Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 3
Gromnir replied to ShadySands's topic in Computer and Console
the developers made almost no effort to balance wotr, save for adding stat bloat. am not a fan o' the runaway stat bloat, but am understanding how we get bosses with +80 ac and +50 save modifiers. we recent played around with creating a level 20 angel oracle (no multiclass) and achieved +70 ab and +100 ac. 'cause o' owlcat's quirky implementation o' pathfinder rules and the plethora o' god-tier level 100t, not to mention the nonsensical game breaking potential o' a few mythic + ________ combos, a player may metagame insane high attack bonuses and dcs while simultaneous generating improbable stacking debuffs. no doubt owlcat made wotr with the recognition that soon after release o' the beta, people would discover exploits and post such info... which is exact what happened. is unavoidable that each unbalanced archetype and each new level offers increasing options to break the game. this is why on higher difficulties it is the lower level boss battles which is the most troublesome-- your options when confronting an unfair shield maze water elemental and hosilla is limited. the ordinary player who is unaware o' all the metagamey nonsense is gonna see stat bloat and be discouraged. reasonable. it would seem owlcat didn't make the game for ordinary players. owlcat correct assumed that players would learn the exploits and as such stat bloat was no doubt deemed necessary to make at least a few battles challenge worthy, but the developers were clear ok with the reality they were giving a big middle finger salute to more casual players. again, am suspecting from owlcat pov stat bloat were not so much unfair as a necessary evil. got a sp game with reload so the odds is already skewed in favor o' the player compared to tabletop pnp. add mythic and a whole bunch o' archetypes and splat book stuff most reasonable pnp game masters would disallow save with restrictions to a game already favoring the player compared to pnp and the owlcat folks no doubt felt they had to do something to maintain some kinda challenge level. many/most owlcat fans view balance as a vulgar term, and stat bloat is owlcat's crude effort to balance the game, although most casual (sane) players won't see it that way. as an aside, now that skalds is mostly unbugged, the stat bloat for bosses is even more reasonable. the skald ability to share rage powers with a party has not been exploited much by players 'cause as often as not it ain't been working, but a high level skald is able to buff a melee party with not only basic inspired rage which provides significant increases to attack bonus but also abilities such as the lethal stance line and beast totem abilities, resulting in increased attacks, ac and critical threat range. skalds beat brown fur arcanists as far as party buffs is concerned and they is also quite competent in melee combat, though w/o multiclass they won't genuine be pulling their weight during the early levels o' the game, and skalds (other than court poets) is one class it is extreme costly to indulge even a one level dip. again, am not a fan o' stat bloat, but if the fan base is rabid opposed to balancing abilities available to players, owlcat has limited options for making the game challenging for players who indulge in meta or those who is already well-versed in pathfinder. HA! Good Fun! -
similar age. gonna say the pov o' folks in a rural farming/ranching community were decided not celebratory. try and keep a 1970s ranch or farm running w/o petrol is a challenge, and when you live remote and basic needs is in best o' times delivered less than predictable by folks such as @Keyrock to small local feed stores, folks who is also now having difficulty finding fuel, you might suspect critical shortages would begin to occur. rural and poor folks is, as is usual, the ones hit hardest when multinational trade organizations or Presidents decide to measure their manhood in a trade war or similar. meanwhile, folks in cities would have the price o eggs or cheese rise by a few pennies and they would be forced to go to the park on sundays as 'posed to a road trip... maybe need use public transportation a bit more frequent. is no reason why an eight-year-old @Gorthwould be aware o' how tough the situation were for similar aged kids living in the rural US, and am suspecting folks elsewhere had it even worse than we did. regardless, were not just a walk in the park for many. ... as an aside, horse collars and manual plows is most assured not as ez to use as they look in old movies n' such. horses don't just natural take to a horse collar and plow, and those pieces o' equipment were likely in a sorry state o' repair, having not been used serious for decades, and often needing be shared 'mongst neighbors. aside, we were young enough such that it weren't 'til late seventies when the intentional insanity o' MAD began to sink in to our psyche, as often as not at 2am accompanied by some poor remembered but vivid nightmare. such swell memories makes us wanna punch the nose o' those who suggests a return to MAD or some kinda 21st century nuclear deterrent stance as being a swell idea. morons. HA! Good Fun!

