  1. Any updates or suggestions now that 4.0 is out? I have 2 weeks off and was thinking of building my main around dual blunders monk.
  2. Damn that sounds ultra fun! I fell in love with Whispers of the Wind a short while back and love that this build barrels towards it.
  3. For a SC monk, I'm presuming statline with high pen? Trying to suss out the optimal stats. Is it worth taking both single weapon and dual weapon focus?
  4. Update: I have replicated this on a couple of different saves. The spell count stalls out after a single fight. Testing: If I unbind, then rebind, I can go into a fight with a clean slate of zero spells cast. All the the spells cast in the next encounter will go towards the spell count. However any fights thereafter don't count the spells. So the item stalls out. I have only tested this with crucible fights and I'm curious if this is related to how the fights end ("event complete" vs going to a "loot bodies and back to normal" situation) I finally leveled this item up by going into an encounter, getting a cipher to frequently cast ancestor's memory on my druid (refreshing abilities) and blasting spells until I reached the # of spells necessary.
  5. I have soulbound the Survivor's Tusks to my druid. I've beaten all of the Crucible fights. However my tusks are stuck at lvl3. Conditions for lvl4: "DRUID- (Cast 30 Beasts/Plant Druid Spells OR cast 75 Druid Spells)" No matter how many druid spells I cast, the spell count is stuck at 16 druid spells, and zero beat/planet druid spells. Any way to resolve this?
  6. edit: don't mind me. I tried a different save and my problem resolved itself.
  7. Very curious to hear more about this 2H battle axe. Does anyone have a screen of the specs?
  8. I'm noticing with the latest beta patch that I can no longer change any colors for my characters. Anyone else having this problem? I did a repair on my steam files, have no mods.
  9. I did this one female91a_lg.pngfemale91a_sm.pngfemale91a_convo.pngfemale91a_si.png Cheers and thanks!
  10. Been fighting in photoshop to make this watercolor. Please help!
  11. I've been trying to come up with the optimal build for dual wield sword/pistol characters. Just to go with the pirate theme. Playstyle is to fire off a couple shots from a distance and then jump into the fray from behind when my tanks have engaged the enemy using a sword or sabre in the offhand. 2handed weapon or dual sabre/sword in the secondary. So far I've tried a ranger/summoner multiclass who casts 6 skeletons to engage mobs, and then I found some boots of leap which help get my character into the fray when the mobs are tied up. I can see a ranger multiclass with monk, fighter, rogue or barbarian to make this work better (have a dedicated summoner to create my own mob or more tanks to tie up the front line). Or maybe drop the ranger or sharpshooter altogether and go fighter/barb, fighter/rogue, or fighter/monk. Or monk/barb, monk/rogue. Or rogue/fighter, rogue/barb. Hah. Any suggestions on synergies that would optimize this? I actually read of an interesting build on Reddit that might achieve some of the idea: https://www.reddit.com/r/projecteternity/comments/8ipy86/for_the_life_of_me_i_just_cannot_pick_a_class_i/ So this guy is able to do long range with spells, and then jumps behind with his 2gun blunders. Where I want to shoot with guns, and then jump behind with melee. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Wholeheartedly agree. I keep wanting to re-roll and try a new character and the lengthy intro I'll have to go through makes me cringe after booting up the game (which I love so far but want to try new characters).
  13. Sidekicks are full on party members. They just don't have as much story/lore in them as the companions, and don't work within the companion reputation system. Think of them like Yeslick, Branwen, or Xan from Baldur's Gate 1. Interesting! I wonder if they show up before the main companions. PoE (understandably) gave you 2 right off the bat to flesh out your group. And an experienced player could go grab whoever they wanted immediately. To a certain degree I hope they give us sidekicks for the start and make mains a bit harder to win over.
  14. I played the beta for Numenera and it was an intriguing experience. A lot of thought goes into your characters and how you play them. It was a nice change of pace. There wasn't a single time in the beta that I felt "console influence" watering it down. The learning curve felt steep and cerebral. I celebrate the idea that console gamers might get exposed to this type of RPG. That said, I was concerned with the bugs and the beta didn't feel very polished. I hope InExile has worked out the kinks and I look forward to giving it a full go next week for the release. Back to PoE2 - less companions doesn't make it less tactical. At the extreme end I consider my solo attempts (especially PotD) to be the hardest tactical challenge I had in PoE. Less resources, including companions, means more thoughtful gameplay. Obsidian knows the guts of their title better than anyone and have obviously given # of companions a lot of thought. If you don't like 5, then mod it on release and move on. I'm curious about sidekicks. If they operate like a pet slot. Or if they take a companion slot, do you opt to take sidekicks until you find companions (who may be harder to meet this time around). There's a lot of potential in this idea when it comes to RP.
  15. Anyone know if Berath's Blessing also considers POE I achievements? Like a solo PotD run, etc. in the first game affects a start in the new sequel?
  16. I'm down with 5 party members. The explanation Josh gave at SA is more than good enough.
  17. Dammit, I never did that. Sooorry! Have too much fuzz going on right now. Since PoE2 will be released in one year at best I guess I could take some time and update all of my old builds. This one was one of my favourite ones back then - although it's not too gimmicky or special. Oh in the case, out of curiosity what's your favorite druid build if you had to start fresh these days? And what build of any class is your all-time favorite to play if you're looking for fun? (mine so far has been a ranged cipher)
  18. Howdy -- I love this build but was curious if you'd make any changes with the latest patches. I noticed in this thread that avenging doesn't work with retaliation anymore and your update was in June. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/86064-class-build-the-thundercat-or-crit-me-maybe-on-more-time/?p=1840344 And thanks for you input Boeroer!
