  1. I assume he felt he was tidying up .. importing an off-topic comment from another thread. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> looks off-topic here... and is simply repeat of another post... so is spam. sometimes the mods get a little... strange. is not all that much activity here in any event, so lord only knows why there is such a need to tiddy things up. regardless, we gets back on-topic... spoilers ahead x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x didn't like the UBG for nwn2. why go cheap and make Guardian easy evil? has Guardian simply be carrying out his impossible goal of trying to save/preserve a dead empire and you got a better bad guy w/o all the shadow weave nonsense. heck, you can even keeps in all the undead... only way to resurrect a dead civilization maybe would be through undeath. *shrug* could have been far more sympathetic, w/o loss of threat. HA! Good Fun!
  2. thanks. further proof of what we were talking 'bout. in any event, you can goes and look up pictures of biowarians from gencon and e3 and even from company picnic. is not pretty. hockey is real popular in kanada. find lots of fat and slow guys playing flag football or softball here in States, so why not have similar thing going on in kanada. and yeah, we does know of one or two guys at bio who coulds pick up a baseball and not throw like a girl... or run up 5 flights of stairs w/o risk of coronary, but list is small... very small. as a group they is pretty darn unathletic. HA! Good Fun!
  3. what were the point of fin's spam? anybody? HA! Good Fun!
  4. Link? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> to be fair, it don't take much to get banned from bio these days. that being said, rift obviously gots an axe to grind... which ain't always a bad thing. those slightly over-the-top fans who gots some touch o' fanaticism can be useful for sparking debate, but am not sure why every board gots to have one guy who inevitably goes off deep end and simply wants to use boards to grandstand... "see, i was right. (insert developer name) has once again proven just how incompetent/idiotic/evil they really are." *shrug* we suspect that continued support o' nwn2 will depend mostly on sales. if sales is bad, then no 'mount of whimpering from rift or anybody else will gets increased support beyond what we gots now. if sales is good, then atari will want the almost free money that comes with expansions for a succesful game... and nothing the obsinaties or atari folks do now will impact sales o' nwn2. can't rebuild game through patches in hopes that some huge number of non-purchasers will hear 'bout improvements and buy. foolishness. HA! Good Fun!
  5. "Promising. " really? use film of a bunch o' half drunk and uncoordinated kanadian nerdlings sporting trash can lids and broom handles to be basis for visual representation o' combat for da? "promising?" has you seen the bioware crew? to gets a similarly unathletic group you would have to scour north america for polio victims... or maybe go to a comic book convention. ... if biowarians want feel of live combat, maybe they shoulda' simply watched a kanadian junior hockey game. 'course da would then probably lose teen rating. HA! Good Fun!
  6. am seated in front of computer and ask self, "ok, so what would be a good name for a barbarian kinda character?" 5 seconds later we types "Gromnir" into account registration form for old Interplay message boards. ... no more complicated or profound than that. HA! Good Fun!
  7. oh, and we still would like to see obsinaties add some way to access character profile and inventories of joinable npcs while pc is in flagon or keep. also, we cannot figure out why the developers seem unable or unwilling to discuss the missing feats. is not a big deal, but we has seen numerous threads at bio 'bout the missing feats and never once has we seen a developer response. keep in mind that we is only voicing concerns we thinks might be dealt with in a patch... or patches. we got loads of problems with game, but most such issues we got simply can't be addressed to Gromnir's satisfaction by patching. HA! Good Fun!
  8. keep in mind that the bags only had 24 slots up 'til recent patch... which meant that navigatiion issues were pretty much a non-factor. 'course, the fact that there were so few bags with so few slots made 'em far less useful than they shoulda' been. obsidian folks realize that for folks trying to hold onto crafting materials and scrolls for when they finally gets a wizard character joinable, as well as simply needing someplace safe to store 1007 following the module transition/purge (an issue that would'a been nice to have some adbanced warning 'bout,) they does a quick-fix and increase number of bag slots by a very large number... now you got something over 140. progression: 24 slot bag not need fancy navigation. low number of 24 slot bags were insufficient to meet player needs. obsidians "fix" problem in most obvious and easy way possible. +140 slot bags were not originally envisioned. is understandable that they not got better navigation and fix navigation would be much more difficult to work into a patch than were the simple adjustment of adding more slots to bags. a practical solution to a stoopid problem ends up causing some new issue? no surprise. new bags is far from ideal, but now that Gromnir knows when all of his stuff will be purged from keep and flagon containers we can use increased size bags to deal with the problems... though we gotta say that the mechanic for dealing with joinable npc inventories is still so bass ackwards and time consuming that we gets more than a little frustrated with the game. ... we may be forced to use crafting in future, just so we not have to go through pain of trying to shift appropriate equip between party members. what a waste. HA! Good Fun!