prince andrew and alan dershowitz are more immediate at risk o' fallout than clinton or trump, but is hard to predict who gets named by people trying to make deals. gonna admit we have followed this case almost not at all. is nothing novel 'bout the law, and our curiosity 'bout sex trafficking is minimal. am realizing there is extreme public figures involved, but am nevertheless disinterested... save for when we see dershowitz on tv commenting 'bout the merits o' the cases 'gainst maxwell or a british royal. unrelated: HA! all the weird bugs is why we feel no guilt 'bout respec. sure, you likely reference the respec bugs, which is why we ordinarily hold off on a respec unless am hitting some kinda imprecise threshold o' frustration, but has been too many builds rendered ineffectual by a bug, or less efficacious by a patch which were s'posed to fix a bug but did not. is also the situation such as recent when skalds sudden became viable, which had not been the case for the entire beta and near three months post release; were no chance in hell we would restart a game past act i just to take advantage o' skald build for a companion, but respec were legit. am agreeing that respec a bad character build carries with it a taint, but if the reason the character build is bad is 'cause o' owlcat ubiquitous bugs, curious implementation and wonky fixes, then our guilt decreases to zero. will also note a few bugs required a respec to be cleared post patch. camellia as a spirit hunter could get dazzling display through a hex, but on a reload that hex would disappear, replaced by the dreaded question mark icon on her character tab. eventual the problem were fixed, but you had to respec to benefit from the fix. is a similar bug with animal companions taking the tandem trip feat, which may only be cleared with a respec. no guilt 'bout using respec in such cases. and frankly am feeling kinda like an idiot for restarting a new character when our recent azata run includes a save from immediate pre mythic level three choice, a save which has access to all mythic paths. yeah, is likely our aeon run is gonna involve yet another exciting journey through the shield maze *groan* but our smarter and wiser self wonders why am forcing our self to endure such yet again when we could simple respec at the start o' act iii. is an owlcat game and until virtual all class feature bugs is addressed, chances are the taint which would ordinarily accompany respec will remain near insignificant. in fact, am kinda grousing at the potential need to pay for respec considering is owlcat implementation which most often compels us to make use o' the feature. good news, you possible get a second bite at the apple. gonna admit we feel bad for sosiel when we world map travel and have lann in party. sosiel's existence offends lann and while am sympathizing with the mongrel to a degree, if were a pnp rpg, we most assured woulda' taken efforts to talk to lann alone and try and convince him that being bitter 'bout his existence were a valid personal choice and he were justified in feeling as if his lot were unfair, but to constant snipe at sosiel as if the priest o' shelyn were responsible for lann's burdens were equal unjust and unfair. failing such efforts to convince lann to change, chances are we woulda' ditched him... or perhaps we woulda' told him that behind his back camellia were mocking his appearance and lack o' social graces. am suspecting a guileless lann would turn his attention towards camellia and as such our lann problem would be disappeared in short order. HA! Good Fun! -
that would make more sense. oddly enough, no bk at coronado, so we would not have made the connection. HA! Good Fun!

were never complete clear o' ray lewis involvement other than his undisputed role in covering up a murder, which by itself shoulda' been more than enough to destroy any kinda rep or legacy. add Big Game then need add roethlisberger, but is way too many names for us to track with nba, nhl, nfl and mlb championship mvps added to the list. that said, am gonna suggest kobe bryant deserves consideration as well. ... (edit) crikey. can't hardly believe we forgot oj. HA! Good Fun!

am actual feeling some sympathy for vol. from our pov, vol went to a darker place during his last few years o' posting, but that is unlikely. chances are the vol in 2000 were only slight different than the 2018 edition. is our perception o' vol which changed based on his less guarded sharing o' how he felt 'bout particular issues. no doubt from vol pov, the treatment he were receiving in 2018 were unfair 'cause is not as if he had changed. oh well, we never had vol on ignore but we also never bothered to read his posts near the end save when such was quoted or when he responded direct to our posts. the thing is, am suspecting vol woulda' been indifferent if we had added him to our ignore list. as low as vol had sunk in our estimation, he didn't require an ego stroke from Gromnir and were unlikely to be offended by the use o' ignore, which we s'pose made him more admirable than a few current posters. ... even so, and am a tiny bit troubled by the admission, we don't much miss 2018 vol. that said, it probable isn't fair to take shots at vol now that he is gone and regardless is complete off-topic. done. HA! Good Fun!

