  1. I'm between 40 & 50 too, but theres no option for that. Haha!
  2. I meant by having an "official" gender for Reven. Reven is Reven to me as I played in the first game, no one can ever ruin that experience.
  3. No. No no no no no no. And again, no. The whole deal with Reven is that Reven is mysterious. Reven wears a hood, and people don't know what Reven looks like. That's what the whole convo with Atton was at the beginning of Kotor2, there were so many rumors about Reven, no one knew what was true unless you knew Reven personally. Reven will always be a dark female to me. Don't take that away from me, and I won't take your image of Reven away from you.
  4. I voted for story, but I think both are important in an RPG. It is a game, and gameplay is one of the reasons we choose a video game over a movie. The combat system in a game is what will make me choose to play it or not. I can't spend hours scrolling through menu's in the Final Fantasy games like some people can. I don't play turn based RPGs, because I usually get bored. Kotor isn't boring to me because you don't have to pause the game, you can just fight. But at the same time the game needs an interesting story. It is often the story that will drive me to keep playing the game, so I can find out what happens next. I love talking to different characters, finding new information, etc more than I like the fighting part. Ultimately, a good game needs both or I would get bored.
  5. To the original poster, You may be interested in this article: http://www.beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7657_1.html
  6. That made me laugh! While I enjoyed playing Fable, I definately agree with you. I'd rather have a fully fleshed out story & gameplay before they make the graphics fancy. If you want a game with day/night cycle, play GTA San Andreas. I just hope there will be a Kotor3. That would make me happy.
  7. Don't forget that losing influence will also cause someone to answer your questions and align with you eventually. I think the idea is that they fear you so they respond to you. I haven't experienced this myself, but I have heard a lot of people say it works.
  8. I just got my first bug tonight. My fiance was playing (we use the same xbox/disk) and his character returned to the Jedi Enclave near the end of the game. Well when it pans to show where the Jedi masters would be (except he was playing dark side, so no one was there) the game freezes. No way to skip it. No way to finish the game. He says it's due to a corruped save. I'm pretty bummed, I wanted to see force crush. EDIT: Ok, he got past it. He had to put Kreia in his party in order for the scene to trigger without freezing. It was still weird.
  9. Me neither, I don't listen to the radio. My fiance introduced me to Bright Eyes.
  10. Here are a few of my favorite bands: Alkaline Trio Jets to Brazil The Postal Service Bright Eyes The Juliana Theory I have seen all but Bright Eyes live.
  11. 1. To get the Bastilla holocron, you have to tell Atton that Reven was dark side, male. Then when you're on . Carth makes different appearences if you say Reven was good (male or female, although what scenes you get vary on what gender you said Reven was). 2. The influence system is not screwed. There are certain places that allow you to gain influence with Bao-Dur, you have to have him in your party at that time. Go to gamefaqs.com and look for the influence faq or post. That's what I've been using. 3. No. I am assuming there was going to be something there, but it got cut. 4. The guide is wrong? I don't have the guide so I have no idea. 5. Mira is there because the Ebon Hawk crashed and I guess she fell out of the ship or something. The game gives no explination if Bao-Dur is dead or not, just that his fate is unknown. So if it makes you feel better, he becomes a tap-dancing monkey. Nothing that you mentioned above would be a bug. A bug is when your game freezes, crashes, or does something it's not supposed to. My game has been working fine, so I can't help you out there.
  12. I like tidy endings but cliffhangers leave me coming back for more. I was insane for a long time trying to figure out what the hell happened after Metal Gear Solid 2: sons of liberty. Snake Eater really cleared a lot of that up. In that case, I enjoyed having a cliffhanger, even though it made me insane. I like both types of endings, it just depends on the game and how they handle it.
