a little swtor in anticipation o' expansion... not much else. busy with work. am holding off on pillars of eternity expansion 'cause we did not wanna be displeased by brevity... we believe that half an expansion would likely disappoint if for no other reason than perceived brevity, so am gonna wait and give full expansion our attention. had considered finally buying da:i, but our initial plan were to wait for end-of-year bundle. why mess with the plan, eh? gonna wait our traditional 6 months for shadowrun as we didn't join kickstarter. wasteland 2 update is coming october? nowadays we spend most o' our gaming in anticipation o' gaming. HA! Good Fun!

we now got 8 60s at harbinger, and it literal took less time to get those 8 to 50 than it did to get 'em from 50 to 60. well, is slight misleading as we started out with 3 characters at 50ish and one in the mid 20s. regardless, we got 8 harbinger 60s, but gearing seems like a pointless endeavour given the upcoming xpac, and new level limit, so we pushed the basic and elite comm caps and am now getting a little grindy generating credits through mindless dailies. when the xpac drops, am not certain if we will focus on harbinger or jc. our jc sniper has an x-52 wraith, which is the tac-hud model rifle without the ugly hud. we keep checking the harbinger gtn for availability o' a wraith, but so far we has been stymied. have considered transferring our sniper to harbinger for no other reason than that we want our favorite sniper weapon available to us. silly? yes. am thinking that at the moment most o' our swtor "gameplay," other than daily runs for comms and coin, is reminiscent o' a hurl post a few pages back: am outfitting characters. is a bit embarrassing, but am spending considerable effort playing with the paper dolls and the outfit designer. gotta look good/unique, yes? *snort* HA! Good Fun! ps we will cut karpshyn a little slack regarding revan and the exile. yeah, what drew did with those characters were ridiculous and disappointing. 'course, the advantage chrisA had were that obsidian never had to do anything with revan beyond kotor2. the mystery is typical better than reality, regardless o' who writes. do like hitchc0ck and leave as mcguffin is likely the best option, 'cause otherwise we get nonsense like Lost tv show or the cylon's "plan" from new battlestar galactica. obsidian games frequent has/had disappointing conclusions, so fact that they didn't need conclude revan/exile mighta' been an advantage. even so, we miss obsidian's revan, exile, and more open-minded pov o' the force.

am not thinking we would like hurl much as a teacher if he sees self and professors as analogous to employers who "care very little about your personal opinions." funny, but in our limited experience teaching, we very much wanted to hear the opinions o' our students and while we did indeed wanna make sure that they learned the material, we were far more interested in what the students could synthesize and create from what they had learned from us as 'posed to students trying to tell us what they thought we wanted to hear. and yeah, the nonsense about academic language is fiction. sure, every discipline has its own vocabulary and students must learn, but you are talking 'bout pruning language that is inappropriate or offensive to an instructor. cal that "academic language"? is another label that has evolved over time to mean something ugly. and what the heck is hurl to do in 20 or 50 years (am assuming good health for hurl) when "colored" becomes the appropriate language for any non-asian? will hurl simply move on and embrace the new language conventions or is he gonna question the validity o' labels and the power we give to them. I'm a big fan of changing language, really, I find etymology fascinating. If you are in an academic setting, I think it is an important skill to master the language of academia, and to also understand that it can change over time, or even from professor to professor. ... ... you create an imaginary thing and ask for mastery that you admit changes with time and twixt academics? okie dokie. oh, and we had more than a few nutter professors at Cal. so what? if is not a required course for ba/bs/bfa, then why should we care? read syllabus and realize that the class is not for Gromnir? well gosh, guess we won't take the freaking course. that being said, at a Public university in the US, a professor is gonna needs be more conscious o' free speech issues than would a prof teaching a similar class at Stanford, Duke or Notre Dame. we got one o' those bmw x5 suv monstrosities and we hate it. the thing is, we got multiple dogs. given enough time and patience, we likely coulda' trained the border collies to use wet-wipes before jumping into the back seat o' a sedan, but the two muts is a bit less clever. we needed a dog friendly vehicle. the suv has enough room for the critters... though is less spacious than one might assume. personally, we miss our old ford ranger pickup. engine were 'bout as easy to work on as an briggs & stratton lawnmower. unfortunately, we kinda caved to social convention and bought transportation more appropriate to our means. sucker. the thread is amusing to us 'cause is as if some men is learning for the first time that women is more subtle 'bout their communication and that they, in general, is far more likely to read stuff into the things men says than the other way around. HA! Good Fun!