genuine crazy is not something we lose much sleep over, 'cause is kinda impossible to predict what you might say or do to set off the person who takes advice from the 6' lobster living in their garage. angry and stoopid people is more plentiful than crazy. is all too many folks who bring guns with them to situations they know is gonna be volatile. irl we were threatened with murder many times and usual we didn't take serious. were never receiving death threats from a current or past client, but we did get threats from people offended by our choice o' clients. how many such people woulda' been angry enough to bring a gun with them when confronting us, y'know, just to protect themselves? dunno. too many if even one. regardless, not crazy, but predictable stoopid and angry. post university we lived in cities as were more convenient for us... right up until one day our sister, who had health problems and were living with us at the time, were confronted by one o' those angry people threatening Gromnir with murder. the thing is, once our sister were gone, we went back to same blasé attitude 'bout personal safety. if we ever need sell our house am gonna need hire a locksmith 'cause we have no idea where is the keys for our front door. haven't locked the front door for years save when going outta town. 'course our pov would change drastic if we had a family to protect. have embarrassed a few folks here and on other boards. have had to deal with their bruised egos-- typical for a week or two after some particular emasculating conflict we see such folks impotent rage post in our general direction. tedious. angry and stoopid. am s'posing we could face real life consequences from those needing convince themselves o' their manhood, or whatever. is reasonable and responsible to assume there is many people who is angry and stoopid enough to do violence. incontrovertible. gonna make more use o' ignore 'cause chances are the next time we see somebody post something monumental asinine, am gonna comment. yeah, chances are we face some kinda sisyphean trial as we attempt to explain something which should be self evident, and no doubt we will need endure the comically retributive squeaks o' rage from those who feel wronged, but am petty enough to not be overconcerned, even if am agreeing with the general sentiment that is we should be more wary o' stoopid and angry. as such, where is possible, ignore is probable our best option. HA! Good Fun!

if you are a die hard completionist and you exhaust all crusade battles early, then you could run into a problem. has happened to us twice, though admitted once were in the beta and is possible the problem were bug related. noteworthy: in act vi, if you are planning on doing the secret ending, the problem we mention actual becomes likely as 'posed to mere possible. the act vi hurdle may be overcome by the following: also, complete unrelated, is worth noting that for boss battles the grandmaster rod has an interesting quality which might be overlooked. use the rod nullifies any resistance or immunity, which means even if you are facing one o' the bosses which is immune to fear or energy drain or whatever, the grandmaster rod may be used to guarantee your spell overcomes both sr and the immunity/resistance. sure, it doesn't make sense that you could frighten a golem to death with weird or phantasmal killer, or successful level drain deskari with enervate, but the rod makes such possible. (edit) in fact, level drain demon lords is one o' our favorite tactics. remove six levels from a demon lord means their saves also drop by six. wanna end a demon lord in one round, then use madness domain and maxed and empowered enervate, in addition to other staples previous mentioned, and you will be able to baleful polymorph or weird nocticula and be guaranteed success. HA! Good Fun! -
you have clear never watched a horror film. make a statement such as the above is almost as likely as teens having sex to resurrect the moldering corpse o' a fell and tormented creature impossible lingering on the borders 'tween our world and hell. if oby and skarpen_one sudden once again contribute to these boards, we will be blaming you... or perhaps a pair o' sex starved interns doing qa at 2am at obsidian. lack o' unit diversity at start may not be a fair criticism. most strategy games start you off with limited units. one o' our favorite all-time rt strategy games is warhammer: shadow of the horned rat. for the first couple missions you got access to the grudgebringer cavalry and the grudgebringer infantry. that's it. reach a town after a couple missions and you get mercenary crossbowmen. in wotr there is no real crusade tutorial, so lack o' diversity is, one suspects, part o' the design o' what amounts to a functional tutorial stage. a player who needs learn mechanics by doing is not simultaneous overwhelmed by a discouraging number o' potential units that have strengths and weaknesses expressed