there is a famous scene from witness for the prosecution (1957) which you likely never has seen but know even so 'cause has been done in variations a thousand times. "the question is, frau helm, were you lying then, are you lying now, or are you not in fact a chronic and habitual liar!" (will check internet) is verboten to attack the character o' a witness not 'cause we want politeness in court but 'cause to impugn character o' witness is deemed irrelevant and has a tendency to prejudice that witness in the eyes o' a jury. exception: propensity for falsehood is always relevant, which is one reason no lawyer would ever put trump on the stand to act as a witness in his own defense. regardless, the aforementioned scene, plays out everyday in courts 'cross the land, albeit with far less drama. impeach a witness as to their tendency for mendacity is relevant and allowable under the rules o' evidence in every US state as well as fed courts. however, is not some kinda objective standard. judge doesn't instruct jury to dismiss witness testimony if the witness lied 'bout their age on a facebook profile. assuming the witness offers a decent explanation which convinces the jury/judge they is telling the truth, such as speaking against their own interests, then a finder of fact may decide the testimony offered is reliable enuff. keep in mind that it is illegal to lie to the feds in most instances. by admitting he/she lied to feds, the witness exposed self to legal jeopardy. have witness explain why he/she were afraid o' speaking truthful to the feds may not be in trump's best interest, so the degree to which prospective defense attorneys seek to impeach on truthfulness is a tactical consideration which is all kinda schrödinger's cat at the moment. HA! Good Fun!

Trump worker told FBI about moving Mar-a-Lago boxes on ex-president’s orders kinda tough to not indict assuming is true, and given the recent doj filing which mentions evidence o' obstruction, am thinking the release o' this story is hardly coincidental. keep in mind indictment is so not same as conviction, but is difficult to explain why the doj would avoid charges o' the x-president given the former guy's public efforts at self-immolation as well as the reveal that somebody in trump's employ spoke to the feds and gave testimony which makes don's knowledge o' the existence o' additional documents marked as classified less o' a question. such testimony is also pretty freaking strong evidence o' trump intent. add in fact that doj believes trump has not yet turned over all documents marked as classified and an indictment is all but a forgone conclusion in our estimation. meanwhile, at mar-a-lago... but again, am cautioning people who thinks the case against trump is a slam dunk. the obstruction aspect is looking stronger. however, the espionage act is not how any prosecutor would wanna go after trump, and a jury trial o' an ex-prez who has a cult-like following makes even a solid case a bit o' a gamble, and prosecutors ain't 'posed to gamble with justice. in any event, while have been directing our criticism most to judge cannon's overt buffoonery and her handling o' the pre-indictment civil stoopid she allowed team trump to pursue, am now at a point where we would admit genuine surprise if there were failure to indict. HA! Good Fun!

agreed, but am likely not seeing the same as most. wednesday displayed emotion frequent in the new yorker comic, and am having difficulty recalling her doing anything overt sinister... although pugsley and his sister did prepare one christmas eve by waiting in front o' the fireplace, ready to turn up the heat on santa. truth to tell, pugsley were the addams family spawn pulling pranks with regularity. by contrast, wednesday silent smiled cheerful (frequent) or wept ironic, but she existed to react to situations as 'posed to foment mayhem. you would not recognize the ricci movie character or burton's take based on the one-panel comic. the thing is, am kinda glad burton's most recent waif is no wednesday, 'cause while the original were a sweet little girl with a curious perspective, it is unlikely charles addams' wednesday woulda' worked as the focus o' a 2020s tv show or movie. experienced same problem at the same point, but we had no difficulty exiting the island at the start point and returning to the ship. as such we could, if we wished to, finish act iii. we got multiple saves, jic. got saves pre island 9 and saves after finishing sans the boss. am not certain how the fix will work. edit: depending on how long it takes to correct the problem, we may revisit your toybox solution, but that would involve installing toybox. regardless, is good to know we could possible fix the issue manually. finished gray garrison with our bard and will play up to drezen in hope owlcat address (again) the dlc non-spawning boss problem. the disappointing part for us were how few interesting (not necessarily difficult) encounters we had during the first nine isles... which 'cause o' the failure o' a boss to spawn is as far as we got. yeah, a few o' the undertows made us adjust our playstyle, and those will only be surprising on our first playthrough, but the dlc so far felt like little more than a mechanical