  1. Looks like an electrofied cross between a wombat and a rabbit ...
  2. ... served with fava beans and cianti?
  3. Indeedy. What is your avatar? Or, more precisely, what is your avatar's final form?
  4. I wish all these voices in the simulation that is my head would STOP SHOUTING AT ME.
  5. Like an Optimus Prime with flashing bejeweled eyes (made from someone) ...
  6. I want plots that cannot be summed up easily, so that those who need a "canon" dogmatic interpretation must lose out.
  7. Espeon hasn't done much. Must be the reason for the feline likeness ...
  8. Um, if that was directed at me, I would say in my defence that wasn't trying to, or labouring under the misaprehension that I might, hurt M$ or Mr Gates. I was endeavouring to convey contextual phenomenology in a convenient shorthand. (As an aside, I've been using it as shorthand for about twenty years now.) So it may coincidentally be used as a sign by the young and angry, and these self same juveniles may indeed be fans of Star Trek, but even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
  9. You go all the way to Nevada? WHAT'S WRONG WITH EUROPEAN YOUNG FEMALE CHRISTIAN ORGANISATIONS!!!111!eleven!1onetwo!1
  10. Get a room you two.
  11. In the best possible taste, of course ... :D
  12. Or the anonymity of the internets allows one to express those parts of their personalities that mayhaps be de-emphasised in the quotidian interactions both forced onto citizens and elected by individuals.
  13. If we, for a moment, take the stated interrogative statement, below, as if it were not, in fact, rhetorical then I might be drawn to reply as follows. Once again (and again and again, methinks) I settle comfortably in complete agreement with you; try as I might to find even the smallest fault and critique to upbraid or discuss (as one might any quodlibet), I am devoid of opportunity. OR Once again (not for the first or last time) I am in complete harmony with your sentiments. OR Ditto.
  14. I don't think it'll show up on anyone's radar or end-of-session report. The only ones who witness these late-night/early-morning stream-of-consciousness extemporariousnesses are those participating, the rest are safely tucked up in bed or constructively deploying their time. Or not.
  15. Ah. I am that most difficult to discern, the introvert who masquerades as an extrovert. As far as all but those closest to me are concerned, I am an extrovert. In reality I must leave the madding crowd to recharge my batteries on a regular basis, otherwise I can no longer function.
  16. I'm collecting incidental stuff for my book ... "
  17. Sounds like you are an extrovert. I am not. I do not wish to talk to someone who will have (odds-on) less knowledge about games, systems and life in general than me. Waste of time. Just like the stupid assistant who asks me (rote) every time I purchase a game "Have you checked that your computer can play this game?": completely useless. She obviously has no idea what the critical requirements are for ANY game, let alone the ones that people bring to the counter (she asked me when I bought a bargain
  18. ... Bogus or not bogus?: Have there been some defective units? Not bogus. Are defective consoles prevalent? Bogus...according to Microsoft, anyway. ... AND ... ... Where's the inciteful editorial summation? The journalistic commentary that gives the readers an idea as to what the exact nature and scale of the issues? This is crap. All they have done is googled a couple of press releases and copy and pasted them in their own rumour. Not part of the solution, part of the problem. Stupid site.
  19. I agree with Hades, but that is not mutually exclusive of the point I made. If I buy as spanking new PC and it doesn't work, you can bet the retailer / brand owner / lots of senior marketing people who pay the salaries of the people who make the PC that I bought / popular press / etc will all know exactly how peed off I am and to what decimal degree, within very short order, AND what I expect the recompense should be. This "send 'em out and we'll see what's wrong with them when the returns come back" QA attitude of M$, first seen in their marketspeak sofware and now crossing over into their hardware (never had these problems with a M$ keyboard or mouse) should not be tolerated in any way shape or form. It's either negligence or false advertising and consequential larceny, on a scale unheard of previously. What's next, the M$ keyboards will start to assign random keycodes to the buttons as someone types? Exactly. If the production of the product is too much for them, they shouldn't be allowed to make them, let alone advertise them. Kitchens and heat, dontchaknow?
  20. They tend to be crammed with crap I have never heard of, Game especially annoys me, because it doesn't have a large back catalogue at all. (I can understand a part-time games retailer that is a full-time stationer, for example, not having capacious racks of games from the last five years, but a game store? Meh.) That's how I (accidentally) bought Everquest ... I was looking for Dungeon Siege ! (Never do that again.)
  21. Wow. But where are the ninjas? :'(
  22. Cheers, sense 3.a. Basically the connotation is "goodwill to you".
  23. It's full of lists with things to do. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You fail at OCD. Go to jail, go directly to jail, and do not wash your hands. Anything that is limited can be managed better, and thus more usefully / beter value for money by organising it. I take it you don't buy games for the Mac, so you are already "working" (sic, q.v. ut supra) by laboriously choosing only PC games. For example, I have spent the last year or so auditing the three main (PC-only) games magazines to ascertain which is the best (for me); now I have settled on one, and I have calibrated my likes and dislikes with the scores granted by this magazine, I can plan my games purchases. Some might call this work, but I found it very enjoyable reading different magazine's reviews and comparing them (ultimately with my own playing experience). Secondly, I HATE going into a retail store, because all the old games that are (apparently) very good are never in the store, and I end up having to choose between several I have never heard of, if I wish to buy a game. I normally walk off empty handed, as my leisure time is limited and I do not wish to waste time, money and effort to purchase, install and play garbage. Especially when I could be playing something else. So online is grand. :D
  24. Exactly, so he's gunna use heathen or (even better) the blood of one anathema sit ...