only in numbers meaningless w/o context. too ez to pick wrong if you don't know, so the game doesn't force the player to make such choices. reasonable. but yeah, the wotr crusade system is woeful unbalanced and non-intuitive. do not attack too frequent or too soon 'cause you could wipe out all enemies too quick resulting in fatal morale drops as you spend too much calendar time not acquiring new outposts or defeating established armies. am s'posing there is some kinda ideal building construction strategy, but if there is it didn't seem to matter much 'cause we had a mage general and plenty o' archers. am bothered by fact there is a few choices which is functional you win button options. speaking o' which, azata generals gets song of seasons extreme early in act iii, which is one o' those win button powers-- functions a bit like the voice of renewal spell we mentioned earlier in that it simultaneous damages and heals. if your army survives turn 1, then the spell triggers and mass heal and mass damage occur simultaneous. converse, am recognizing just how ez it is to build a wrong army if you are a new player. try and figure out strengths and weaknesses o' units based on numbers provided in stat blocks is extreme misleading. a new player looking at only unit stat blocks tries and build a winning army? good luck. the thing is, wotr crusade system is close to being engaging. am able to see the potential. regardless, is not near as punishing as kingmaker, so am gonna take that as an unexpected win. HA! Good Fun! ps somebody also needs explain why the azata general capstone ability is... -
sadly we learned some time past that moderators cannot be ignored. is kinda contemptible to laugh at the weak and infirm, but we all too often indulge, and as there is no way to complete ignore the "attractive nuisance" situations, we do indulge our worst impulses from time-to-time. oh well. is our cross to bear. were not long ago (well, not long to old people and historian types) the nra were embracing reasonable firearm restrictions to promote safety and positive public outreach. the no compromise approach current embraced by the nra, somehow becoming linked with the bible no less, is a relative new thing. as recent as 30 years past, am having little doubt the majority o' nra folks woulda' found kyle rittenhouse actions deplorable even if they didn't believe he should be convicted o' murder. kyle were displaying anything but good judgement while carrying a firearm and would be nice if US gun culture were such that more nra members could admit such w/o being labeled as traitors to the cause, or somesuch nonsense. gun culture is increasingly linked to more extreme notions, which is unfortunate. teach your kid to hunt and observe responsible gun ownership has for centuries been part o' the way o' life in many parts o' the country, and is absolute nothing wrong with that reality. no compromise and cheering o' violence and stoopid is not how we were raised and we has watched with increasing disappointment how gun culture has steadily devolved... and is not just a grumpy old guy pov neither even though am needing to convince self o' that fact. HA! Good Fun!

probably less so than a couple years past. retirement took some edge off, but then again the trump years has been so unbelievable that is hard to pretend indifference, although gd does the ostrich bit with impressive verve. regardless, we decided we just don't have the need to do the sisyphus schtick. we got a few people on ignore and will likely add a few names. past due. easier. HA! Good Fun!

we don't get torqued by a bit o' political skew in an otherwise good film. dallas buyer's club, for example, may not have been wholly accurate, but jared leto, jennifer garner and matthew mcconaughey performances didn't become less good because o' creative liberties. HA! Good Fun!

we now got bruce on ignore, so only saw 'cause is quoted, but kinda found amusing to see wisconsin lumped in as liberal. milwaukee and the college towns is liberal, and biden got a narrow in in wisconsin, but the legislature is gop controlled and the wisconsin courts are almost cartoonish conservative. go to rural parts o' wisconsin (most o' the state from a geographic pov) and any true son o' the south is gonna feel right at home... save during the winter, when lake effect snow and bone chilling and pipe bursting cold is the norm. only reason we bring this up is 'cause am suspecting many folks not from the US thinks northern states is more liberal than southern, and while such is kinda true is becoming less and less true every year as tech companies movie south and bring their employees with 'em, shifting a few southern states purple. also am gonna note what gd's picture o' the doughnut/gun shop avoids showing you is the near guaranteed rack o' hats and t-shirts for sale emblazoned with the confederate flag. is one o' those reasons why red states is most assured not awesome. HA! Good Fun!

