But didn't Kreia foretell that both Revan and the Exile had to go to some place where they cannot take their beloved ones with them? :'( Not a good sign for any of the KotOR II romances to be continued ...
-
Yes ... Carth's humour ... The good thing with Carth is that he never was a faithful puppy. He had some will of his own, and would even run away if his love turned darkside ... Heh! No influence to be gained over him when behaving like a Sith brat!

It's called 'bronze' in the description set, but it looks just like orange.

*spoiler* mystery person
GreenKnight replied to jdei master casya mardu's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
In my game, the fading person was a Darkside version of myself ... and I suppose Revan was speaking to him because he used to be a general in Revan's army. I'm not sure why Revan attacked me immediately; it's probably that I had (as a Lightsider) to prove in this tomb that I could somehow overcome my own Dark past incarnate by defeating DS Revan. -
... and I wonder how I will get on with Disciple. No idea how he's going to turn out. But that's for later.

The best advice I can give you is not to come to the spoiler's forum until you've finished your first play through. Believe me, it will go fast enough as it is... Unless you get stuck, of course, in which case, very happy to help! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank you, you are kind. But it's not my first playthrough ... I think I've already beaten the game half a dozen times with a male character. But it's my first female playthrough, and I'm curious to see what's different. Heh heh.
-
Okay ... today, I started my first KotOR II: TSL game with a female character. I'm standing in front of Atton's cell ... I have not yet opened it ... and I'm really really nervous. :">
-
Tease him! Poke fun at him! Try to ridiculize him - and he will retaliate. What a wonderful man ...
-
Now that you mention it ... he does. If it weren't for the teeth. :D
-
His hair is not so bad if he stays LS ... ten years ago, everybody had his hair cut like that. What?
-
Yes, of course: Female players get different "romance" options, and the Disciple joins your party (whereas the Handmaiden will not). Also, you can dance for Vogga yourself ... great, isn't it?
-
The power that allows you to absorb blaster bolts without a lightsabre ... that's probably meant as a reference to Darth Vader in Empire Strikes Back, but in KotOR II, it's just useless.

Master Kavar said to contact me later, when?
GreenKnight replied to sithru's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Ah no, no, no ... the message you are talking of shows a character from the original KotOR game, and is not too much related to KotOR II: TSL. No, what I was trying to say was: After leaving Iziz for the first time, just continue with your main quest on other planets. Sooner or later, T3 will come up to you when you enter the Ebon Hawk again, and he will tell you that Master Kavar expects to see you immediately. - This wil probably happen on your second planet after you left Iziz. And then, you still can't go to Onderon straight; you'll have to go to Dxun instead. -
Spirited Away's No-Face = Darth Nihilus?
GreenKnight replied to Rambutaan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I didn't even notice that Darth Nihilus had a "secret identity". What does he conceal? What does he have that he could conceal? I thought he was wearing his clown mask just for fun ... Does anyone remember the teenager slasher in Wes Craven's "Scream" series? -
Master Kavar said to contact me later, when?
GreenKnight replied to sithru's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You mean Master Kavar? Well, T3-M4 should present you with a message from him if as soon as you enter the Ebon Hawk on the planet you went to right after your first stay on Iziz ... and even then, you can't go to Iziz directly. Choose Dxun on your galaxy map instead. -
I disagree here: I think the lines are unusually rich for a CRPG, like Visas' final passionate confession of love, or when the Handmaiden challenges Atris in all her fear and frustration after learning (erroneously) that her lover was killed ... ... but unfortunately, there was not enough of those lines, meaning that all these emotional outbursts were not too well prepared during previous dialogues. See, in Planescape: Torment, you got so many small clues and hints from Annah, and Annah herself only slowly came to admit to herself that she loved your PC, and you watched this romance unfold and develop in so epical a way ... but not so in TSL where everything rushed on too quickly towards a very emotional ending.

