  1. Phalanx are damn easy. Especially the stupid levy stuff that Greeks field. If it was Spartans, well that would be an entirely diferent matter.
  2. **** yeah. I want a sequel. NOW. Can we get another sequel for this? Pretty please? Oh yeah.
  3. Requiem sounds cool, but I sort of miss the ton of lore and baclground fluff that Redemption acquired during it's lifetime. The whole world was seeped in supernatural forces and the whole apocalyptic doom theme was beyond awesome. Edit: That said, I'm so going to play Requiem if I ever get the change.
  4. There was a mod anmed Zhanguo:Total War, which might have been what you were looking for, Calax. The last I looked into it, it was in internal beta and was looking ok. Not sure where to link you.
  5. What GAME? (Doofus) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Longest Journey! Dumbell
  6. Err...soft drink/small arms company owning the police force of the city?
  7. Could you try to add somehting to the discussion Raven, I mean, for once? For the topic, am I the only one that thinks how HL 1 wasn't really the revolution that so many hailed it for? Have fps games somehow changed from the "pistol-smg-rokkit and caverns full of aliens"-shtick? Sure, there was Rainbow and Delta Force and their legacy of "realistic" shooters, but apart from that, we still get mostly the same crap with the rare Far Cry or Undying that changes the formula a bit.
  8. See, it's not an "excuse". It's the reason. Yeah, you bet it's illegal, but I'm not really batting an eyelid. But unmoral? Well, if you folks must know, I do buy my games and music if it's available in here and I want to support the people behind the product. But that's not really a discussion for this thread. We are seriously off th topic here.
  9. About that, I thought this screen is kinda fitting:
  10. Especially since the music of the bands was licensed for the game.
  11. I think that's damn pretty.
  12. I had to try the first zombie mission(Cragsleft Hammerite prison) a couple of times before I could get over the undead, but after that the game blew me away like nothing before that. Nothing. Thief 2 was even better in many ways, yet the art direction and atmoshphere in Dark Project were so unique and rewarding that no game has ever felt better or caused such an instant fandom. RTW is near though. On Half-Life, I actually played the game for the first a year ago(not counting Uplink). I've been called biased on Thief games sometimes, but that's because I was always late on the train of FPS' since Thief took so much time. It wasn't effortless to let to go of that goodness for a bunch of tunnels littered with alien crabs or zombies. I almost always just downloaded a demo and got back to Thief once the wow-factor(like Half Life's triggers, Far Cry's jungles and water or IGI 2's sense of scale) waned. I recognize the games for what they were though and how much effect they had on the genre. Or even gaming in general, HL was a breath of fresh frigid air on an indrusty spawning nothing but rts games and football. I recognize
  13. Library was just bad, yeah. I mean, sure it's fun to take on a flood of Flood(narf) on Legendary(we always played Legendary), but there's really nothing memorable or unique(like flying or base assault or two front war between Covenant and Flood or team mates) in Library, even the Sentinels were rather lame.
  14. Playing Halo on PC, alone is a brain dead idea. That game was practically built on console controllers and co-op. First five times it was utter bliss to blast(and even sneak on some levels) through the thing with a friend.
  15. Yeah, I hadn't even heard of these guilds. It seems like there's going to be more depth than RTW.
  16. <nitpick>Thief demo came out before HL!</further nitpick> Yeah, it was sort of sad that the introduced themes(mission structure, store and loot mechanic
  17. Yeah, but Thief predated Half-Life and you could throw anything from huge boulders to rotten heads to cutlery(that actually made more damage if you ran while throwing, physics and all, you know) and all reacted like they would realistically do.
  18. It would have been better if you could have just thrown rocks like in Far Cry. Although an infite supply of small stones in a missile silo would have been kind of surreal. :D
  19. Oh, ok. Just fry the damn thing then. By the by, do you jump off the ladders?
  20. I didn't use grenades much there. I think I used one or two. It should be doable without them. But wait, did you turn on the oxygen input too?
  21. I thought that part was pretty easy. It would have been funnier to try to dash between the tentacles while a cohort of marines try to kill the beast.
  22. I felt pretty letdown by that area. I mean, I was used to areas with nothing but battles(Tartaros, Prison, Trash Warrens), but that was just lame.
  23. I'm also waiting for the new religion system the most. Everything else is guaranteed to be good and I'm actually eager to take on the new world. I'm just hoping that the amount of morale is increased from RTW, because the fights in the vanilla campaign were ridiculous. Oh, and it would be nice to not have one faction above them all, Rome as a faction was just too good. It had every unit imaginable except HA, ellies and chariots, plus the best frontline troops in the game, that ALSO had 2 hitpoints. I mean, c'mon, make a balanced game, not this factioncentric crap. Oh, realistic colors would be nice too. I'm still horrified by the pink Parthians and cyan Sassanids.
