  1. People help me with this. In 2 cutscenes on the EH, we see 1.) GOTO blast Remote into a million pieces and 2.) HK-47 get wasted by the the other droid (sorry name escapes me he is the R2 D2 clone) once HK-47 figures out something about him. But once these cutscenes are over everything is just fine as if _nothing_ happened. Any thoughts?
  2. Nothing personal against you...if you enjoy the game and think it's a good product, then that is cool by me. However, I played KOTOR and the sequel quite a bit and I can promise you that both the framerate and load time has not improved. To say they have is simply not true. I also disagree with your 'better interaction with NPCs' statement. The interaction did not change from KOTOR to the sequel. You still run into rampant dialauge loops. What I mean is that even when you pass major plot points in the game, NPCs still give you the same options as before. A prime example of this is Visas. It drove me nuts to talk to her even when I resolved the plot points in her conversation options. This is one example, so please don't tell me the interaction aspect has gotten better. Also, please explain what changes were made to improve the animations in combat? I am curious about this. Look, I think you like the game and posted here to defend it because most people here have issues with it. That's cool. However, I simply think your points for the most part are false.
  3. You are incorrect. This is an influence system. Here is a definition for you. "A power affecting a person, thing, or course of events". Your character DOES NOT for the most part affect your party members. If you do not continue the conversation trees according to how the NPCs want you to answer them, you get shut out of their storylines. This is especially true on the DS playthrough. I know because I have played through both sides. What you get is influence failure for Kreia, Atton, and Disciple just off the top of my head. I am sorry, but you should be able to influence through fear just as you influence through care. You are supposed to be this powerful dark Jedi, yet you just let everyone slide when they won't answer your questions? That is simply because the influence system is not correct. _YOU_, the leader and central figure of this game, do NOT influence almost anyone.
  4. Yes a glitch faq is already up that touches on some of the myriad of QA oversights go to www.gamefaqs.com and check out the game under the xbox section
  5. In what way is the game far more ground breaking that Fable? Prehaps this game broke new ground in making it where you can kill most enemies by just standing far away enough to shoot them and letting them just look at you while they die. Or prehaps it is the innovative influence system (especially when playing Dark Side) that lets you pretty much alienate 75% of your party members by just faithfully role-playing a Dark Jedi. Better yet, perhaps it is the outstanding endgame that this game offers...but we all knew that right? Please point out the trails blazed by TSL that will forever change the face of RPGs. I guess I am too slow to see them for myself.
  6. Exactly. Based on this, for all we know LucaasArts gave this 'reviewer' a free xbox and game 'just to try it out and write a piece on it'. A+ across the board? Come on people think about how many games you have played on any platfrom that you would say was the perfect gaming experience from control to gameplay to story. This game, while having its good points for sure, is not even close to being A+ across the board.
  7. I read this post and I tell you..you nailed it right on!!!! Mira defeats the wookie, and runs off...and according to Kriea she lives a long just life (in my LS ending)..well how in the world did she get off the exploding planet???? I mean come on already!!! Also, the whole bit with the droid standoff where the bomb was going to be triggered was just left hanging...but the world blew up anyways. If you go back and look at the movies you can watch, I believe one is called death or destruction of the Ebon Hawk. This shows the EH crippled from the crash landing then falling into a green pit..killing Atton and all the rest. Yet Kreia states they all live at least past this. Then when the game ends here comes the Ebon Hawk in great condition as you fly off into the sunset so to speak. What???? Are you kidding me??? I feel that Obsidian was working on this ending part and had it done where Mira was running to help I assume..and the droids were waiting for a standoff. Then Obsidian got a call stating "finish this game now we want it out for Xmas" from LucasArts. So the Devs scripted a quick text-based ending for the game and pulled the Ebon Hawk out of thin air to take your PC away. This in itself should make reviewers think twice about giving this game 9/10s and 4.5 out of 5s. Are these reviewers paid off in sublte ways to make sure a big time game gets props or do they actually not play the whole game they review? I honestly would give this game a 6 or 7 out of 10...there are major flaws and I don't rank this up there with some of the great RPGs of our time.
  8. WARNING: This post is not for the people who think this game is the best thing since sliced bread. If you are someone who enjoys this game and has no problems at all with the bugs and gameplay issues, then I am glad you got your money
  9. ah, haters will be haters.....I love this game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I am somone who thinks this game was rushed out the door in order to make the holiday buying season. Therefore gameplay and storylines were not completely QAd. I am not a hater, and if you loved this game then your money was spent well. I just think that for my 50 dollars the quality of the game should have been better.
  10. If you are a fan of good RPG endings, like me, then I must warn you that the ending to this game may leave something to be desired. Just my opinion.
  11. I meant what I said..it is broken. But it is true that how could something be broken that did not work in the first place. This is a _role playing game_. If you play the Jedi on the side of the Light, your peace and inherent good should influence the people following you in a like fashion, especially once you find out more about who you are in this game. But that is not the case. To influence a party member you have to answer the conversations like you think they would want you to...it does not matter if you want to help out the embattled leader because you will lose influence with a ceertain party member if you choose to do the right thing. YOU, playing the role of the beacon of good or the sum of all evil, are supposed to influence your party. In this game you do not.
  12. This for me was the single most frustrating aspect of this game...because influence plays such a huge role in getting your party's storylines fleshed out you had to try to please everyone at the same time..yet you are supposed to be a leader who makes anyone not matter light or dark follow and die for you.
  13. Got mine about 16 hours in...Dual wielded green sabers because when I put blue in the left saber it would never retract...so when the battle was over the right saber would retract back down but the left one would not.
  14. Played Halo 2 Saturday at a lan party...my xbox was on 9 hours. On 3 different times less than 20 minutes into KOTOR 2 the game freezes up. Not any of the other 20 or so games I own for the Xbox has ever locked up one time. Game was not QAd completely..it is not a hardware issue.