and repetitive slog... albeit with a couple noteworthy items o' loot and a whole lotta sellable stuff. got a swell chapeaux and a pair o' gloves which is both improving our dual-wielding and high crit main character. there is also a nice heavy crossbow. haven't tested the longsword to see if the extra damage is added separate or not. all too often the additional damage is calculated in a new category and is frequent resisted by enemies. regardless, we will have a whole lotta extra coin when we finally make it to the abyss, and while xp growth in the isles is not particular quick, we nevertheless might just make level 15 as we enter the midnight fane. am s'posing the dlc serves its purpose if you are using it to test builds, but so far there were few encounters which impressed us insofar as level design. the game is especial buggy at the moment in many small and easily overlooked ways, but am expecting numerous such bugs will be addressed sooner as 'posed to later. the downside is, based on past owlcat experience, a few o' the new bugs will never be fixed. that said, am suspecting our dlc killing bug gets fixed soonish. am genuine impressed by owlcat speed in responding to wotr game stoppage obstacles. complete aside, but now that there is a vendor in act iii where you may buy up to 99 pillar of life scrolls, am suspecting playful darkness becomes a much easier encounter for us. as we noted earlier, we don't like crazycakes and daeran rare fits our party, though is possible to have nenio cast creeping doom via a loremaster secret. regardless, nenio may use scrolls at her caster level, so between sosiel and nenio, and recognizing the spell duration, we should be able to stack +14 pillars at a single point, and such is cast pre combat. given our dlc3 obstacle, am gonna try and advance our bard, though am having second thoughts as the change from sacred to competence for guarded hearth is invalidating the bonuses from bard and skald attack bonus buffing songs. admitted, the manner am which am building the bard song is a nice bonus but hardly a deal breaker as we were attempting to see if a we could make use o' powerful enchantment spells as well as getting use outta the blackwater dc boosting greatsword. even so, kinda feels as if the signature ability o' the bard is wasted during boss battles 'cause am obvious gonna be using a guarded hearth. (edit) as to the difficulty spikes Gromnir and others has mentioned ad nauseum, am s'posing if you played kingmaker and nevertheless purchased wotr, is difficult to pretend to be caught off-guard by inexplicable challenging rando encounters and mobs. nevertheless, the manner in which owlcat balances encounters is almost as strange as the developer's stubborn belief that as more fans complain 'bout their puzzles, owlcat must necessarily increase puzzle frequency and importance. "at some point," is mythic level nine and is an ability and not a spell, so no metamagic feats or rods. furthermore, if you are an endgame blaster, then you are already gonna be able to spam hellfire rays, so am admitted kinda curious what is the point o' this ability. am knowing you were joking, but have seen folks mention devil's hellfire rays at-will as some kinda significant benefit, but am not seeing a major upside. sure, if you are not a caster it may be kinda fun to smash foes with a melee weapon and then finish off an archer or two at range with your hellfire, but from a practical pov, am wondering how we would get use outta the extreme late game devil ability. am thinking the obvious thing the new constantine needs is a unique and defining look. like it or not, the appearance o' a comicbook character is important, and am suspecting one reason why john constantine were popular in comics were his alloy depiction. += jenna coleman as constantine were ok, but were nothing 'bout the character which made us want to see more. on the other hand, a corinthian spinoff would personal be more intriguing than additional jenna coleman constantine material. am suspecting elemental rampager druids got a kick in the cojones from a recent patch. no more elemental barrage for elemental weapon damage. gonna assume this change impacts elemental rampager. nevertheless, particular if you got a skald in a party, we can see an elemental rampager aeon doing exceeding well. a few o' the gazes is exceeding nice, but am gonna admit most is highly situational and is gonna be tough to not use the attack bonus boost for most o' the game. when you get the chance to activate two gazes simultaneous, your choice depends depends on if your party is attack of opportunity focused or a caster party... though as a rampager am guessing combat were in your mind. perhaps have a skald in your party to add additional natural attacks to your impossible to hit high dex leopard wildshape? am thinking most folks who haven't played aeon fail to realize just how effective is the dispel-on-hit powha o' an aeon with a high number o' attacks per round. those boss battles get much easier when in round one you eliminate all enemy buffs. the ever ready mythic feat stacks with the aeon attack of opportunity gaze, resulting in silly kinda party attack bonuses and damage when at least one party member