  13. I would disagree. I thought the characters in KOTOR2 were one of the best aspects of the game. They were very well developed and the voice acting was great as well. Even though Kriea pissed me off sometimes, I never felt like I was being lectured as with Bastilla and Carth. But that was just her character, she was supposed to make you think about your actions and evaluate the situation from all angles before making decisions. Bastilla and Carth just wanted you to be goodie-goodie. Now I'm not trying to say that the characters in Kotor weren't well developed, they were. I am more partial to the characters in Kotor2. Yes, I am one of the few people who like the influence system as well. I do agree with you about T3. He definately has a lot of personality. The plot of the game seemed easy to find in conversations. It was the individual characters backgrounds that you had to influence to get. I much prefer the influence system to the timed system in the first game. In the first game, I never did finish everyone's backstory. The influence system gives you more control over the characters stories. Besides, it is the dialogue trees and characters that made me start this game again. It is refreshing to see someone actually articulate why they liked the first one more rather than "i hated teh ending it was teh SUCK!!!" While I do think the ending wasn't as good as the first, I do see more replay value in this game. When I played Kotor, I only played through it once, reloaded at the unknown planet and played the second ending. What I like about Kotor2 is that I'm getting a different experience the second time through, instead of having one thing to do that can be handled light or dark, there are different sides you can choose and then handle that side light or dark.
  14. Yeah, Bao-Dur doesn't seem to be able to wear any robes or armor that doesn't restrict force powers. But not all force powers are restricted by armor. It does sort of suck, though.
  15. If you say Reven was male DS, To my knowledge, that is the only time it shows something.
  16. Yes. To convert your crew members, you have to have high influence with them. It doesn't matter what side you are on, you can convert them light or dark. There are certain spots that give you influence with certain characters. I'd figure out which ones you want to convert and the spots where you get influence before you get too far into the game.
  17. I was under the impression that Reven took the Ebon Hawk to the Outer Rim, and then sent it back. That's why Besides, wasn't it cool having the Ebon Hawk? It'll suck if the 3rd game has a different ship. Then again, maybe it's time to move on. But I thought it was great having the Ebon Hawk back in the game, so bravo to whatever lame excuse they used to put it there.
  18. I'm not sure what meditation you learn with T3. The Diciple's meditation is used to regenerate your force points (fills up the blue bar). Not that it mattered by the time I got him, because I mostly used the force regeneration form. Also, by the end of the game force wave + force storm was so powerful, I don't see why you'd use anything else. I never got battle precognition, but whatever. If you play light side you get quests that dark side doesn't get, it just adds to the replay value.
  19. Actually, I played the game LS and I got Kreia to answer most of those questions for me early on. I didn't take her out on Nar Shadda because I already had 2 jedi with me so I did good stuff without getting nagged at. It wouldn't make sense for the PC to send her away. Your PC thinks that if Kriea dies, that you will die. So even if you knew Kreia was not so good, you didn't want her to go off and die somewhere. At least that's what I got from the game.
  20. I killed them all before I played as the Remote so I didn't have that problem. Sorry!
  21. The quest should be completed in the journal after you talk to Vogga. But completing the quest doesn't change what NPCs say. They still say the same things about Telos citiadel station not having enough fuel.
  22. I got T3 to show that toward the end of the game. There is a dialogue option that says something like "T3, how did you get here?" It happens after T3 zaps HK47 for looking into why the navicomputer was voice locked. It was through that dialogue that I saw the recording of Carth. I hope that helped, I really don't remember the specific conversation. I do remember after it plays, you can say "Friend of yours?" but T3 doesn't remember how that recording got there, just that it's there. Poor T3!
  23. I played the first Kotor on easy mode. I played Kotor2 on normal, and found it easier than the first one. Something is wrong there, but then again, I would have set the game down to easy if it had been as hard as the first one. Credits & items were found so easily in containers and in remains that I never went shopping because I found good stuff to give to my characters. I also didn't do the swoop racing because I wasn't in need of credits, although the swoops seemed harder this time around. What I did find hard was Other than that, it was easier than the first one, but I do think the story and interactions with the NPCs made up for it. Even the last levels were easy. Force wave & force lightning would take out rooms full of guys, and my jedi class was middle of the road.
  24. My fiance played where Reven was a ds male and on Korriban if you blow open a door you get a holocron of Bastilla talking about how Reven left the Star Forge and those who had tried to control it died. I played where Reven was ds female and in talking to T3M4 saw a recording of Carth talking about Reven leaving as well, saying that he still had faith in what she used to be and some other stuff. I probably should have paid more attention. Should I be putting that in spoiler tags? It's the spoiler board, so I don't know. If I do let me know & I'll edit. Thanks.