have literal watched nothing new in trek verse since we saw 1.3 episodes of discovery. couldn't help but feel like the showrunners musta' been subversive fight club fans. yeah, am aware the current trek creative folks is not genuine trying to destroy decades worth o' good will and a legacy o' tv quality (even the bad trek shows had great episodes) but it nevertheless feels like the current people directing the trek universe dislike trek and hate trek fans. HA! Good Fun! -
big short were enjoyable and mostly accurate, but the movie writers bent over backwards trying to avoid throwing clinton under the bus. you would think that the guy who championed the bank deregulation which the characters in the movie is constant lamenting would be getting more prominent attention, but nope. were just one example o' curious narrative choices. even so, were worth the viewing. Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 3
Gromnir replied to ShadySands's topic in Computer and Console
rare (though it does happen) have party immune, but we do sometimes have a few party members immune, which is curious. usual only happens party wide when we go through our entire prebuff ritual (not even always at that point,) and as often as not the insight bonus shows up regardless even if the combat log says a character were immune. am less concerned that arueshalae is immune to inspiring command if she nevertheless gets the +2 bonus from the ability. am suspecting there is a spell conflict, but we haven't bothered to check. on the other side of the balance, heroes never surrender is also refunding all non azata spells and abilities, including 9th level spells. will be curious to see how that functions with shady's mod. not positive on what is happening with joy of life as am thinking a recent patch changed the way that spell s implemented and we kinda stopped using. negative: favourable magic remains wonky as it does indeed provide the equivalent o' perpetual brilliant inspiration but it does not increase damage on a successful save, so your blaster ain't doing 75% damage on chain lighting when the foe saves. a few azata spells is most assuredly not designed for boosted caster level. voice of renewal, song of steel, moral support and the aforementioned heroes never surrender is the most obvious caster level/merged exploits we would anticipate. voice o' renewal will be spamable for a sorc and is low level, and with merged would be granting up to 30d6 aoe sonic damage and a party-wide 30d6 heal per cast. believe in yourself, the spell which boosts a single attribute score, would be serious broken as well, if it were working as described, but current it is linked to azata mythic level as 'posed to caster level, so max should remain a rather paltry +2 once you reach azata level 8, but who knows what kinda wacky happens with mods. if you have already played/beaten the game multiple times, why not play around with exploits and god mode kinda stuff? am personal avoiding mods but not based on some kinda moral or gaming purist stance but rather 'cause game is still in kinda a beta mode for all intents and purposes. am not certain if owlcat bothers to read bug reports or message board posts, if they ever did, but am trying to avoid mods until most o' the class feature bugs is expunged. however, am gonna repeat how shocked the current state o' the game has us, and we mean this in a good way. yeah, each new patch creates a new quest bug, but most o' the serious quest bugs has been addressed. if you had told us in late august that most quest bugs would be gone by christmas, we woulda' laughed at your optimism. is many spells and class abilities which is broken, and a few owlcat fixes is to simple declare broken is the new fixed by changing in-game descriptions to match broken. is doubtful all wotr spells and abilities is gonna be fixed, evar. is just too many things which need be fixed and at some point owlcat will decide the effort to fix is not worth the roi-- too busy working on next title or whatever. even so, the game, while still not fully cooked, is playable for for us personal and is in a far better state than we woulda' anticipated for a bit less than four months post release. HA! Good Fun! ps am kinda personal going in the opposite direction o' power enhancing mods as we increase the difficulty before the boss fights. the game is enough o' a slog such that we would consider seppuku if we needed do every fight on unfair, but for big fights am willing to crank up the difficulty a bit to give foes a fighting chance. am also probable gonna have our dual wielding aeon choose something like hand axes or some other less than ideal weapon type... though hand axes is an excellent choice very late game, when it don't genuine matter and you can stack just about any weapon with silly damage output. -
Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 3
Gromnir replied to ShadySands's topic in Computer and Console
