They got an advanced copy of The Day After Tomorrow script and thought it sucked so bad AND they hated the fact that the Thunderbirds movie wasn't using Marionettes, so they decided to make The Day After Tomorrow with puppets and release it the same day as The Day After Tomorrow, but ran into legal problems so they just decided to just make a Jerry Bruckheimer-esque action movie with puppets. And in true Stone/Parker style, offend as many people as possible with un-pc comedy. Reports from the set say that the crew has a hard time keeping a straight face. Phosphor Posted August 5, 2004 Posted August 5, 2004 I gathered that was the intent but the trailer doesn't exactly indicate how that is being accomplished. There's no satire in that trailer, really. *shrug* Probably be a good rental sometime.
