JediMasterRevan Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 In Kotor your other characters in your party would run through mines and would take damage. This really annoyed me after a while and I was wondering if in Kotor 2 they were going to fix this problem. Maybe they could make them recognize the mine and then go around it or maybe not go through it until I retrieve it.
Weiser_Cain Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 On one hand if they don't see the mine they should run right through it. On the other they should be able to avoid the mines they do see. However (three hands?) if they don't see the mine but another member does the member should warn them. And they (shiva?) definetly shouldn't run through a mine the team demolitionist is disarming. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
Ivan the Terrible Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Seeing as how even the most serious wounds could be patched up in a few seconds with Force Heal, I don't think it matters much. I kinda got a sick enjoyment out of watching Mission run through minefields, collapsing over and over again. I made this half-pony half-monkey monster to please you But I get the feeling that you don't like it What's with all the screaming? You like monkeys, you like ponies Maybe you don't like monsters so much Maybe I used too many monkeys Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?
Weiser_Cain Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Hmm missions got to be legal by now I should make her with sexy metal legs... Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (

They should really do something about that, I used mission to run through the pool with poison at the Vulkar base. Walks into poison *thud* *gets up* Walks into poison *thud* *gets up* Walks into poison *thud* *gets up* and I'm already at the goody chest none the worse.
Weiser_Cain Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 I just had an evil idea about permanent constitution damage... Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (
EnderAndrew Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Why is sadism so fun in a game? I'm very giving and protective in real life, but in a video game sadism is just done right funny.
Weiser_Cain Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 Sadism is always fun. It's just that in real life there are consequences and no reset switches. Yaw devs, Yaw!!! (

sniggy Posted June 2, 2004 Posted June 2, 2004 maybe it has something to do with the characters not being able to die? as long as one of the party is still standing, you're basically invincible. no matter how many mine fields i run through- as long as i leave one person behind, it's ok. It's very hard to be polite if you're a cat.
JediMasterRevan Posted August 16, 2004 Author Posted August 16, 2004 So is it fixed or not does anyone know??
starwarskid15_19 Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 i agree Revan it really ticked me off the force is what gives a jedi his power. its an energy field created by all living things. it surrounds us and penetrates us. it binds the galaxy together
TSAdmiral Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Now that I think about it, the mines were really nothing more than an obstruction in gameplay. They tended to slow down the game for me as I waited for Mission to disable it. Why not just remove it altogether?
Kdy-worker 1138 Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Since your Npc's can't Die(hate that) i see no reason to include mines in the game..Hell why even include enemies..why even make a game...I'm outta here! *Sound of door slamming*
-Master of All- Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Why even post? And if your mother never told you: don't slam doors.

Another great idea by the people who brought you beer milkshakes! "I don't see a problem...then again, SW isn't my life, so what do I know...." - some who makes 27.8 post per day on a SW forum!
Meshugger Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 So is it fixed or not does anyone know?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> IIRC, one dev said that they're implementing some new kind of path-finding for the NPCs in KotOR II, but they didn't say that would eliminate the chance of your teammates running through the mines. "Some men see things as they are and say why?""I dream things that never were and say why not?"- George Bernard Shaw"Hope in reality is the worst of all evils because it prolongs the torments of man."- Friedrich Nietzsche "The amount of energy necessary to refute bull**** is an order of magnitude bigger than to produce it." - Some guy
Zach Morris Posted August 16, 2004 Posted August 16, 2004 Disarming those mines did come in handy. It was a fun way to beat Darth Banon on Tantooine. Making him run through MY mine field, mwa ha ha.
Adria Teksuni Posted August 17, 2004 Posted August 17, 2004 My fave place for mines was on Dantooine, because you find all of those after taking out one set of Mandalorians, and you know EXACTLY where big bad dude is going to show up. I mine the hell out of the exact area he's standing on. As soon as combat begins. BOOM! And then much evil giggles. Never assume malice when stupidity is to blame.

I tried to use my mines to save the republic soldier from the raghouls in the undercity on Taris, unfortunately they wouldn't die during the cutscene, cheap scripted deaths!
