  1. I hope so, however if Deadfire works and the same way as Pillars and it goes like that then you'll have a delay before you shoot unless you already had set 1 out, and delays are unacceptable
  2. Hah no! I realised there was little point actually engaging with you so I thought I'd have some fun mocking your arguments. I was actually having fun and wasn't in the least bit angry.
  3. Indeed. I can't say that choosing a non-binary gender would particularly interest me, since it would presumably have a very small impact on the game*, but the fact that I am a fairly traditional straight, white (cis-)male doesn't mean I'm not interested in exploring themes related to minorities I'm not a part of, or even simply playing something that I'm not. *It would also probably be incredibly easy to implement since presumably all dialogue in the game already has a gender variable that reads off the main character's gender and spits out the appropriate pronoun. All you'd need to do is add one of more additional options and outputs.
  4. One feature that would be great for Deadfire would be a default starting weapon setting. As soon as combat ends, all your characters would switch back to whatever weapon(s) you'd selected for this so that you'd be ready before the next fight.
  5. I don't know. Roughly how many percent of players are you? If you're over 25% of players then maybe we can squeeze one if for you.
  6. Gunpowder weapons take a long time to reload, but this doesn't matter if you don't intend to reload them. This build has two arquebuses: shoot someone with a Flames of Devotion shot, switch to the second arquebus and repeat and you're going to do a lot of damage. Sure, after that you're not shooting but that's precisely when you go and tank.
  7. Well on a few percent of people identify as dwarves so it's not worth pandering to them. The silent majority identify as humans so, really, we should get rid of all other races.
  8. As a person who has never played an Orlan character I am personally furious that Obsidian spent time and effort pandering to those players who like small furry characters!
  9. What was the insult exactly? I can't see it myself, since it was a joke, but perhaps you can see something that's not there.
  10. That is true. I hope there are some more interesting staves in Deadfire.
  11. Not as far as I'm aware. It's a very good weapon thanks mainly to it's crush/burn damage (it would be even better if it was burn/crush thanks to a peculiarity of Pillars coding) and is particularly handy when fighting the various spectres and shades you meet early on in Caed Nua and the Temple of Eothas since they are weak to burn damage, but I don't know of any builds that specifically make use of it.
  12. Ah okay, then that's not a problem, though assuming you've not played with story companions before I'd say you're missing out. I am sure a stave based caster could be designed that would work fine. Pillars is surprisingly flexible with what classes you can build. That said, it's more that Durance's story dialogue makes repeated references to his staff, so it would be a bit disconcerting to me if I had sold it (I never sell unique items anyway, since money is not hard to come by in Pillars).
  13. @CaesarCzech - first, multiquote is your friend, not your event. Second, did you really make a reference to the rise of Hitler in comparison to this issue?! I think the bastardised version of Godwin's Law is dumb, but still...
  14. I'd love to create a mod to do it. I am fairly confident I could work out how (I did a little item modding before), but the reality is I never get round to these sorts of things. Yeah. I realised after I'd posted that when any damage multipliers are taken into account that -1 damage starts to grow (albeit it fairly slowly). As you say, it's not the end of the world but it does take away from the end game potential of the bow.
  15. Sigh... did this really need to be resurrected? Other than giving the name of the writer in question, this article doesn't add anything to what we knew in the thread from yesterday. In particular it doesn't say anything about Obsidian pressuring him to resign*. *Even if it did I would be suspicious, given the source.
  16. Who said Eora was fair Back in the olden days she had a Fine Hunting Bow. At least she has something better than that now eh? EDIT: hmm... actually the -1 damage perhaps makes it worse than a standard hunting bow?
  17. I wonder if it's because they haven't gamed on a PC for a long time? I know that back in the mid nineties I had to go through an arcane procedure to get Mechwarrior 2 to work (it required DX5, but for some reason you had to install DX2 first), and before that there were games that came on multiple floppies and invariable failed to install at least once and often took quite a bit of fiddling to get to work properly. But yeah, these days installing a game on a PC is a pretty painless process. That said, each to his own.
  18. Durance's story is going to seem a little odd then It makes sense for Durance's staff to be powerful, all things considered. I know it'll never happen, but I'd love to see a soulbound version tied to his story progression.
  19. A Paladin with Sacred Immolation will do plenty of damage, don't worry about that.
