  1. I was wondering if anyone has found/made any good bearded pale elf portraits. I've tried looking for drow portraits as well. Would be veryspptrvisyibr for any leads on this. Also, can you change a portrait once the character has been collected?
  2. This is a great idea. It might need to be modified, but I still really like it. I feel like high intelligence should have some other effect other than aoe too...thematically, I think intelligence should have more to it, and should be useful in more contexts.
  3. I like where your head's at...I'm not sure this is EXACTLY what needs to happen, but it's a very good start and idea of the kind of thing that needs to happen.
  4. Hmm, I totally disagree. Skills are tied to several things. There are those random events that pop up, the combat options, and stuff like unlocking doors and chests. If it's balanced correctly, it makes sense to have a little knowledge in everything, but to only really focus on one or two things. It also makes sense, that skills would take less effort to get adept, but much more to master.
  5. I agree with a lot of your individual points. As to your statement that this is an alpha. . .the game certainly is rough, but what passes for a beta these days in mmo's and such, when the game is practically finished, really isn't a beta, but regardless, those are all semantics. There is a "stash" inventory as well, that makes the inventory quite larger. Also, the way you can see all of your companions' inventories at once is AWESOME. I really, really hope this is not changed. More games should do it this way, it makes organizing it so much easier. That being said, inventory does need work. Your second "popup" point is quite picky, although I do think the way to examine items could be made a lot easier.
  6. These are both symptoms of the loading bug. Quicksaving seems to make this worse, but it's a bug regardless. Items appear to not always load; this a bug listed in the issues they know about.
  7. I kind of like the zoomed in character creation, but I think this is the biggest argument for it not being zoomed in. The models are pretty ugly that zoomed in, and it's really not necessary to see them that close up since you never will in the game. Then you have people like above, who literally, will not play the game for this reason.
  8. Uhhh...it is an option, go to the "game" options under the ESC menu.
  9. These are just a few loose thoughts. I plan on doing a longer post later on. . .probably tomorrow. The first thing I noticed that I found annoying was the cursor selection. It scrolls with the screen if you are near the edge of it; this means that you lose your original placement of the corner of the selection. Not the biggest deal, and I honestly cannot remember how the IE games did it, but I find it annoying. Also, as someone who is planning on playing ironman, permadeath, and expert mode upon release, I feel that aoe range indicator should be a toggle even on expert. Again, just my opinion, but that seems like an extremely difficult thing to judge. I agree with the other choices. The autopause options are awesomesauce, and anyone that hasn't tried them, I would highly recommend it. Overall, loving what I see. I think these next few years are going to be good ones for the genre.
  10. I can verify that this happened to me as well
  11. Regardless of the loading errors, having the autopause options is super clutch.
  12. I think you can endlessly add them. The thing to watch is the durations. The dark green is the chanting, and the light green is the how long it lingers. I believe this is how you make them try and stack. I'm still not sure on the nuances yet.
  13. Yeah...I kinda like the implementation as is. You could probably strike a balance somehow of making them cost more for character types, but your adding a lot of complexity then.

  15. I believe if you want an animal companion, you're going to have to go for the ranger.
