Why Bio Why?

Who?

Yep. Looks like the Godfather indeed made Brando the ultimate offer he couldn't refuse.

I hope the author whom has a book coming out chronicling Brando's downfall feels pretty lousy right now.

Why would he feel lousy? Brando was an ass.

i think "eccentric" is a word often used to describe him... very odd character.

taks

comrade taks... just because.

A shame, it is. I believe i'll watch Colonel Kurtz again tonight.

wow, what a nice way to remember the guy.........

anyway, he was great in the godfather movies. gonna be missed

Brando's portrayal of Marc Antony in Joseph Mankiewicz's film of Julius Caesar was phenomenal. He really brought something edgier to the role, and it worked wonderfully.

He was an intense actor, although he had some duds as well, and was a royal PITA to work with.

Why Bio Why?

Those last two qualities are likely applicable to 99% of all actors.

The oddest thing I just bought the Godfather DVD collection yesterday and watched the Godfather last night (first time in a couple of years). Pachino is really good as the Godfather in 2 and 3, but Brando was the Godfather as far as I

Life is like a clam. Years of filtering crap then some bastard cracks you open and scrapes you into its damned mouth, end of story.

I heard a story that when Brando was in The Score, it took five times as long to film his scenes that anyone else because he was constantly drunk, abusive to the crew, and refused to acknowledge the director directly. He referred to the director, Frank Oz, as Yoda, or puppet-boy.

I've never found Brando to be a great actor. I'd take Pacino over Brando any day.

I'm with you on that one, Ender.

I dunno, sounds like a crack up to work with, so long as you don't get on his bad side! ;)

In a lot of ways, that's just Hollywood. Actors being drunk or wasted on set is nothing new. I've never done a Hollywood movie, but I wouldn't put up with that kind of crap when I did stage acting. It's a disservice to the great efforts everyone else around you put it.

Likewise. People hail Apocalypse Now as his best work. Did he even know where he was? He slept through the entire movie.

I just watched a replay of a Larry King interview with him last night. I think Brando was partially insane.
