Karzak Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 That fake indian that turned down his oscar for him was a hottie! Let's keep the T&A in FanTAsy ***Posting delayed, user on moderator review*** Why Bio Why?
Phosphor Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Yep. Looks like the Godfather indeed made Brando the ultimate offer he couldn't refuse. I hope the author whom has a book coming out chronicling Brando's downfall feels pretty lousy right now.
Drakron Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 I hope the author whom has a book coming out chronicling Brando's downfall feels pretty lousy right now. Well at least he have a ending chapter now ...
Karzak Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 I hope the author whom has a book coming out chronicling Brando's downfall feels pretty lousy right now. Why would he feel lousy? Brando was an ass. Let's keep the T&A in FanTAsy ***Posting delayed, user on moderator review*** Why Bio Why?
taks Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 i think "eccentric" is a word often used to describe him... very odd character. taks comrade taks... just because.
Diogo Ribeiro Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 A shame, it is. I believe i'll watch Colonel Kurtz again tonight.
Raven Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 I hope the author whom has a book coming out chronicling Brando's downfall feels pretty lousy right now. Why would he feel lousy? Brando was an ass. wow, what a nice way to remember the guy......... anyway, he was great in the godfather movies. gonna be missed
Phosphor Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Brando's portrayal of Marc Antony in Joseph Mankiewicz's film of Julius Caesar was phenomenal. He really brought something edgier to the role, and it worked wonderfully.
Karzak Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 He was an intense actor, although he had some duds as well, and was a royal PITA to work with. Let's keep the T&A in FanTAsy ***Posting delayed, user on moderator review*** Why Bio Why?
Phosphor Posted July 2, 2004 Posted July 2, 2004 Those last two qualities are likely applicable to 99% of all actors.
Karzak Posted July 2, 2004 Author Posted July 2, 2004 Those last two qualities are likely applicable to 99% of all actors. And I won't pretend they are not asses either. Let's keep the T&A in FanTAsy ***Posting delayed, user on moderator review*** Why Bio Why?
Ellester Posted July 3, 2004 Posted July 3, 2004 The oddest thing I just bought the Godfather DVD collection yesterday and watched the Godfather last night (first time in a couple of years). Pachino is really good as the Godfather in 2 and 3, but Brando was the Godfather as far as I Life is like a clam. Years of filtering crap then some bastard cracks you open and scrapes you into its damned mouth, end of story. - Steven Erikson
EnderAndrew Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 I heard a story that when Brando was in The Score, it took five times as long to film his scenes that anyone else because he was constantly drunk, abusive to the crew, and refused to acknowledge the director directly. He referred to the director, Frank Oz, as Yoda, or puppet-boy. I've never found Brando to be a great actor. I'd take Pacino over Brando any day.

I dunno, sounds like a crack up to work with, so long as you don't get on his bad side!
EnderAndrew Posted July 5, 2004 Posted July 5, 2004 In a lot of ways, that's just Hollywood. Actors being drunk or wasted on set is nothing new. I've never done a Hollywood movie, but I wouldn't put up with that kind of crap when I did stage acting. It's a disservice to the great efforts everyone else around you put it.

Did he even know where he was? He slept through the entire movie.
EnderAndrew Posted July 6, 2004 Posted July 6, 2004 I just watched a replay of a Larry King interview with him last night. I think Brando was partially insane.
