised at the landslide vote for coke. im a pepsi drinker.
EnderAndrew Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 From a sales perspective, Coke always won the cola war.
NeverwinterKnight Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 theres a lot of silly people out there then.
EnderAndrew Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Rum doesn't taste right in Pepsi. That's the true mitigating factor.
NeverwinterKnight Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 rye's better. but yes, it does go better in coke. although since all i had at my place was pepsi i had to make do with crown royal and pepsi.
EnderAndrew Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Crown Royal? At least you don't drink cheap liquor.
NeverwinterKnight Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 crown royal, sometimes canadian club, depending on whatever the specials are at the liquor store. my old roommate had a special talent for finding cheap deals all over town. :D
EnderAndrew Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 From what I understand, liquor is fairly expensive in Canadia unless you find a duty-free store.
NeverwinterKnight Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 define expensive. i usually could get my 750ml bottle of crown for under $20. it usually came with one of those tiny bottles and a velvet pouch as well. i also went to school in windsor, so theres a duty free shop right down the street from my place and wed just sneak under the big tractor trailers that were going over to detroit and go in to the duty free shop for even cheaper booze. :D
EnderAndrew Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Crown Royal is something like $23 USD, so $20 Canadian sound about right. However, I hear it's taxed heavily up there.
NeverwinterKnight Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 15% tax for pretty much everything (except some food, i believe).
PrincessSarah Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 The booze is stronger up in Canada too. I realized this the hard way when we went home 2 years ago and I downed 2 Smirnoff Ices like I would down here. Heh. Proud purveyor, owner and operator of the Wonder Twins
Child of Flame Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Indeed! Coke is heaven in a glass with bubbles! BTW, whoever heard that coke will dissolve bone was having his leg pulled. However... :D ... put a small amount of raw meat in a glass of coke and it WILL be cooked within a few hours. Honest to God! I try not to think about that whilst enjoying my favorite cola drink. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You know, that could be hazardous to a n00b's health if they were dumb enough to try it...RIGHT ON! It's the way tea is meant to be, Di! One day, you too will join the Sweetened Side of the Force! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tea is meant to be GREEN!
PrincessSarah Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 I drink Chai tea, or tea with milk and suger. As far as iced tea, I loooove sun tea. (Big glass jar with water and a bunch of tea bags, set it out in the sun all day, chill and serve!) Proud purveyor, owner and operator of the Wonder Twins
PrincessSarah Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 15% tax for pretty much everything (except some food, i believe). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Alberta just has the 7% GST, with no PST. :D I think one of the maritime provinces has something like 21% sales tax or something insane like that. EnderAndrew Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Imagine paying 21% sales tax on your house, or car. Egad.
draakh_kimera Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Heh, be happy you don't live in Sweden. This friggin socialist bordering on commie country has insane taxes... 25% on all goods IIRC My dad, who's a doctor, pays about 60% income tax Taxes on houses in popular summer places have grown to levels which have forced people that live there year round to move away from their homes, often built by previous generations. I'm done ranting about taxes. For now.
EnderAndrew Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Places like Nevada (with legalized gambling) have practically no state income tax, and no sales tax.
PrincessSarah Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Montana either has no sales tax, or no income tax. I can't remember which one. Proud purveyor, owner and operator of the Wonder Twins