Yes just to add something, she wasn't a stripper. And you right ...what she did say about her weight was basically how she use to be overweight and clearly this was something she had struggled with Of course she only mentioned that after I said what I said so I had no idea In the long run, its probably better to get it out now than to have you two fall in love and then out of love later on. Or whatever. am not gonna give relationship advice, but we will observe that Most women have body image issues to one degree or another. not Gromnir 'course, but there is some men who take advantage o' this fact. again, not Gromnir, but we has heard from more callous and predatory men that no matter how beautiful the woman, chances are there is some aspect o' her appearance that she obsesses over. careful observation o' body language and verbal cues gives away the weakness. once you know what is the particular body image issue a woman has, you can manipulate so that even the most confident woman feels insecure and vulnerable... which a man with questionable integrity would see as advantageous. or at least that is what we has heard. is not that bruce ran into a loopy woman with extreme body issues. sounds like he ran into the ordinary and average woman. he took the sensitive guy approach from the start, but he didn't follow through. this may ruin the episode for you, but we highly recommend closet land, starring alan rickman and madeleine stowe. btw, that were the entire cast for the movie. is not something you will want to see more than once, but is excellent. am gonna wait a couple months to play the new shadowrun. we had a few tech issues with the earlier releases and waiting a bit don't hurt us none. we had considered starting da:i, but we abstained this long already, so am likely gonna hold off until end-of-year cheapened bundles become available. pillars of eternity is on hold for us. we got more than our fair share o' hours invested in the title already, but am gonna wait for both parts o' the expansion to be released before we play again, so am kinda avoiding all things poe for a few months. in a little over a month we managed to level 5 characters from 1-60 on the harbinger server for swtor. am now having 8 60s on harbinger. doesn't make much sense to gear those characters as once the expansion arrives, new gear will be available along with the additional 5 levels. maybe we play a bit more so we got a nice reserve o' comms? perhaps we contact WOPR and play some chess? HA! Good Fun!