crits. strength ain't bad neither, but am personal thinking high dex for better initiative + aeon dispelling is a major selling point. you serious wanna act first if at all possible. am knowing the neoseeker site is popular for wotr build ideas, but don't take it as gospel. is more to aeons than sooper buffed summons. angel is an obvious choice, 'cause as a full caster, angel spells is all but functional win button. am gonna admit we purposeful didn't do our angel as a full caster precise 'cause it felt kinda exploitive to be having spells which rendered us all but immune to everything while being able to spam screen clearing spells with impunity. nevertheless, at one point am likely to do a shaman or druid angel run, just 'cause is not oracle or cleric. if you go the strength route with your build, then azata ain't a bad choice as you get access to the incredible might sooper power. you got options. +90% done with the ninth island of the act iii accessible portion o' the new dlc. unfortunate, the boss is missing. am s'posed to kill him (gender neutral) and take his treasure according to a message at the exit portal, but while am 100% in favour o' such a straightforward and bloodthirsty resolution, is impossible to accomplish if the boss don't spawn. moderate annoyed, but unsurprised. guess am gonna be advancing the dirge bard for a bit. (edit) according to the description o' the most recent hotfix for wotr, our issue were addressed. 'course we only arrived at isle nine after the hotfix were downloaded, so... (edit 2) figured we would give this another shot after seeing advice about resting on the world map. no luck. in fact, the undead regeneration which happens on the island nine map is now occurring in rt regardless if game is set to tb. is a bit like the rift of ruin bug which were happening at release. am kinda simultaneous doing treasure of the midnight isles in act iii with our aeon as well as a new run with a dirge bard. for the hell o' it, we redid all o' blackwater on hard difficulty with the aeon and am now doing the dlc but have only finished island 1. the dlc vendor sells 99 scrolls o' everything, a large bag of holding, as well as a few endgame belts. is a lockpick iii at the bottom o' the regular item menu, which likely is unnecessary as is only a handful sooper difficult locks/traps in the game, but it were interesting nevertheless. maybe this eve we will go through island seven o' the first group... or maybe we finish off grey garrison with the bard. perhaps we finish off some rl stuff which has bee demanding our attention? unlikely. @Gorth consider the search o' all rooftops accessible with mass dimension door. is not a huge amount o' content on roofs, but there are a couple o' nice bits o' loot. warning: there is a particular challenging rooftop encounter in the same map as the slave markets. you might wanna save that fight until you are all but finished with alushinyrra. HA! Good Fun! -
huh. haven't tried, but this looks kinda brilliant if it works and am having little reason to doubt atk. would love to be able to cook a steak in a non-stick pan. sure, we got the infrared broiler on our viking, but am genuine curious 'bout the cold sear and am especially looking forward to testing with salmon. probable would be applicable to thick burgers. the hand does more than set up a nice camp. he will act as a literal unseen guardian angel if you face near-death, but more important, when he heals you he also restores all per day uses o' spells and abilities. we kinda played with the mechanic and never saw a limit to the number o' times he would free heal/restore you. is potential for exploitation as time does not pass when the hand heals. HA! Good Fun! ps (edit) am mentioning 'cause the result o' the hand's heal is unintuitive. is quite possible you don't realize how the mechanic functions until you spend considerable time in the abyss and then finally ask the hand to heal you instead o' camping. -

pnp hellfire rays is far less op, as long as you got a sane gm who ain't gonna engage in purposeful obtuse and pretend as if hellfire rays do damage other than hellfire. hellfire does 50% o' its damage via mundane fire and 50% by means o' unholy energy. the original description for hellfire in the book of the damned splat book observes a protection from evil spell negates all the unholy damage. furthermore, unholy damage does zippo to evil beings. so, hellfire rays, which curious enough do not have the fire descriptor and thus do not benefit from any fire enhancing spells/powhaz/abilities, only do half damage if you had forethought to cast protection from evil, a level 1 cleric spell... again, assuming hellfire rays use hellfire. please note flame strike, and a few other spells, damage enemies via 1/2 elemental and 1/2 divine. unlike unholy, divine is one o' those rare untyped damages. is no good reason to assume hellfire rays does 1/2 damage via divine. converse, ordinary critical and construction has us reading hellfire and hellfire ray as doing same damages particular in the absence o' clear evidence to the contrary. brief aside, 'cause am not particular interested and am thinking is no need for a right answer, but virtual all pathfinder spells which target souls