Houthis apparently capture Mocha in Yemen. Apart from the obvious threat to my favourite type of coffee that means they control basically the entire Yemeni Red Sea coast again.

I haven't heard any serious analyst dispute

True, if reductive. By definition it's just unserious analysts saying it, since it obviously isn't true and never was. Just a shame those unserious analysts include Trump and Hegseth, eh.

The relevant assessment is Iran doesn't have any effective means or desire to target the US which is the country its actually fighting the war with. For example why doesn't Iran just launch its missiles at US ships and not US military bases in the places like Jordan?

Sheesh, that's incredibly weaksauce even for you Bruce. Why doesn't Iran exclusively target things we'd like them to hit instead of hitting stuff we don't want them to??? Verily, a mystery for the ages.

US military bases are legit targets; and they're extensively defended. If they weren't the US would not have fired off that 2 months worth of Patriot production yesterday. If Jordan doesn't want to be hit they shouldn't be host to a belligerent party, and the one that started the war.

Seems those two hits in empty country got 9 planes, given the video of what actually happened not much a surprise; and given the claims of 'light damage' early to those refuelers which included one quite literally missing its central third it may well be eight F15s written off rather than the one basically obsolete A10 claimed.

1 trillion bribe for the population certainly sound like better use of budget than 1 trillion to insurance company or military contractor

Recent map, but it's already out of date. Dhubab has now been captured, and that's off the bottom of it. Literally at the gates of Bab el Mandeb itself now. Certainly looking like a Gate of Tears for one side.

Not exactly a surprise, the Saudis are notoriously useless and the Saudi backed forces were largely ineffective outside of the borders of old South Yemen. And they've fought a nasty civil war within the civil war against the UAE backed South Yemeni separatists since the cease fire with the Houthis, which means both weaker militia and no Emirati support.

They will likely fight a lot better for South Yemen proper though- so long as they can stabilise things.

Not really; the money causes inflation and produces nothing but greater interest payments on the national debt.

9/11 anniversary: Victims remembered 25 years on from Sep...

Memorials to remember those killed in the September 11 attacks will be held at the site of the World Trade Center and at the Pentagon.

9/11 remembrance today. Its not really highlighted much anymore on forums like this but this is 25 years and its still significant for me personally. I remember where I was when the attacks happened

The world has changed a lot since then and largely for the better. The threat of Islamic extremist attacks is much less with the exception of several African countries where this type of extremism not only thrives but is growing

But what still surprises me is the amount of conspiracy theories that still exist which vary but they more or less believe AQ didn't commit 9/11 and the USA did it to themselves

Yup. Although even if not, he's still not paying. But just pointing out his nomsense still works.
