Extreme Drop In Performance (Out of Ideas)
rockfish42 replied to Mahoner's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Found on reddit as a possible issue: "Check your Nvidia control panel and see if your Physx configuration is set to the graphics card, CPU, or Auto. Set it to the GPU if it's anything other than that and see if you notice a difference."

One year on, still issues with Nvidia 1080 Ti
rockfish42 replied to ldemon's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)There was a potential fix in this thread https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/108962-potential-fix-for-fps-dropsstuttering-on-high-end-pc/ the tl:dr is that there's something wrong in the saves folder that isn't wiped because of steam cloud saves.

Potential fix for FPS Drops/Stuttering on High End PC
rockfish42 replied to Hymeir's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)If you delete the save game folder with the game running and then quit it should delete the cloud files, or at least that's the way it worked with POE1.

[4.1.2] Clearing Out Crookspur / Cruel Cargo / Fruitful Alliance problems
rockfish42 replied to jepsus's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Crookspur has a bunch of quests that are all simultaneous. The wiki has a chart near the end that explains the interactions, it seems like they expected you to only be doing one faction at a time. It should let you autocomplete quests that have the same outcome without failing, but they probably didn't test each possible combination, or there was a regression. https://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/A_Shrewd_Proposition

"Issues with Nvidia Graphics Cards" - Fixed?
rockfish42 replied to ahmbor's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Some people have tried using the save folder contents from another computer and it apparently fixed the problem. My layman's guess is there is some issue with the achievements file that swapping fixes? https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/108962-potential-fix-for-fps-dropsstuttering-on-high-end-pc/

Potential fix for FPS Drops/Stuttering on High End PC
rockfish42 replied to Hymeir's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Supposedly they already turned telemetry off, subsequent saves with the alternate files didn't have a performance issue either.

Potential fix for FPS Drops/Stuttering on High End PC
rockfish42 replied to Hymeir's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)It's the save folder from another computer. The contents are saves, global achievements and the AI behavior folder. There might be some sort of bug involving the the global achievements file. As per another discussion, Steam cloud was saving all of these files, so attempts at wiping/reinstalling etc. weren't effective at remedying the stutter until steam cloud was wiped with a known working set of files. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/108687-game-running-choppy-suddenly/

Devil of Caroc Breastplate - Not available / any way to add it?
rockfish42 replied to Oter2k's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Just make sure to uninstall the console afterwards, on a lot of setups it messes up performance quite a bit.

[4.1.2 MAJOR BUG] Broken core mechanic: Afflictions not supressable/not removable by inspirations
rockfish42 replied to thelee's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)I'm waiting until the next patch to complete my playthrough because of this. I have about a 50% chance that Eder will murder everyone in the party in tough fights with dominate/charm enemies.

Game running choppy suddenly?
rockfish42 replied to tedmann12's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)My stutter was about every 30 seconds or so, it's at least playable if annoying. I have an AMD card, I think it's just exacerbated by the NVIDIA issue. Another random suggestion, do you have Window's Night Light enabled? My problem was worse with F.lux and they do similar things.

Game running choppy suddenly?
rockfish42 replied to tedmann12's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Try running it as administrator? Or in an earlier windows compatibility mode? Alt-tab back and forth?

Game running choppy suddenly?
rockfish42 replied to tedmann12's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Yes, it runs worse with the console installed.

Game running choppy suddenly?
rockfish42 replied to tedmann12's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)I'm having a similar issue, forcing a higher virtual resolution seemed to have a somewhat positive effect on the stutter. This made it more playable for me, now I'm just waiting on the suppress affliction bug to get fixed. Another thing to try is forcing exclusive fullscreen, and d3d11 as launch options. -force-d3d11 -window-mode exclusive

Random events triggering during God scenes
rockfish42 replied to PX1player's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)I just had the same thing happen coming back from Hasongo, I received a parrot missive from the Queen during the cutscene and then a random crew event created a black screen as well.

3 expansions ......really?
rockfish42 replied to master guardian's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)They offered the base game and the season pass for about the price of the game itself during the Fig campaign. If you had previously backed POE 1 they even gave a discount.