fail against constructs, undead, elementals and outsiders. however, true resurrection is an exception. is a singular exception and even trap the soul, a level eight spell, fails when targeting outsiders. hellfire rays is a level six spell, so... ... am such a nerd to remember this nonsense; am so embarrassed. nevertheless, while is not how wotr hellfire rays is implemented, according to the diabolist prestige class entry, when a diabloist converts elemental spells to hellfire, the rays gain the evil and lawful descriptor. would at least explain why you may target demons with hellfires and they do not shrug off the unholy portion o' the damage. *groan* can't believe we once again engaged full nerd mode. HA! Good Fun! ps with a level o' sorc, and perhaps one-to-three of loremaster, ember may be useful as something other than a spammer o' hellfire rays. "enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat." that said, ember is extreme useful as a blaster and is not difficult to build her as such. after all, wotr is a game. obviously wotr ain't pro football, but is still a game. -

can't speak for others. the only way am doing the entire shield maze on unfair is at gunpoint. we do boss battles unfair, just to say we did so, but am not seeing the fun in an entire unfair run. make sure you got a leopard companion, 'cause is the only critter capable of tanking the water elemental at that level, even with camellia spamming protective luck. fighting defensive, your leopard may have as high as +30 ac ad you got a blur potion as well. add as many animal companions as possible. you do need to get lucky with attacks, but the chances o' even the unfair elemental hitting a fully buffed leopard is poor and with camellia doing nothing but spamming protective luck chances are you win if you can do enough damage before blur, shield of faith prayer and other buffs wear off. also, do anything possible to boost ab... which is obvious but much more difficult to pull off in practice. charging is good but only characters with reach weapons may charge multiple times 'cause you don't wanna provide the water elemental with attacks of opportunity. and yeah, reloads happen with hosilla and the water elemental. is an unfun way to play the game from our pov, but there is a "cheevo" so some folks will suffer through the slog which is a full unfair run. is likely others ways to take out the unfair water elemental, but for us leopard tanking is key. have also done a very improbable kite thing, but were more luck than anything else which had us survive. at some point am gonna do a lich --> gold dragon for the redemption route, 'cause am uninterested in finishing our previous lich and am curious how the redemption thing works. haven't spoiled self. am not a fan o' trickster. is arguably the most op o' the mythics, though all o' the mythics is potential op with the right build. got far enough into a trickster run to know am unlikely to finish trickster. am considering playing a few o' our past characters from act v... and maybe even act iii. aeon and azata is most likely getting second looks. we did make a new ee dirge bard like we mentioned a few posts earlier. am not a fan o' bards in wotr as am thinking skalds is superior, which ironic is precise why am going with dirge bard. wanna convince self a class we don't ordinarily approve can be fun and capable. no animal companion though. HA! Good Fun! -
if The People, through democratic process, decide in 2022 that lindbergh's support o' fascism and eugenics were a bridge too far, then why shouldn't statues glorifying him be removed? is just freaking statues. we don't have government Holy Symbols in this country which must exist into perpetuity, so if you think democracy is how americans is s'posed to decide issues, then after enlightened debate over lindbergh contributions to stuff such as aviation and biomechanics, if the people decide that statues is inappropriate, then what possible rationale is there for forcing the people to endure the continued public display o' statues erected by folks dead and buried? is no first amendment issue. if bob wants to put a statue o' lindbergh on his property then nobody is gonna stop him from doing so, just so long as it doesn't create some kinda unrelated safety hazard. if bob's statue is 100' tall and is a nuisance not 'cause o' it being a statue o' lindbergh but 'cause it is enormous, then chances are the staue may be removed by the government, but even then the government has a higher burden to overcome 'cause is bob's speech being limited. alternative, force The People to suffer statues they don't want no more is the kinda democracy hating nonsense most americans were in the habit o' objecting to in the recent past. heresy. @Pidesco the onion amicus brief isn't so much a brief as an article, and the audience ain't lawyers but real people as the brief is written in easily understood english as 'posed to formulaic legal jargon. the submission is humorous and insightful. is also clear a competent lawyer crafted the "brief." am not recognizing "STEPHEN J. VAN STEMPVOORT," but am gonna assume he is legit and he knows his craft as well as the subject matter. applause deserved. thanks for sharing. HA! Good Fun!