the thing is, weird kinda kicks meteor swarm arse in a game like wotr. meteor swarms has a tendency to result in post cast regret as they do fire and bludgeon damage over a considerable area and the potential for friendly fire pain exceeds even that o' clashing rocks. weird, on the other hand, is free o' the friendly fire concerns and almost as much as owlcat placed gear in the game to take advantage o' fire, they did so same for phantasmal killer/weird. mephistopheles robe gives a debuff v. fear and robe o' determination reduces fort saves. is a magician's rings which adds +2 to illusion spell dcs. an azata blaster is capable o' achieving dcs for illusion spells in the low 50s. on unfair, deskari has something like +50ish will and fort saves, which is worse than playful darkness. with a few debuffs and the madness domain power, it is possible to reduce demon lord saves by +20 points, making it functional a guarantee to one-shot 'em with weird. is admitted kinda anti-climactic. 'course there is a bunch o' critters immune to fear effects, and for them you better be prepared with a character who is blaster capable, but most o' the bosses is subject to weird. am knowing it were not gonna be possible anytime soon, but the wacky mechanics o' wall o' lava is maybe the one direct damage spell we never expect to see implemented, but nevertheless would love to see in a pathfinder game. need a real z axis and flying creatures, which is a large % o' higher level critters, simple ignore the wall in a large enough space, but is nevertheless having whimsy appeal and like grease it ignores sr. aside, skalds are finally working as described, at least they are based on limited testing. being able to party share beast totem powers is making an animal companion heavy party practical demand a skald as you is adding a bunch o' natural attacks, stacking natural armour and damage bonuses, as well as adding pounce, so dogs and wolves (in particular) become sooper powered with a skald in the party. the capstone for skalds, other than court poet, is one o' the better powers in the game as it erases the negative impact o' rage on spell/ability use and grants perma haste while raging. seeing as there is a mythic feat called limitless rage, you is gonna be enjoying the party sharing benefits constant. only potential downside is the fact skalds (again, other than court poet) is almost demanding to be given 20 levels, so if you like multiclass shenanigans, skald might be a tough call. am also thinking it will be difficult to have lann as anything other than a divine hunter in our future parties. oh sure, we like the celestial velociraptor benefiting from smite, but more significant am also kinda addicted to a few o' the domain powers, and sosiel is the only joinable who benefits from domains unless you multiclass. am needing community domain. period. sosiel or another high wisdom character is gonna need add the community domain in any wotr run we attempt. guarded hearth is the single best buff in the game. am also kinda a fan o' animal companions, the nobility domain AND the madness domain. am s'posing you could have sosiel take impossible domain four times, but such would undercut his overall efficacy as a caster and healer. if you multiclass lann it makes sense to do so with inquisitor, hunter, cleric or druid. divine hunter may cast domain spells spontaneous, and he will have access to impossible domain, so divine hunter it is. is now a a whole bunch o' dinosaur bones in the game, but we kinda got in the habit o' having nenio craft legendary proportion scrolls to avoid the bone requirement. am not sure why we keep crafting'em but by the end o' our azata run we had more than two dozen dinosaur bones in inventory w/o ever purchasing 'em and we also had more than a dozen extra legendary proportion scrolls... 'cause? gonna need adjust our nenio scroll crafting scheme for our aeon run. regardless, weird is kinda silly powerful given the gear available in the game. 'course taking advantage o' weird is again requiring all kinda metagamey silliness, but wotr is a pathfinder game and a pathfider crpg from owlcat at that. from wotr we expected best spells and best weapons and best domains and best... HA! Good Fun! -
Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous, Part 3
Gromnir replied to ShadySands's topic in Computer and Console
the belt is arguable the best choice even if you aren't personal playing a blaster, 'cause then chances are you got either ember or nenio kitted as a blaster. and yeah, the developers appear to wanna convince you to use fire. the treacherous flame gloves are admitted an act v thing, but they kinda feel like overkill with all the other fire boosting gear available in previous acts. were potential even worse before the developers downgraded the mephistopheles gear. fire is our choice for a kinda "best blaster," particular for anybody with arcane trickster levels, although cold remains a serious contender if you is capable o' wielding a shield and can wear armour, but the overabundance o' fire stuff is kinda glaring. am extreme disappointed waterfall doesn't work as one would expect, 'cause 'tween cold versions o' chain lightning getting the benefit o' boosted cold dcs and mass icy prison now working as per the spell description, a cold blaster woulda' been a contender for the top spot, but such is perhaps being greedy as a cold focused arcane trickster/sorcerer is more than capable o' reducing even demon lords to frosty stains at hard level difficulty in two rounds, two rounds if you get bad rolls. we mentioned the sword 'cause it has a unique property which is easily missed. who woulda' thunk that seelah or your pc paladin could add +3d6 unholy damage to radiance by having the short sword in a weapon slot not current being utilized? HA! Good Fun! ps speaking o' items, perhaps atypical for our azata blaster we used the plague of madness staff almost exclusive once we acquired in act iii. the free max and empower on every 3rd cast o' same spell is particular advantageous to a blaster.
