I don't think any music video shows "love" better than this. I admit it is a really narrow category but still....

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VIII (May RNG Be With You)
kirottu replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Did you actually find players to complete the group missions with or are they soloable by now? I finished them when they launched and everyone was doing them, but getting a group together must be hell these days. When I was leveling, the heroic missions were soloable, but I stopped doing them after awhile since I was constantly over leveled for the content. I don't know if they are soloable when their level cap is close to your characters level cap. -

It took me two days to finally settle with these characters. I'd like to thank ShadySands for giving me Wasteland 2 and putting me through this hell. -

I gave thumbs up, because the baby gave thumbs up. -
My take on the two has always been that KOTOR felt like a more Star Wars-y game, while KOTOR II felt like a more interesting RPG in general. I agree. For me what made Kotor 2 more interesting is that it took pretty much every element from Kotor(story or otherwise) and gave them more depth. I was thinking about pacing and Kotor 2 some more and I think I might have gotten it wrong. I think it's more about the fact the Jedi Masters don't know anything new about the Sith threat. So when I find another Jedi Master it doesn't feel like story progresses in any way. In first Kotor every time I found a Star Map, I'm told I got bit closer to Star Forge, and I felt like the story progressed. In Kotor 2 I'm told they don't know ****. So no progress.

I finished Kotor 2 with restored content(without droid planet) yesterday. First thing that came to my mind while going through Peragus was "this is like New Vegas". More skill checks, more stat checks, more choices, it's like they took Kotor and injected it with more roleplaying. Major difference being Bioware were actually competent in making RPGs so the differences between Kotor and Kotor 2 aren't as big as was with Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. While I do prefer Kotor 2 over Kotor, I do think Kotor is better paced game. Kotor 2 just drags on too long in some places.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - 'NON-FAKE-NEWS EDITION'

I followed instructions on a GOG thread for Flawless Widescreen mod. It worked about 20% of the time. Meaning I had to restart FW and Kotor multiple times every time I wanted to play, which I found to be too annoying to keep doing. E X T R A T H I C C it is. Try this one http://www.wsgf.org/article/star-wars-knights-old-republic That did work better, but the UI was bit off since they don't support any normal resolutions that are below 1080. I finished Kotor yesterday and it's kinda amazing how much I had forgotten about it. Only things I remembered were how annoying Carth was: "I want to talk to you about how much I don't trust you again", how Bastila was turned to dark side by only shooting force lightning at her, Malak's comic book evil laughter, Teh Twist, and everyone clapping at the end. Everything I didn't remember was solid, well, except the first fight against Malak. It's a good game. I do wonder why I remembered only negative things about it. Next: Kotor 2 with restoration mods.

EA disabled RMTs for all regions. The premium currency, crystals, were pulled from all stores last night. But not permanently. They will most likely come back after Christmas sales. -

There's also a three hour "cooldown" earning credits in arcade mode if you make too many credits playing it. Is EA actually trying to win the next worst company award? 51s Twitch clip. -
Yeah, only way Avellone's tweets make any kind of sense if he was owner with least amount of shares or something. But still... he's essentially RPG developer royalty. Everybody here knows his face and what he has done. Can you say the same thing about the other owners besides Urquhart? It's just really hard for me to see him as underdog.
-
I wish Avellone would just tell the whole story. He complains about the owners and management, but at the same time he was both. I feel like I'm missing a crucial point and so I don't know if I believe him or not.

Obsidian teasing about a new project on Twitter
kirottu replied to Flouride's topic in Obsidian General
I hope it's going to have loot boxes you can buy with real money. The sheer amount of drama we would have would be epic. I mean, I feel betrayed just thinking about it. -

Technically you can't buy Darth Vader. You can buy loot boxes, which have a chance of containing Darth Vader. I do think 40 hours isn't to make it "rewarding". 40 hours is a small eternity in modern gaming time. They made it so long to sell more loot boxes. -
