Nope, Krook, he's still one of the few UFAs left, along with Bertuzzi and Souray. And it looks like Nylander signed with Washington, not the Oilers. Ah well, we've got enough soft euros on our team right now.

Off the top of my head, Bertuzzi, Nylander, lead the list of who's still available. Who's going to step into Hannan's shoes in SJ now, Hurly?

Weight is starting to lose a step, but can still feather a pass like you wouldn't believe, Hurlshot. He never really acclimated to his Carolina linemates last year. But he and Tkachoook have got a pretty decent chemistry between them. Their top line might have a fast enough skater for a forecheck now with the addition of Kariya.

Movies You Have Seen Lately
I caught the Passion Of The Christ for the first time since seeing it in theatres. I forgot its basically a torture film.

Happy Canada Day!!
I spent my Canada day evening selling beer and spirits for double wages. My other job technically considers the 2nd to be the stat, so I'll get near triple time tomorrow. Score!!

Actually Deraldin Jagrs' contract isn't as steep as it may seem. Washington still pays for a fair chunk of it, I believe. And Ryan Smyth signs with the Avalanche? My first reaction is to giggle on the inside a little. What's he gonna do when Joe Sakic retires in a year or two? And the Rangers/Philly may look like the winners of the day, but IMHO Toronto made the best move, signing sparkplug Jason Blake to a five year deal. That guy can do it all, just about by himself.

Wow, and here I thought this morning that things were going to be relatively quiet on the NHL front, first day of free agency and all. I still haven't read up on the Drury/Gomez signings, but seeing Jason Smith and Lupul go to Philly for Pitkanen and Sanderson made me take a step back. I was all on the bandwagon for taking Pitkanen. Seeing Smith go the other way was unexpected, to say the least. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Gator for years of bleeding copper and blue. You will be missed, el capitaine!

Are you in Van or Victoria, Oerwinde?

I wonder who'll win the bidding war for Gomez? And I'd like to see where Smytty will rest his mullet as well.

Happy Canada Day!!
Hey, Krookie, you must use the phrase 'eh' at least once per post in this thread, please. Just to you know, keep it real.

Happy Canada Day!!
It's that time of year again, folks. For those of you who don't live in the great white north, we usually spend this weekend sitting around the house drinking beer in a wife beater tank top and bermuda shorts. Plus we don't have to go to work Monday! I'd like to give a shout out to my Canucks on the board. You know who you are.

What are you playing now?
I say this alot, but I really need to switch my live account over to the 360. A buddy is going to lend me Crackdown soon.

What are you playing now?
Well, the Warriors game should keep CTJK off the streets and out of jail. For a few hours at least.

Games you are looking forward to
Gar, how could I forget those! And how was the Champloo game? I heard it doesn't have anything to do with the series? Agreed, I just wish that we didn't have to do that stoopid Pelenor Fields level. Taking down all those elephants sucked.

Blood Diamond. Decent movie that gives you a lot to think about.

TV: Heroes
Origins is meant to fill the void when the show would otherwise be on hiatus.

What are you playing now?
It took numerous attempts over the course of the past three days, but I finally managed to beat the first normal map of the Vector TD tower game. I'm really starting to develop a love/hate affair for this one.

Games you are looking forward to
One's good, but a little raw. Two really seemed to nail things down. The third is allright, although I'm not liking the new races as much as the old ones.

I'll agree most movie games blow monkey nuts, but you can't include the Spider-Man movie games on that list.
