  1. That has to be the worlds most heavily subsidized license plates.
  2. Somebody reactivated Funcroc and beat you by a day Still, nice to see second part has come up. Fun, infomative and interesting in one nice package.
  3. Coincidence? whoah... this is real? toooooo bad i don't know squat about making video games! cause i'd totally want to make an infinity engine game! Pick up some documentation try and start! The sky is the limit! (Though I've heard that GemRB may not be in the best shape yet.)
  4. You mean like this? Yes
  5. That reminds me, that I still have Mysteries of Westgate floating around somewhere on my games partition, waiting for me to have a serious go at it.
  6. I'm not sure there is any. Unless they are very careful with what screenshots are released it's something that people will easily be able to see prior to release and judge themselves. Came across the orginal post make of it what you will. "It's a runtime memory cost, not a disk space issue. You need those anims for the non-combat areas... so they're going to be on disk regardless. In order to support exploration in the combat areas, you'd need to have all the anims loaded in memory... so that would be things like the 8-way walks, runs, incline anims, idles, idle twitches, male/female variant overrides, eye noise... etc. All in all (iirc) it came out to around 2-4MB, which is relatively significant. Also, as you've guessed, yes - I'm referring to the main game (as well as the demo" A shame there is no source for the above. Otherwise I would point at that next time somebody claims the game isn't aiming for lowest common denominator when developing for multiple platforms
  7. Nice try at advertising, but I think it said Indie developer, not Indian developers
  8. trust me... by today's standards it's nothing special, unless you're a film school student or a critic. Citizen Cane was the most boring movie I'd seen in a long time, I never watched it all the way to the end, couldn't bring myself to Ok, maybe I should give it a pass...
  9. After all I've heard about it, I really should watch that movie some day.
  10. That was a fun read. Informative too Does it make me look old when I think of the original Bards Tale as a modern game?
  11. Turns out I had it's "predecessor" (current version) the Sony HDR-CX700V on my shortlist together with the Panasonic HDC-TM900K. Trying to catch up on reviews for those, plus a few more.
  12. Maybe GuardDog has a spare coyote he could lend you? Read somewhere the best way is to bait a trap with cat food from tin and then deport it to somewhere away from your place.
  13. Mostly outdoors landscapes, cities, vistas, wildlife etc. No macro insect shots or weird stuff. Just a way to share experiences with those who weren't there on my travels. That's why I need something with anti-shake and decent low light performance, as it's for all times of day and night.
  14. In the case of Samara, it's not for lack of trying
  15. Are humans really that different? Eat and breed and compete. The meaning of life (abridged Gorth version). There's a webcomic that ties arrival and me3 together, basically Shepard goes into the brig after nuking the batarian system (with Vega tasked to watch over him), while the Alliance grabs Cerberus's super frigate to experiment with. I'm pretty sure that there's another Normandy class scout frigate (or several) mentioned in ME2, but I can't find a reference for it. Arrival? I was probably hoping there would be an in-game explanation Wasn't the original Normandy an experimental prototype? Thats where I got the idea that they would be quite rare. I liked having Mordin and Zaeed along Didn't care much for Garrus, the disillusioned cop gone vigilante schtick wasn't convincing. He and Jack spent all their time apart from their loyalty mission on the Normandy while the rest took turns joining Gorth Shepard in saving the galaxy from its own ineptitude. Edit: I would like to say that I ignored the lizard man too, but I can't remember his name >_
  16. Thanks mkreku. I've been considering getting a separate video and "still" camera, it just seems like a lot of bagage carrying around. Few things looks more silly than tourists spending more time trying to sort out there equipment than just enjoying their holidays I don't need it for a few months yet, so I'll keep an eye on the Sony HDR-CX740VE too. As for zoom qualities, it looks like most HD Camcorders comes with 10x optical zoom. Found one that did 12x, but otherwise you'll need attachments or professional grade equipment indeed.
  17. Would go nicely to AC/DC's "Who made Who" (Maximum Overdrive soundtrack)
  18. A few "footnotes" regarding the demo. Why does deep space vehicles have blaring horns? Seem to remember it from War of the Worlds (the bad version). Where did they hide the spare Normandy? A copy of the first one or did Shepard get Normandy II as a severance package from Cerberus? I noticed that health doesn't seem to regenerate magically anymore. A small blessing, but welcome none the less. The female Krogan made me smile. Poor Wrex None of my favourite ME2 companions looked to be available as team members. Ah well, maybe in the full game. Edit to add: Oh, and who got the clever idea of hiding screen resolutions under "Extras"?!?
  19. It's effectively a copy cat of Steam and the Steam client. Not quite matured as a product yet, still it looks like they are trying very hard to emulate it. Amusing anecdote, the name and logo looks confusingly similar to the local energy company here.
  20. It's true, for all our patriotism, the USA tends to treat soldiers as a disposable resource. We have a large enough underclass that we
  21. Not that I know of. I managed to remember one of my EA logins though and could use that one as my Origin login. Tried out the demo. Not sure what to think yet, as apart from the humongous cutscene at the beginning, it was mostly showing off the "combat". Unfortunately that reminded me how much I hated corridor shooters. Positive was the lack of some horrible "bypass" minigame for locked doors. I'll probably give it a second chance once it has been out for a while and becomes available as a bundle with all DLC's (something I wish I had done with DA:O and ME2).
  22. You might like this one...
  23. Been playing through a few more battles in Gratuitous Space Battles. Bought one of the expansions too (Galactic Conquest) but haven't had time to try it out yet. Fighters seems obscenely overpowered.
  24. Just thought I would emphasize this point...
  25. I remember playing that one, the guys in our company would put up a beefed up server for the night and then we would slug it out against the guys at the city council. Good times.
