Oerwinde Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 So I bought some brownie mix. The package contains 900 ml of mix. The recipe calls for 675 ml of mix. Leaving me with 225 ml of mix. Meaning I don't even get enough left over to make an extra batch when I buy two packages. I have to buy 3 packages of mix, to be able to make use of the leftover mix. I know its marketing genius, but does anyone else get angry at evil ploys like this? This is similar to my anger over nutrition information, where the can contains like 400 ml, and one serving is like 325 ml or something stupid like that. Edit: Mix. Mix mix. Mix mix mix. Mix. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
EnderAndrew Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 What is the odd metric system you speak of?
Grandpa Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 THOSE DAMNABLE QUAKERS!!! NAZIS!!! ALL OF THEM!!! Actually, I had never noticed. I usually just would add a little extra liquid (milk mostly) to make up the difference in dry powder to liquid ingredients. It's worked so far.
Oerwinde Posted December 14, 2004 Author Posted December 14, 2004 What is the odd metric system you speak of? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh, its quite ingenius, its based on units of ten, instead of random numbers. The area between the balls and the butt is a hotbed of terrorist activity.
Cantousent Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Numbers in measurement weren't random. EnderAndrew Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Why should everything be in measurements of ten? No one likes octal? Oct 31 is the same thing as Dec 25. Ever think of that? Huh?
Gorth Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Numbers in measurement weren't random. try asking a developer how long it takes to write a class/function/method whatever... “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice.” - Albert Einstein
Cantousent Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 My point isn't that metric is inferior. My point is that the numbers weren't random. EnderAndrew Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Apparently no one likes math humor. But let me tell you, real friends don't let friends drink and derive.
Grandpa Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Apparently no one likes math humor. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Except the British, who still use measurements of stone.

SI units are ALWAYS metric units and were set as the 'official' measurement system for science a while ago. Metric system=win. Boss: You're fired. You forget though that the building they work and reside in was built by stabdard measurement, at least all the ones are where I come from. Looks like we are back to square one. On subjet though that is done with almost every thing made in the food industry.

Mix. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How about you re-calculate your recipe, stating that if 675 equals 900, then you multiply every component by 1,33 and your recipe should work. That way you make the most of your brownie mix
