Politics... US election edition (2020 almost over, read all about it!)

I don't know; it seems to me it would have been lost amid the conspiracy theory set, which seems to be the peeps that are really into what happened at the Capitol. Experience has shown that even truth is hard to shake a conspiracy theory. One refrain from lawmakers who were protesting the electors and the Capitol protesters and the Capitol rioters was that they wanted to look at the votes and make sure there was no fraud. Except in Georgia, at least, that was done (actually twice in Georgia, including comparing the machine counts to the printed vote sheets count). They wanted to inspect the voting machines, which was also done - a forensic analysis in Georgia of the Dominion machines showed no signs of tampering or of any process to steal votes. The allegations of dead voters voting in Georgia were investigated (as all fraud claims are) and nothing was found. The guy accused of stealing machines in Georgia was revealed to be a phone technician installing phones. A random sample audit of one of the counties most targeted as a "high election fraud" turned up 2 problematic ballots that weren't believed to be fraud. Instead of accepting this audit as the truth and accepting the validity of the results of the election, this group (+Trump) pivoted to insist that the entire Georgia government is in on the fix. This disregards that its a Republican governed state; they clearly aren't Trump Republicans (despite many of them campaigning with his endorsement or aligning themselves to his agenda). Because with conspiracy theories, its easier to widen the conspiracy than admit facts that go counter to what you know is true. With all of that as background, do you really think Biden (who the extreme conspiracy theories have as a Deep State child eater or something) could actually 'build a narrative about people being misguided and used' that would have reached this group? -

Another person fired, apparently because they were wearing their lanyard on as they went through the Capitol. https://www.npr.org/sections/congress-electoral-college-tally-live-updates/2021/01/07/954518782/law-enforcement-and-social-media-identifying-u-s-capitol-mob-members -
Eh, inXile had made Hunted: The Demon Forge (made with UE3), Mage's Tale and worked on (cancelled) open world game HEIST (which was going to use UE as well) and Obsidian made NWN2, KOTORII, FONV, AP and OW, so neither are just isometric companies.

That's been gfted1's point regarding the 'magic money' proposals (guaranteed basic income, guaranteed college education, etc.) all along, as far as I know. -

It supposedly is confirmed elsewhere to BE the Mark of the Outsider from Dishonored. -
As much as Bruce was awesome as Brisco, the show wouldn't be the same without Bowler, IMO. Would have loved a movie while Carry was still with us though.

RIP Lord Bowler.

Maybe, although there were early reports of a group walking and chanting, then when they stopped a group began the rush, which the crowd joined in. Reports have them having never left the cooler they were found in. From the reports that the police were pepper sprayed by protesters, I suspect that might be what they are counting. Haven't seen any reports on that specifically, and as always with recent events, what is currently reported may be wrong. -

As I understand it he can pardon a group of people without naming them individually (like the pardon for Vietnam era draft dodgers, or Confederate soldiers) -

The end of getting 5-10 circulars a day and 2-5 cold calls a day from groups affiliated with both parties reminding me to vote. And 2-3 polling groups calling to ask my opinion on who I'm going to vote for. And the hand written letters about why its important to vote for a candidate sent from out of state. And 99% of all ads on all media being attack ads for the candidates, oftentimes leading to 5-6 political ads per commercial break or period. Although it is a bit funny with the attack ads when one of the candidates has an "I'm X and I approve this message" at the beginning of their ad, but their ad precedes a PAC attack ad against them that caries no disclaimer, so it makes it sound like the candidate approved the ad attacking them for a few seconds. Its just not enough to want it to continue. -
Hope you recover quickly and your dad never gets it.

That's all well and good until someone hacks it and starts changing the settings for you.

Iirc, Mad Max (1979) was set "a few years from now" with a date in late 1984 seen on screen. Mad Max 2 was 3 years later (1987) and Beyond Thunderdome 15 after that (2002). All this becomes vague with no specific dates ("45 years from next Wednesday") after the Fury Road soft reboot, which besides altering the timeline to be less specific, also changes when the nuclear war happened in relationship to the other films.

I've never read the books either.

Not only have I not watched Game of Thrones, I have no plans to do so.

Disrupt Texts has a website, you can read what they advocate for there. The WSJ article indicates some teachers talking of having gotten administrations to remov classics entirely from curriculum (specifically, the Odyssey), which generally speaking isn't what the Disrupt texts group is advocating for.
