Keyrock Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 I imagine Sarah's not going to like me much after the ruse is up and it's revealed that I'm actually working for the Crimson Fleet. She's way too prim and proper for my liking anyway. I need a woman that might murder me in my sleep. Hopefully she wouldn't, but the type that the possibility can't ever be completely discounted. 1 RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks

Hawke64 Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 The Outer Worlds Also got a reptile dog after the quest, though not a combat companion. Spoiler I do appreciate the ability to kill any NPC. The quest NPC in the other room didn't mind. ย Vampyr No idea why the citizens had more blood than werewolves and could not be bitten only partially. The werewolves could. Most opponents will return to their locations if kited too far and can be bitten repeatedly. 2
Hawke64 Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Vampyr A boss. No background or lore, just another vampire hunter standing in a warehouse, which I needed to cross, and seeing through the invisibility spell. There were two respawning mobs, who were possible to stun and bite, while the biting animation granted invulnerability. That is to say, the MC is biting a random foe while standing in fire is depicted on the image. It was a rescue side quest, where I needed to kill a vampire 11 levels above me who could 1-shoot me (on the screenshot). I could not rest and level up, because it would have failed the quest, nor could I kill the opponent (it was possible theoretically, I just could not do so). So I lured the lvl 27 vampire to the area with the vampire hunters. The vampire's AI switched to returning to his area, so he did not attack, while the vampire hunter just kept hitting him. "Choices". Chapter 3 spoilers Spoiler This is the sire, I assume. Or the MC hallucinating. Somehow, the scene was funny. The NPC became a flesh-eating zombie, but was possible to (vampire-)persuade to become a low-level vampire. At this point, I am looking up the direct consequences, as I can't see myself replaying the game. She used the two bound wooden sticks as her weapon. Defeated the boss by biting - as mentioned, it provided protection from damage while the animation was playing. These slide-like cut-scenes are very well-done. ย 2 1

Hawke64 Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Vampyr Chapter 4, boss battle Spoiler Doris Fletcher defeated. The additional zombies made the battle challenging. Chapter 5 Some random vampire in the sewers, because there was no boss battle in this part of the city yet. Found a police officer, but was unable to report anyone, except a dead vampire and a still-alive vampire hunter. The only way to deal with the murderous civilians was to bite them lethally. And the game seems to suggest doing just that. Somehow disappointed that the MC's father's watch is technically junk. Spoiler I somehow upset the local vampire club and met the members throughout the city. Can't say that I noticed much difference between them and unnamed vampires. I lost the logic at that point, but the boss could be just generally not into logic. Defeated McCullum. For some reason, was technically unable to kill him. Could not help the NPC - the vampire mind-controlling her was not in the game and just killing her would have messed up my run. Chapter 6 Was bitten. The mini-boss was nameless, but the door I needed to access was not interactive while he was not sufficiently dead. The final boss. Spoiler So, the MC was chosen by the spirit of the land. Final boss, stage 1. Final boss, stage 2. The blood was not drinkable. So, the Red Queen's avatar was defeated and that's it. The Red Queen was not dead, nor the other blood spirit experienced much of discomfort. The boss battle was surprisingly easy. The jacket got stuck somehow. Epilogue Spoiler ย 1