  9. sand were level 11 for Gromnir. wizards get lots of bonus feats, but 'stead of using for crafting we would use on the school focus stuff... probably necromancy. and no, bags were not cheap and plentiful in chap 1. only 3 in all of chap 1? pitiful. fact that something that only can really function as a gem bag/scroll cas should cost +800gp is highway freaking robbery. that being said, now that the 'mount they can hold has been multiplied by a factor of +5, the issue IS less of an issue. HA! Good Fun!
  10. bags in chap 1 were expensive... relative speeking. second, as we keep pointing out, it not bloody matter if you find a half dozen magic bags in final dungeon. transition 'tween modules is one of the biggest issues, and first time through game you not know when module is gonna end... or that loot in barells is gonna disappear with such a transition, so your claim that there were enough bags is clearly wrong. nuff bags at end of game does not mean that there were nuff bags. sorry, you lose... again. HA! Good Fun!
  11. sure you are. is no way to get the bags early enough to do good. chap 1 and 2? is no way you ever see a random magic bag drop in chap 1, which takes you up to 10th or 11th level... half of game. HA! Good Fun!
  12. what would Gromnir do if he did use crafting feats? 1) has elanee gets weapons and armour she can makes holy weapons (best weapon attribute in game) and flame weapons and any weapon worth noting save for vampiric regen, and if that is an issue we gots another solution. she also cannot makes armour of fortification... so no +5 mithril armour of fortification... but other than that. 2) use that crazy &$%@# qara for pretty much every other crafting need Gromnir hates qara. we talked her up and were nice to her and got our self a few extra chaos points for agreeing that yeah, neverwinter would be a much nicer place if it were on fire, and she still ended up being a nuisance. so, if we had a chance to do over, we would simply use every spell choice and feat choice to turn her into a crafter. how many good spells is there for wands? a few. don't overlook wands 'cause anybody with even a midling use magic device rank can use wands. got tired of using neeshka? simply creates a wand of knock... never need bash a chest again. use wand to casts stoneskins and displacements and improved mage armour... or whatever. somebody at bio claimed that you cannot make scrolls or wands of mirror image, which would be a major blow, but wands is still agreat option. is only a handful o' spells you wanna waste on such stuff, but they would be worth it. never makes wand for offensive spells... caster level will be too low to be worth cost. the gnome is actually a very good choice for wands, depending on how wands actually work in nwn2. grobnar can cast most of the good 4th level or lower buff spells, and for him greater heroism is a 4th level spell. how many other spells you need for cafting armour and woundrous items? again, is not many, and you can use scrolls for the stuff that requires caster level of 10 or less. heck, you can use her to makes the weapons of vampiric regen that elanee coulds not. use qara and elanee and pretty much the only item you might not be able to create is armour of fortification... which is okie dokie armour, but am not sure if we would waste weapons and armour crafting on the gith chick simply to create. also, the amulets of natural armour is needing barkskin spell and wondrous item feat... which pretty much means that you gives wondrous feat to elanee or simply do w/o natural armour items. HA! Good Fun!
  13. am not sure where you guys is finding all this crazy 1007 in chapter 1. better stuff than in shops like deekin's in chapter 1? where? is these like vol's imagined magic bags? best plate armour we FOUND up til almost very end o' chapter 1 were probably the full plate we got for free when casavir joined party. other armours we had to pay for. best other armours we recall: armour of loyalty as quest item, and chainmail +2 for killing logram. we miss something better in chap 1 (not including final battle... 'cause that pretty much makes that armour only useable in chap 2,)? btw, rogue links is chap 2, and really ain't all that great for tanks anyways. and again, for those complaining of ease of game who refuses to slide difficulty notch beyond hardcore, we can see how maybe you not need to buy better equipment... but we has chased you round that particular tree for far too long anyways. HA! Good Fun!
  14. gromnir, ironic or incongruous? taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> depends... does answering make Gromnir seems like an incredibly condescending, huge jerk? HA! Good Fun!
  15. personally, we don't know how so many of you can be outraged w/o having further info. number of thefts and cost of damage to nasa and others would seem to be important factors, but 'cause it is just govt. that is taking the hit, and 'cause it is just hacking, then you not thinks we is dealing with serious crimes? need more info. HA! Good Fun!
