I'm watching Anaheim @ Detroit right now. It's good to have real NHL hockey back. Now I wish I didn't have to go to work tonight.

I wonder if they'll keep Hiro from really mastering his powers for a while still. Although it would be much cooler if Future Hiro appeared sooner rather than later, I can see why they're keeping him in kind of the doofus role. As for the Hiro plot, I bet by next episode they're already starting to play up the love triangle more.

Pixies - Further fodder that Kim Deal was behind the demise of the band first time around. She's playing a headless bass. Ouch.

The NHL is going to re-examine the schedule for next season. From what I've read, either divisional games will drop from eight to either six or seven. Supposedly this will clear up the space for all team to get in at least one game against each other.

The japanese girl is way hotter than Maya. They just need to let her hair down. Plus she doesn't ooze black stuff from her eyes.

That's the point I was trying to make, genious. They'll stand for the humourous bits with Hiro, because they're familiar with the character, but will they change the channel when Paco and Senorita are doing their schtick?

And I wonder how long it's going to take the noobs to make it to America. Between episodes one and two they've already hit Mexico. At first I thought the whole plot itself was on the sketchy side, but after last night I think it's getting better. One twin causes the plague, the other cures it. I sure hope they speak English, though. American tv viewers don't really care for subtitles too much.

What are you playing now?
Yes, young padawan, you have learned. I'm putting off playing game seven of the western conference final against the Blackhawks. The winner of the next game goes on to play Philly ( ) in the Cup final.

It's possible that this new villan could be the other power mimic Claude mentioned in season one.

There's a report that next year we could be seeing Tampa and the Pens playing two games in Prague. I'm not against european expansion, but I don't like the regular season starting up overseas while the rest of the NHL is still finalizing pre season activities. And it turns out I'll be missing the season opener for the Oilers because of work. That sucks.

What are you playing now?
Oh yeah. I tried that a few times. Even right up to the finals. But nothing. I tried it again yesterday, and after a few reloads it seemed to work. Now I just need to start the damn post season.

I don't get how EA manages to release their hockey games every year with insanely huge bugs. Two years ago you could only change or pull the home team's goalie, even as the visiting team. How does that get by the testers? Well, I'm not sure if it's a bug or I'm just one easy button click away from the post season. Sometimes I tend to miss the obvious, although spending the last two hours going through EAs' forums didn't turn up any help either...

So I finish out my regular season on NHL 08 last night, and then....nothing happens. The playoffs won't start!! Boooooo!

The Ducks lose their first game of the season, and one of my teams in my hockey pool picked up five points! I'm liking this season so far.

Jebus! It's the day before the season starts and this thread is deader than Hades' sex life!! You have all forgotten the faces of your fathers. I'm amazed nobody even has posted about the hit on Dean McAmmond from the other night. Vicious, for sure, and totally unwarranted. Of course maybe if McAmmond hadn't been admiring his sweet little pass... And I hope all the new faces on the Oilers mesh well. Between the rookies and the free agent signings, there's going to be a few familiar faces and a lot of line options for MacTavish this year. Which is never a good thing.

I really, really detest the shootouts. I'm just plain horrible at them, although I have picked up 14 points in ot/shootout losses. Game 81 is beckoning for me right now. In my first season the Oilers record is 42-24-14.

I still haven't migrated to the XBOX live for the 360. Yet? So Hurly and/ or the Krookinator could probably fill you in on that. Seriously, though, about the hitting. You should still try to make more hits. It clears open ice. And creates turnovers and breakaways!

This IS NOT what is supposed to happen: This IS what is supposed to happen: You need to hit more often, Deraldin. And, assuming you're playing the 360 version, try using the R button and the skill stick to poke check the puck away from a player. Or use the left button to go down to one knee to block a shot. As for not being able to strip anyone of the puck, you do realize you're playing with the Habs, right? Not a very imposing team to say the least. Is Markov still on their roster?

After rewatching a few selected scenes from last night, I'm gonna side with Piddy on this one. Plus its an easy explanation that Nate dove off the building with Kaito and then flew away. Good odds say he doesn't have to crack the sound barrier every time he jets off. And it's not like Nate hasn't been tempted to try to do something about members of the company before. He did try to bring Linderman to justice in the 'six months back' episode from season one, along with his father. I wonder if we'll ever find out what ability Nakamura senior possesed. Dark, yet somewhat good Nathan is pretty cool so far. I wonder if bugs get stuck in his beard?