Keyrock Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) Dread Delusion It's still in early access and far from complete, so I just pop in periodically to see how it's doing. I'll start from the beginning when it fully releases, whenever that is. Still, it gives me the warm and fuzzy Morrowind vibes, on account of how weird and alien the world looks, it's worth it to me for that alone. ย Edited January 13 by Keyrock 2 RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks
Keyrock Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) My House Redoran duties have taken me to the quaint fishing village of Ald Velothi in the northernmost part of West Gash. Not the most beautiful day, but I can't control the weather and who knows when I'll visit a location this remote again, so I might as well take a picture from the top of the watchtower. Hawke64 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Cult of the Lamb The mini-game was quite fun. Spoiler I somehow dislike that half of the battle was RNG - from the weapons (that are not trash) to the attack patterns. Had to restart several times to get a sword. Cloud Meadow (the community hub on Steam is not safe for work) Control I did not realise that it was a passage. Later on, it is frustrating to see them on the map and the outlines on the walls, but being unable to use them. Might be the temperature, but I wish it was a cover-based shooter. The regenerating ammo reminded of Mass Effect 1. The game is pretty, though I'm not quite fond of the general gameplay design - there are RNG'ed padding missions and rather pointless XP-based character development system. 2
Keyrock Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) I'm running the Tamriel Rebuilt mod. As you can see in the map in the upper right of the picture above, I am not in Vvardenfell nor Solstheim, I'm on the mainland of Tamriel, specifically the city of Andothren. What this mod aims to do is restore the original vision of TES III: Morrowind, which was the entirety of Morrowind, not just Vvardenfell (and later Solstheim in the Bloodmoon expansion). The game wound up getting scaled down, as games often are, and this mod tries to scale it back up. The project has been in development for nearly 20 years and is still in development today. They currently have roughly half of mainland Morrowind implemented, which is still A LOT and quite impressive for people working in their spare time. There are also other mods in development that implement other provinces into TES III: Morrowind, but I'm not running any of those. In theory, the entirety of Tamriel will one day be playable in this game... One day in 2092. If you are wondering how you reach the mainland, they've added a few Travel NPCs to existing locations. A couple to docks, letting you travel by boat, and a couple to Mage Guilds who will teleport you. Below is the dock just north of Vivec. In the vanilla game there would only be one NPC there: I'm not sure if this mod has restored House Indoril and/or House Dres. In the vanilla game a major plot point is the sixth house, yet there are only three great houses in the game, which may have you wondering about houses four and five. As you may have guessed already, those are Indoril and Dres, and they were originally going to be joinable, have quests, and allow you to rise through the ranks, just like Hlaalu, Redoran, and Telvanni. Like mainland Morrowind, they were a victim of the scaling down. I doubt they're implemented, I would think that would be prominently advertised in the mod description, but who knows? There are supposed to be hundreds of new quests and items, though. I got a quest already when I got robbed of 500 gold when sleeping at an inn in Andothren. After a bit of digging, I found out that it was a well known petty thief and I'm going to track her down, but not until after I fully explore the city (she's known to hide out in nearby Dwemer ruins). Anyway, I'm impressed so far and I'll report back as to the quality of the writing, art, quests, etc. God bless these people still working on mods for a 22 year old game. LadyCrimson Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) Hmm. I wonder.ย Hmm. ....well, it's possible (re: "forcing" excessive base radius limit) but maybe not very advisable. Deleted the longest connector bridge to save building-parts count #'s, plus it's too far away for walkin' so I'd just fly to that mt. top anyway. I had to radius-glitch over there to build a landing pad first tho. Anyway, not sure I really like this result (I might change it) but it was kinda fun trying. Plus now I'm more knowledgeable in case I ever find a better "spot." ...now I just have to remember to always save/exit on the landing pad/ship, so I don't fall thru the floor on save-loading, like so often happens if you use a portable save-point beacon placed on a floor tile, instead. >.> Edit: It'd be cool to build an entire "city" in the sky, filling up that whole space between pillars, but there's this parts-limit per base - 3000 if you want to upload/share it - and a total parts for entire single save (20k?). You can reach that really quickly if you go crazy. EVERY power connecting wire you use counts as a "part", stuff like that. Edited January 21 by LadyCrimson 2 1 โThings are as they are. Keyrock Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) I'm continuing my mainland Morrowind adventures. I'm kind of curious if I can get to and from Vvardenfell without fast traveling. I can see the peninsula that Ebonheart is on, partially because I'm running on 5X draw distance, but still. I could try swimming, but don't want to deal with all the sea creatures. Once I get my alteration skill higher (read: 50+) I'll get a longer duration water walking spell and test whether there is an invisible wall to stop me or not. I did wind up finding the thief that stole my money. She offered to give me back my money to avoid conflict and I took her up on her offer. I had the option of attacking her or trying to apprehend her to bring to the authorities, but I only really wanted my money back and if the authorities wanted her captured they could have done it themselves. They were the ones that told me where she tended to hide out. There were several paupers also living in those same Dwemer ruins. Had she told me she was using the money to help the homeless, I would have believed her and let her keep the money, 500 gold isn't a big deal to me. But she didn't so I took my money and left. I'm currently on a pilgrimage so I headed toward the mining town of Bodrum, since it has a shrine I need to visit nearby. There is a Daedric shrine near Andothren and I explored it. The cultists inside didn't take kindly to that, but they were no match for me. I talked to the guardian inside and she told me that I killed her cultists but they were annoying $#!+s so she left me alone. Fair enough. I looted the crap out of the shrine but made sure to do so out of her sight. I then stopped at the fishing/harbor village of Teys for the night on my way west: After a long hike along the coast then through some mountains, I crossed a river and neared Bodrum. Here are what looks to be Dwemer ruins near the town off in the distance: And the town itself: A+ for consistency so far. Andothren very much resembles Balmora in architecture, which makes sense since it's a Hlaalu city. Bodrum is a Redoran town and the architecture reflects that. ย Edited January 21 by Keyrock 4 RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks
