  1. people mad they cant solo the game casting mirror image and sunfiring everything to oblivion. That may be true of some people. If you read my posts and some others, you will see that there are other reasons. That isn't anyone since that can't be done.
  2. Some of CC spells will disable enemies for a short time. The effect is a little less dramatic than the IE games. Why would you waste a spell slot for that? You could just finish off the panicked enemies with ranged weapons. Sure, that could work, but then again you might be roleplaying a mage that doesn't like to exert himself or you might be soloing and want to be sure kill them all before the CC spell wears off and also have cannon fodder in case it does. Also in Vanilla BG1 what ranged weapon can the mage even use?
  3. A thesis that has been proved wrong by Demon's Souls and its sequels. Personally, I always liked games that require some investment, the kind of system you learn how to use by actually playing, not by reading the manual. DAI for example is a game that is pretty easy to master since there is no subtility to know beside everything that is said in the tutorial, a perfectly tasteless system imo. Demon's Souls is for the more hardcore crowd; casuals quit quickly.
  4. people mad they cant solo the game casting mirror image and sunfiring everything to oblivion. You can't do that in the IE games either.
  5. WTF? Orogun01, are you claiming to have been repeatedly raped?
  6. Unless she's the one being accused of rape.
  7. The details are always complicated. Imagine your girlfriend video taped you and her having sex while she was somewhat intoxicated. The next day she would basically own you. She could go to the police and have you arrested for rape. So yes, how drunk is important. If a law can be exploited; it usually is. I guess another simple lesson would be don't stick your junk in crazy. Lol. You may not know how crazy she is until it's too late. I don't have much faith in the competence of the state, but I suspect the intoxication level will be reasonable; if not the bill will be repealed after the first person is convicted of rape over a swig of beer.
  8. Is that how the bill is phrased exactly?

  10. I think the measure of how drunk you need to be will be pretty high. I assume the law is meant to deal with cases were the victim is effectively passed out. Such a case happened in the army a few years back if I recall correctly.
  11. This is exactly as I said.
  12. -Not to mention the fact that BG1's level cap was only 8 or 9, while PoE's will be 12-And not to mention the fact that PoE's Spell levels will go up to 6, while BG1's only went up to 5. A more accurate comparison would be vanilla IWD1 (before its expansions), where your character could only reach about 13th level I suspect that a level in poe isn't as meaningful as it is in BG. Level 12 might be the poe equal of BG's level 9.
  13. Custom parties are soulless.
  14. Money gets you out of a lot of things. I know rich kids who drove while drunk and killed little girls, and got out with a slap on the wrist because they had a rich daddy. Wow. That's really, really messed up. What country was that? I think it was USA, the kids attorney invented a new mental disease where he is so rich he cannot understand the result of his bad actions. Oh, here it is: http://jalopnik.com/drunk-teen-kills-four-gets-no-prison-after-lawyer-blam-1484375504 Oh yeah! I remember that story now; wasn't he sent to a rehab for rich people or something? That was such BS. He deserved prison! EDIT: Just read the story. Maybe he wouldn't think his actions didn't have consequences if you didn't let him get away with his crimes.
  15. No romances in poe. OE might have more time/resources for romances in poe2. Mods will try to pick up the slack in this department.

  17. They were a good team that worked well together. Even as newbies they were as good as the best teams. All anyone could hope to do is match them. Bioware were once very special developers. Before the dark times... Before DA2...
  18. I don't know what's up with taxes in Poland; so I'm not trying to judge, but I would never, ever, avoid my taxes.
  19. Wow, this went off topic quickly. Uh.... Bill Cosby was a douche to the crew of his show? That's unfortunate.
  20. I'm pretty sure wealth is a finite resource. For every dollars he has, there's someone else with those dollars not in their pockets. That's mostly wrong. Wealth is all about how you use those resources. You can be productive and make the resources you control more valuable, or you can be unproductive and waste said resources. I'm doing pretty well financially, and I was given very little resources (by American standards). Heck my land only costed about $1,000. That's about a months rent in New York. I've taken this area and made it pretty productive. So like I said, it's not as much about the amount of resources you are given; as much as it is about how you use them.
  21. It is also not fair to compare it with vanilla BG1 as that was first such game for Interplay/Bioware and OE has experience from making such games now. It is not fair to compare PoE with BG2 size or AI complexity but it is fair to compare to features BG2 had like big spells lists, lots of classes and kits and so on. Putting stronghold into PoE tells you even OE rather compare with BG2 than BG1. Putting in a stronghold doesn't tell you much really. The first game in a series always has less resources since they actually have to create the mechanics. This was true of BG1, and it is true of poe. BG2 was only able to be so epic because there was more time/resources spent improving the game mechanics since the basic structure was already done. The primary factor isn't experience; it resources. Unless the new game has a huge budget; comparing any new rpg series' first installment to BG2 is unfair. But you are wrong here. While resources are always important I read so many times how devs would say that with a good team that works well together everything goes faster and better.I would expect OE to have such teams. So did Bioware.
  22. So, basically, you're saying every 42nd person should live well and **** the rest? Maybe he's living very well, and they're all merely living well.
  23. Go be a commie somewhere else. Proper wealth distribution my ass, we went through this crap. No one had anything, now I'm sitting beside a computer with a cold drink with my secretary with big **** under my desk and 40 workers that don't earn as much as me combined. This is the only way to live my friend. I don't recall the socialist countries having very good justice systems either.