  16. Open the console and type in: DebugMode 1 showcomments Developer stuff, most of it is quite funny to read actually. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> oh, so we is simply talking 'bout minor aside comments. gotcha. HA! Good Fun!
  17. I think they are like DM descriptions. I've seen them in reference to Sand in the trial, and M-whatever ( ), specifically about actions which may be difficult to emulate in the game engine. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> if that kinda thing is in game, then why make difficult to activate... and why not makes default? HA! Good Fun!
  18. oh, and stealing from a living person's home does get you a bigger punishment... is the major diference 'tween burglary and theft. that being said, each count of grand theft in CA can be punished by up to 3 years (and CA is pretty typical.) grand theft requires monetary loss of $400 or more... or avacados. no joke. am not sure, but if we recall correct, vadalism gets same felony sentencing schedule as grand theft. a bunch o' break-ins will makes for big years. HA! Good Fun!
  19. "You are taking things out of context, as no individuals have actually seen their belongings or personal data messed with in any way." am not sure how you define "individual." the courts has given corporations and govt. entities almost as many legal rights as actual living people. steal from ibm or wallmart is still theft with big penalties and potential prison time... and vandalism in cyberspace is still vandalism. if these jokers commited even a dozen separate acts of theft, the punishments for those acts is gonna be added together, just as if you physically broke into wallmart a dozen different times. should not surprise anybody that we is talking big years... and just as the guy who stole from wallmart 12 times deserves 12x the prison time as somebody who did so once... *shrug* mail and wire fraud is where you sees really incredible potential sentences. some joker has a recorded message or mailing go out to a thousand people and each one of those mailings/calls can be carrying a substantial number of years. example: with the way the real estate market is suffering here in the States, we has seen a few fly by night lenders gets hit for bogus no-money-down loan schemes. based on wording of statute, potential prison time can run into the thousand year range real easy. HA! Good Fun!
  20. if you not use munchkin crafting to make uber armour and weapons, then buy stuff from deekin gets real expensive real fast. additional buy a handful of spells and some heal kits is gonna make your 30k disappear in a moment... and we not recall having 30k... 'less we sold every spare item we had, and as we didn't know who the future joinable npcs would be and how we woulds need to outfit them we could not simply sell every spare weapon and armour. total of 3 bags max in chapter 1... and spend +800gp for what were equivalent of a gem bag/scroll case were seeming more than a little nuts at the time... and when we planned to go back and gets magic pouch in chapter 2, after we had more gold to spend, the swamp inn were gone. go figure. 3 bags became 2. HA! Good Fun!
  21. btw, keep in mind that Gromnir is only talking 'bout hypocriscy of Americans taking a stand 'gainst genocide in other parts of world. there is more than 'nuff reasons for Americans to feel shameful and guilty 'bout current govt. relations with native peoples, but the notion that American policy in 1870 should bar current govt. from trying to prevent genocide elsewhere 'round the globe is one of the more asinine suggestions we seen made. HA! Good Fun!
  22. big surprise that the german chick turned out to be humorless? Gromnir were never a huge fan o' lanfear, but we started to dislike her right 'bout time that the submit-a-character contest board meltdown occured. she were one of the peoples complaining rather than congratulating. oh well, is probably not right for Gromnir to be critical when she is no longer 'round to defend herself. HA! Good Fun! btw, coran were a terrible bg1 Character. coran gots more backstory than any other joinable npc, but it turns out that he is a deadbeat dad w/o real regrets? we actually felt bad 'bout saving him in bg2.
  23. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> already did so. already has been stated that Gromnir's peoples would have gladly committed genocide on Crow if we could have managed it. HA! Good Fun!
  24. btw, there really ain't much random loot in nwn2. gem chests and scroll bookcases and relatively small items dropped by monsters will be random. as far as we can tell, magic bags (which is expensive) gots pretty much 0 chance of being a random drop until you is considerably past 10th level... just as blue diamonds is never random loot in gem chests in chap 1. HA! Good Fun!
  25. see a grimy homeless guy begging on corner and some people "feel" guilty for not being poor. people "feel" guilty that their brother or sister ended up in prison, and they ended up as a doctor or lawyer. people "feel" guilty for all kinds o' things that often ain't their fault. "Why should they benefit from his crimes and yet not be held accountable?" again, how far you wanna take this? a thief put his kids through college with money he stole from peoples. you want the great grand children of the thief to pay reparations? nuts. HA! Good Fun!
