Darque Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 What species should the Alien NPCs be? Any species that can speak "basic" (or whatever the generic language is called)
Darth_Gandalf Posted June 26, 2004 Author Posted June 26, 2004 Well, Zaalbar doesn't speak Basic, and he worked just fine... But yes, having a rambling Twi'lek could get very annoying... "You shall not pass!"
Darque Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Well, Zaalbar doesn't speak Basic, and he worked just fine... But yes, having a rambling Twi'lek could get very annoying... No he didn't! Wookie squeaks are the most annoying sound in that game <_<
OLD SKOOL WHEELMAN Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Yes, the trade speak is called "Basic", and yes a rambling alien can be annoying, especially if he repeats the same line over and over again...
Darque Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Yes, the trade speak is called "Basic", and yes a rambling alien can be annoying, especially if he repeats the same line over and over again... Agreed. One thing I kept thinking while playing Kotor.. If these things could understand me, why the heck didn't they speak something other than gibberish. I think the devs of KotOR just took the easy way out on that.
GhostofAnakin Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Yes, the trade speak is called "Basic", and yes a rambling alien can be annoying, especially if he repeats the same line over and over again... Gluupor...Gluupor....Gluupor wonky "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
Drakoth Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Yes, the trade speak is called "Basic", and yes a rambling alien can be annoying, especially if he repeats the same line over and over again... Gluupor...Gluupor....Gluupor wonky Ki puna, mucha shaka laka! ooo wee.. KI PUNA! much shaka laka! ki puna!
Nur Ab Sal Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Alien voice acting was terrible (except for rakata) and cannot stand to what Ben Burrt created in movies. HERMOCRATES: Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned. SOCRATES: This I doubt. We are hearing a child's tale.
kefka Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Mon Calamari would be nice. But maybe they all speak 'English' like Admiral Ackbar? No need for alien dialog then.
Darth_Gandalf Posted June 26, 2004 Author Posted June 26, 2004 "At this close range, we won't last long against those Star Destroyers..." - Ackbar Yes, we haven't heard many of the languages yet: Mon Calamari, Bothan, Zabrak... And as for Sullusteen... it's not the prettiest sounding language... "Hubbeh manneh manneh hubbye hubbye..." - Nien Nunb "You shall not pass!"
Judge Hades Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 I am picturing Mon Calamari being something similar to Selkath.
Darth_Gandalf Posted June 26, 2004 Author Posted June 26, 2004 Hmm... that might not be pleasant. Maybe it would be better to have the Mon Calamari speak Basic... But for some reason, I'm doubting that they're included anyway. "You shall not pass!"
Craigboy2 Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 What species do we all want to see in KOTOR II as playable characters? Now's our chance to give the DEVs some helpful hints! :D I want a KEL DOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(weird name <_< ) "Your total disregard for the law and human decency both disgusts me and touches my heart. Bless you, sir." "Soilent Green is people. This guy's just a homeless heroin junkie who got in a internet caf

kefka Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Plo Koon is a Kel Dor. You might recognize him on the Jedi Council.
Darth_Gandalf Posted June 26, 2004 Author Posted June 26, 2004 Plo Koon is a Kel Dor. You might recognize him on the Jedi Council. Well, you've definitely won me over now. If Plo Koon is a Kel Dor, they have my vote! B) He is the man! "You shall not pass!"

Nur Ab Sal Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 To me those Keldor are even more than ugly... HERMOCRATES: Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned. SOCRATES: This I doubt. We are hearing a child's tale.
Darth_Gandalf Posted June 26, 2004 Author Posted June 26, 2004 Yes, they are ugly. But not so ugly to not be cool. "You shall not pass!"
Darque Posted June 26, 2004 Posted June 26, 2004 Why do all aliens have to be oooooogly? They should have Zeltrons (I think that's what they are called) and those blue skinned people (Chis?) MORE HUMANOIDS PLEASE