the thing to recall 'bout finnean is that at your current upgrade stage, he is a +3 brilliant energy, heartseeker weapon, yes? is swell unless you attack an enemy which has no heart. attack incorporeal or golems and get a message that the weapon passes through harmlessly is gonna be disconcerting if you are unaware o' the limited handicap o' brilliant energy. HA! Good Fun! ps brilliant energy is not s'posed to harm any undead but it were at one point. am not sure if has been fixed. am recalling finnean were worthless 'gainst sinful sinew but he could hit a few other undead. playful darkness is a deathsnatcher which is technical a monstrous humanoid, so curiously both pillars of life and finnean is effective 'gainst it. -

keep in mind a major advantage o' pillars is you may cast them outside of combat. keep in mind a major disadvantage o' pillars is if you cast 'em outside o' combat, you need to find a way to make certain your undead and/or sunshine vulnerable foes enter your pillars. can get kinda silly with pillars if you have heightened spell or other metamagic. cast a s-ton previous to combat and then once combat starts sosiel may continue casting via the rod o' devouring lust... 'cause the rod won't work on the pillars cast pre combat. others will observe the safest route to defeating playful is to set up a meat shield o' summons and animal companions and then cast creeping dooms with daeran or camellia (and even nenio if you used loremaster to add creeping doom to her spell list) while making certain you got a mark of justice from seelah on playful. those others who recommend creeping doom is correct. the reason why am personal using fear and pillars is 'cause we loathe camellia and chances are we don't have daeran in a party. sosiel has domains, so daeran don't get much attention in our wotr runs though is plenty o' good reasons to have both daeran and sosiel simultaneous in a party. our refusal to work with camellia is a real shame as she is easily one o' the most useful companions in wotr, particular once you provide her with the metal curse. am suspecting you identified the purpose o' the augmented workers. the natural reaction o' most not psychotic gamers is to live and let live, 'cause you never know when random acts o' murder is gonna mess up a quest. at a basic and fundamental level, games is teaching tools, and crpgs have taught you to attack everything hostile and speak to every named npc, but to avoid wanton mayhem unless you know there is gonna be no negative repercussions. the non aggressive augmented workers will become background npcs you hardly pay any attention to, but then combat with demons and whatnot starts and you reflexive cast prayer, only to discover all those augmented workers at your back has sudden turned hostile and is attacking your casters and archers from the rear. and yeah, an azata with best joke and a decent enchantment dc should go through blackwater with a bit more ease than most builds. we had considered building a kindred half elf dirge bard or court poet to see just how effective a caster bard/skald could be 'cause it looks good on paper. in fact, there is a sword available in blackwater which is kinda integral to our bard or skald enchanter build 'cause much like the quarterstaff of the war mage it applies a +2 to the dc o' all spells cast by the wielder. build an azata bard to take advantage favorable magic and incredible might in addition to the spell buffs azata gets to attributes and mind affecting spells is something we ain't seen, but it looks more than viable if nowhere near best evar. the advantage o' bard is am able to take a couple level dips w/o sacrificing much whereas the skald capstone ability would be a major sacrifice. bard has more skills too. dunno. the skald capstone is really nice, and 'course the partywide intelligence and charisma boosts from a court poet is exceeding impressive if you got a caster party. HA! Good Fun!
