OLD SKOOL WHEELMAN Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 Chris Parker: The number of characters that can be controlled at any one time is three, just like in KOTOR. There are quite a few characters that are available to join your party, but not all of them will be available to every player. That is, some characters will only be available to a light side character, and some only to a dark side character. The maximum number that anybody can have joined with them at any time is currently 10, but some of the mechanics for them are being tinkered with, so that might change. There will be other returning characters playing various sized roles. Some are coming back in cameo-type appearances while others will be able to join your party again, just like T3. There are a few characters that simply aren't coming back because we didn't feel they would play a significant role in the story, and so we replaced them with new characters that could fill those important roles. Hope, at last! We'll have a much better feel on a specific release date once we achieve alpha, but we're still currently set to ship in winter. The PC and Xbox versions are at exactly the same stage right now, with the exception of a few PC-specific bugs, so we're confident that we can launch them simultaneously. We're not currently planning to release a demo for the Xbox or PC versions. Fine with me...
Wraith Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 seems they are saying that there just polishing things up right now until the release well I say keep polishing
Meshugger Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 They're already close to alpha stage, which leaves a roughly 4-5 months of bugtesting. The december date seems more plausible now "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy
Zmeelov Posted July 9, 2004 Posted July 9, 2004 I have one question...forgive me if it was already asked before... вut whats the maximum level the player can reach in TSL???
nightcleaver Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 30, or NO CAP AT ALL, is what I heard - depending on game balance, of course.
The Omnifarious Host Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 I heard no cap. The devs want people to be able to continue to level up. How else are we going to be able to take advantage of all those new feats unless they take the cap off the level system.
alanschu Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 I heard a cap of level 30. And the way to take advantage of all those new feats is by having you play a character a different way...not to have one character have all the feats.
nightcleaver Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 I heard a cap of 30, but they were looking at removing the cap completely after they had seen how the game balanced. It looks like they're going to try to evade excessive levelling and the Army of Diablo phenomenon, but also avoid the Star Forge issue. Basically, they don't know yet - it depends on factors that are probably yet to be seen, as they haven't reached the beta stage. (but they're close)
Zmeelov Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 thanx for answers:)оne more noob question for those who knows:) will I be able to start a game as a sith, or only as a jedi?
SilverSun Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 The Sith are hunting you. You're the last Jedi they know of. Pry can't join the sith at all but there's pry more the once chance at the start to start racking up DS points if you want to play as a Dark Jedi.
Zmeelov Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 but there are such classes as sith marauder, assasin, etc. in the game... what about this???
SilverSun Posted July 10, 2004 Posted July 10, 2004 Those are classes you gain later in the game based on your actions/stats. They're name pry has nothing to do with actually joining the sith.
FireWolf Posted July 11, 2004 Posted July 11, 2004 Nothing wrong with the Sith. Fine upstanding fellows.
Tyrell Posted July 11, 2004 Posted July 11, 2004 They're already close to alpha stage, which leaves a roughly 4-5 months of bugtesting. The december date seems more plausible now Cool, that means TSL gets to compete with Fable for RPG of the Year. If they push it to 2005, then they compete with The Legend of Zelda and Windwaker 2 for RPG of the Year. Lose/Lose situation for Obsidian. But its not about the awards, its about making the fans happy. PlayMoreConsoles TheForce.net
alanschu Posted July 11, 2004 Posted July 11, 2004 How on Earth do people know if this game is in Alpha or Beta or whatever???
Archmonarch Posted July 11, 2004 Author Posted July 11, 2004 The interview says theyre almost alpha. And I find it kind of funny I find it kind of sad The dreams in which I'm dying Are the best I've ever had