Well, Dranoel: No, it's impossible to "improve" the graphics of PS: T. I don't mind that, though ... ... and yes, The Nameless One seems to have fought in the Blood War before ... many times, in many lives, perhaps ... and his companions, maybe, too: we never get to know exactly ... ... with PS: T everything is just impression, dream, and a vague idea of what past may have been, and what the Planes' present is. Who needs fancy graphics in that?

Not quite ... the regime chased the more intelligent film directors away, and leaned heavily on the scriptwriters: They would only let propaganda films and very shallow love stories pass their censure ... and the German public really loved those shallow love stories ... so we only got that ... escapism, you know ... all I try to say is that German film production has no tradition of making intelligent indie films ... that's all ... In the 1970s, some directors like Wenders and Fassbinder tried to make art-house films ... these were very good films, but no box office successes ... Indeed. And now we're back on topic: Uwe Boll. Duh. Horrible guy, it seems. But as I haven't ever seen any of his works, I shall not comment on him further. Go on everybody.

Yeah, because F.W. Murnau wasn't a cornerstone of the film-making industry or anything. And Lola Rennt must have been one of the worst movies of the last decade instead of the best ... you, sir, are an ignorant, generalizing bastard. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmmm ... yes, I am a generalizing bastard, I admit that ... although I said most Grmans, not all of them, made bad films ... anyways, I am happy to have been told off by someone who appreciates Murnau's films. Ah! Murnau! Lang! Paul Wegner! And that great Austrian, Erich von Stroheim: I have seen most of their films, and I have loved them. Really. But ... have you noticed that Murnau and Stroheim came to the US out of their free will, and that Lang, Sternberg, and the other great Austrian, Billy Wilder, followed them because the German government had vowed to kill them if they stayed in Europe? Alas! The wonderful world of German silent movies ... completely shattered by the Nazi party's dislike to intelligent films ... ah, and by the way: ... as the beginnings of the rule of the Nazi party somewhat coincided with the invention of the soundtrack, they insisted on having every film dubbed. They didn't like the idea their subjects could ever understand anything else than German. So, roughly, my idea: No good German films from Lang's M till ... let's say ... Fassbinder's Katzlmacher. Do you agree on that? Good point. However, most German art-house movies are either silent movies, or M, or Fassbinder movies. And Lola rennt was just a cheap rip-off of so many French films by directors like Alain Resnais or Chris Marker. No points awarded to Lola rennt from me. So here's my revised list: German films after Fritz Lang's M suck, with the notable exception of Fassbinder films. Films by Roland Emmerich, Wolfgang Petersen, Uwe Edel, and Uwe Boll, are just ... well, I leave that to you.
-
Please enlighten me someone. Who is Uwe Boll, and what terrible films has he ... committed so far? I cannot remember having ever heard his name ... It sounds German ... that's a bad sign. Most Germans make very bad films ... that's a general rule ... So who is Uwe Boll? I'd like to know this before I sign anything.

Do not worry: I'm against censorship and interdiction of FPSs and so on ... I'm just ... slightly worried when thinking of the fact that even the ... demented, as you put it, have access to ... things ... like Counterstrike. But go on, just ignore me. Where were we before Mr Barlast mentioned that he ... fell for first-person shooting?
-
Ah! Gothic ... yes, I have never tried it. But it sounds like playing Gothic was a good idea ... thank you for the tip. ... and although I don't like to play the "Evil Way" in PS: T, I have to admit that sending a certain spark back to the Plane of Fire (instead of killing him) is a great moment.
-
Oh, I would not want this ... but ... now that you mention it: most CRPGs have you starting as an amnesiac. That, or you start as the village farmboy who's sister gets abducted by the same sinister orcs that have just burnt down your village while you were out in the fields. But then, you will also discover that you are not a farmboy, but, in reality, the son of the gods ... Okay. Roleplaying as such is a bit stupid. Shortcuts? What shortcuts?
-
I admit that's true ... we're very sentimental with PS: T here. Although I'd be curious to learn which other (maybe newer) games others would prefer over PS: T. I mean ... I've been playing PS: T for years and years now ... what else could I play? Any suggestions?
