JediEastwood Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 I was wondering if I should expect any problems when using a ATI X300 video card when playing both KOTOR I / II, or should I get a better card? I don't want to go spend lots of $ and find out my favorite games don't even work...
Bastilla_Skywalker Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 I can solve your computer problem easily and cheaply....Buy an Xbox! it is less expensive and you dont have to up grade ever and you also don't have to do this and that like you have to do with a computer Xbox Press Teh Button
Jarx Xun Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 And now for some real help! Well actually I am not sure either.... Do you have Kotor I? I assume you don't otherwise you wouldn't be asking for it. Cause if Kotor I runs Kotor 2 will run about the same I figure. I'm not too knowledgeable about ATI cards unfortunately. What can you play on it?

That's an alternative. I think he was implying that he was looking for a solution, not an alternative.

oherror Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 i wouldn't expect any problems with your ati card...if you do have issues its most likly your drivers. You can go here: www.omegadrivers.net to get drivers that will work.
JediEastwood Posted November 14, 2004 Author Posted November 14, 2004 I have KOTOR I and am currently using an ATI 9600 All-In-Wonder Pro... I don't want a Xbox because computers have many overall advantages, like graphics and content... While playing KOTOR I on my current card it always gets all glitchy after a while and would like to know if upgrading my card to a X300 or a X800 on my new PC I plan on getting will solve the problem for KOTOR I and prevent any problems with KOTOR II...
Delerius_Jedi Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 Well, I talked to Akari on PM and according to him, they've fixed most of the troubles in the engines, like the level-crash but, semi transparency and such. So according to him, the game is running fine on both Nvidia and ATI branded cards, with the latest official Catalyst driver (4.10). So, you should be all set
Barzarel Posted November 14, 2004 Posted November 14, 2004 Well i dont really think you need that big a graphic card if you update your drivers. I still run with Geforce Ti 4600 and i havent found anything i cant run, even doom3 runs well on my machine, so i doubt that you have to worry on getting best of best graphic card.

OO lets just say X-Box sucks if all you want is limited operating system capabilities, and anything short of Halo 2