we got a friend, an older gentleman, who were an airman during the early 60s. was stationed at nouasseur air base and was a radio operator. the thing is, he never actual did anything with radios. nope, he was part o' the camp's football team and he were a lifeguard. our friend's military service were spent in casablanca, playing ball and swimming. am not sure why, but we never had considered that the military needs lifeguards. go figure. cnn tells us that a thousand people die in floods in bangladesh and we hardly pause as we switch channel to espn to check scores o' football games. gotta have a pet with cancer euthanized and we weep more than a few tears o' sadness and loss. *shrug* oddly enough, in spite o' the fact that we got multiple dogs and cats, we ain't never purchased a pet. our deceased sister bought us a cat... she bought us the cat before she died. we ain't that crazy. when she passed away, we adopted her multiple pets. a friend of ours, a veterinarian as it just so happens, had a stroke and were no longer able to take care of her border collie. so, we added a border collie to our household. our cc&rs says that we can own two pets. we wish we only had two pets. hell, for reason amentep mentions, we would personal choose to have no pets at all. nevertheless, we somehow goes from a guy who had a cat forced on him by a well-intentioned sibling, to being the kook on the street with a small zoo. is embarrassing. am s'posing the neighbors would complain, but they all seem to know how we acquired our menagerie and so we get a kinda functional exemption from rules. were never our intention to have pets. when each one o' them dies, am gonna weep. lotta weeping. the most annoying aspect o' the new togruta is that there is 'bout 1000 ahsoka variations running 'round. a'hsoka. ahsóka. ashooka. how many ways can you spell ahsoka? we will concede that one o' our harbinger characters did require an alt code for the name spelling, but that ain't 'cause we took a name that were unavailable 'cause o' usage. oddly enough, many product names appear to be verboten. our bright yellow trooper's nom de guerre was intended to be Tonka, but that were deemed inappropriate by ea. go figure. you mean other than neutral? dunno. neutral "freaked out" 'cause indie game coverage were the "one thing" he did trust from game journalists. *shrug* am always reminded o' the movie quiz show. the movie, which were well directed and exceptional acted, attempts to tell us that our innocence, America's innocence, were lost when we, as a nation, discovered that a popular tv game show were rigged to achieve better ratings. ... a number o' the swtor storylines have a similar flaw: they collapse after the chapter 1 conclusions. for the better part o' the game, you are chasing down X or puzzling through Y... and then chapter 1 concludes. now there is a new threat and we are informed that we must deal with a new problem that threatens the galaxy and us personal? quote self is gauche, but... in any event. we also liked forex, or however it were spelled. am thinking the writers overdid the imp lady medic's by-the-book schtick-- her bun were wound too tight. Heh, SCORPIO is probably one of my favourite companions of the entire bunch in the game. What's not to like about a psychotic killer robot dedicating her existence to breaking her controlling software and kill you??? So over the top its hard not to smile. It's like a mechanical Thana Vesh Problem with companions in general is the limited number of "barks" they have when summoned. engaging enemies etc. Eventually even your favourites becomes a bit tiresome to listen to when the class story is over. Apart from the never ending hassle with timezones, I should now have well geared level 60 healers and tanks on both Harbinger and Shadowlands and working on getting the few remamining ones moved from Begeren to Jedi Covenement. So if anyone is interested in running a few group activities, just give me a shout. Would probably only work weekends though. Also got two handfuls of leveling toons on all 3 servers as I don't expect the 12x xp to last forever, so they get a bit of priority at the moment. All of the IA's companions are bat**** insane. Even the most normal of the bunch casually kills her father because he saved her life (and broke Imperial law in the process of doing so). The rest... uh, a psychotic terrorist, a rakghoul, a killer robot and a Killik joiner, riiiiiiigh guys, I'm totally trusting any of you with my life. you hit on the root o' the problem. kaliyo is a rabid dog who makes very clear that she has betrayed just about everybody she has ever worked with in the past. old yeller had to be put down 'cause he were diseased and dangerous. kaliyo don't have old yeller's redeeming qualities. shodan were a fun antagonist in system shock, but we sure don't want here in our party, and we sure as well wouldn't give her access to any kinda imperial-wide computer network. am having fewer trust issues with vector, but the joiner as a more friendly borg don't work for us. also, as we noted already, raina is broken. is likely that raina were our least favorite ia companion, which is saying something. raina is a zealot. the fact that she is a zealous believer in the organization that has been victimizing her makes matters worse. our willingness to play fast and loose with imperial orders made raina a liability in addition to being a horrible character with zero growth. trade her for cipher agent 3? didn't like the ia companions... and other than the minister of intelligence, we weren't a particular great fan o' ia story. even so, ia were better than trooper. HA! Good Fun!

We all have to start somewhere. agreed. even so, is difficult for us to take this all serious. we got a where-have-you-been-for-the-past-three-decades pov that makes us see the present fury and angst as comical, but we do recognize that there isn't a good excuse for the sorry state o' game journalism. if gamersgate fixes game journalism, then it ain't all bad. even so, the feigned and genuine surprise at realization that game journalists ain't real journalists is... funny. gaming journalism is an oxymoron... and we ain't lost a moment o' sleep over that fact. we mention this once every six months or so, just for the hell of it. find out that game journalists, glorified bloggers, is lacking professional ethics should surprise and offend anybody? am suspecting that the gamersgate folks is also the same people who don't yet realize that pro wrestling is scripted. oh, we did think it were amusing that mr. blonde were surprised by the excess venom o' folks who would send dead animals and syringes to a journalist covering games. am guessing he has never actual spoken with a big-time sports reporter, or national movie critic. however, we thinks billy idol's love child were correct that games is indeed less serious than other categories o' journalistic coverage. we wouldn't mind if gaming journalism grew up and became legit, but it is games we are talking 'bout and not war coverage or Presidential election coverage. is games for chrissake. while mr. blonde were clear missing the point, he actual made a valid one.... by accident.
