July 29Jul 29 How my mind works sometimes:We all know how the universe works: it's like a machine endlessly and flawlessly repeating the same fixed set of algorithms. Everything we know has evolved out of the randomness of nature. In that case, why would there be a hell to threaten people into living right? That doesn't fit the algorithm. Then it occured to me: if there is an afterlife, wouldn't that constitute proof that we're living in a simulation? I mean, why would it evolve out of an ordinary universe? There you have it: if you go on to an afterlife, it's because we're living in a simulation. The universe programmers need to retrain their living LLMs for the next cycle. "Can't sleep the drones will kill me."
August 20Aug 20 Elon Musk: "one billion huge AI satellites, please!"I have no idea how true this could all be (in the video, re: causing so much light it'd lighten up nightsky and other issues), but even just the constant resources/pollution factors re: having to maintain/repair/replace 1 billion all the time seems, y'know, stupid. Seeing how I'm very slightly older than Musk, I guess I can't hope he'll die of old age "soon"/before actual world approval/in my lifestime. I suppose I'll just have to hope I die before AI Judgement Day, first. ;p Edited August 20Aug 20 by LadyCrimson Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram.

September 3Sep 3 (language warning etc). I laughed so hard at some spots. Plus he makes a lot of mostly valid points. Now, I don't care if anyone wants to or doesn't want to use A/C in their home. Up to them. But I didn't realize it was such a political topic in some parts. I suppose that doesn't surprise me but still, seems weird. Oh, I do think one of his points re: cost of a small AC window unit is too US PoV. I think some of Europe at least, it's not as easily had cost wise like in US, whether because of licenses/local laws, taxes, tariffs etc. Still gaming with my 9900k/2080ti/32 ram.
September 3Sep 3 Author A lot of Europe has AC, there isn't an apartment in Serbia and Balkans without it. Italy and Spain are probably the same deal. The issue other countries north are having is that their summers had gotten hotter. I imagine that it's a couple of idiots that are yelling that are being amplified by the government, probably due to infrastructure that would collapse by mass AC adoption. Energy is in a precarious state in EU, no dirty coal, nuclear is not popular apart from France and gas is no longer cheap and readily available. September 4Sep 4 ^ I'd wager most of this type of US-reaction/competitive nature, when they say Europe, they are talking about mostly Northern Eur, like GB/France/Germany, (maybe Italy, because, fashion, Rome, Pope). Y'know, the places that get a lot of news and multimedia/ent. coverage in the US. >.> Kind of like when a lot of US joeblows say "Asians" they're likely largely referring to Japanese/Chinese/Korean/Viet. etc.I have zero notion what current average joeblow in the US thinks, but in the old days I felt like half the people I met, something like Spain was just considered, well, Spain. Something unto its own. Haha. From some of the comments, assuming any of them has merit, it sounds like some spots may also have a privilege problem. eg, no A/C on lower/low level offices/living areas but oh so oddly, those upper floors do. Also, I think since AI data centers, everyone's energy infrastructures are under attack. Even in the US. If Musk had his way, we'd go dark/to sleep by 7pm, to save energy for AI centers.
