Halfway through my second week as homeless.... literally homeless My Quality of Life is considerably better than people living on the streets though. Courtesy of Covid-19, hotel prices are rock bottom at the moment. Good thing too when looking for a new place to rent and live permanently. Allows me to be a bit "pickier" and not sign up for the first thing I can get. Moving interstate is always such a hassle. Not as much as moving internationally mind you, but still. I'm getting too old for this **** (waves walking stick threateningly at kids on his non-existing lawn)

I don't think the Scott Morrison government will handle the virus crisis as well as they handled the bush fire crisis. He'll most likely be turned away by US immigration when he turns tail and runs off, trying to hide on Hawaii again. The little piss ant could use some of the stuff he doesn't mind the rest of Australia getting exposed to. The opposition might not be able to pull his sorry ass out of the fire again this time, offering some much needed leadership for the services involved. Edit: short version, the current liberal government completely hopeless in dealing with any kind of situation and has no tolerance for criticism. I'm sure Gromnir could express it better when press offices being raided by police because they published news about the war crimes that the government tried to sweep under the carpet. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. Corona virus is a personal matter between you and your God, so better start praying.

Imho Biden would make a just as bad a president as Trump. Same level of incompetency. Trump hides his behind bravado and threats, Biden simply can't remember how things works. Edit: In hindsight, maybe Biden would at least let competent people run the government and not sack them every time a subordinate shows glimmers of intelligence.

For all the "Frozen" fans out there.... 'Enter Snowman' Not because it's particularly good, but good enough for a chuckle

Feral bananas or EU standard bananas? Maybe the EU commission is in the market for an AI system that will check produce for rules conformity. AI talking to a banana with model like measures... "resistance if futile, you will be assimilated"

If it's too big, it just needs to split up... oh wait, they already tried that. Watch this space for the announcement of the New California Republic!

Not sure what "Trumpism" is... seen from this place, he's nothing but your typical 2 bit demagogue thriving on chaos and sabre rattling. No different from any other demagogue/warmonger. No different from Berlusconi, Modi, Netanyahu, Bolsonaro or even our own little Pauline Hanson, which I cross my fingers and hope nobody outside Australia has ever heard about, as she's even worse than Scott Morrison (who is just hopelessly incompetent and corrupt). Populists always need a bogey man. Whether they be Jacobites, Huguenotes, Jews, Immigrants whatever. Something that the gullible can be manipulated into venting their frustrations against. Trump is if anything typical of his kind, nothing exceptional. I guess the US public just never had one of their own before? Disclaimer, not familiar with US presidents before Jimmy Carter. @BruceVC Face it, Banks are more universally hated, feared and distrusted than communism these days

The best candidate would be Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, except for the stupid age limitations in the constitution or whatever. It's like they only ever intended that position for white, old men Anyway, the speed at which Trump is tearing the US society apart, I think he's the one who is going to get credited with getting AOC elected as a counterpoint once she's old enough, simply because of the polarization generated in the US society.

...and this I think is really the biggest problem with the US "health care". It's ridiculously overpriced. I once shared a link showing price differences between common, essential medications (i.e. stuff for cancer treatment, diabetes, hypertension etc.) and prices for the exact same brand and drug were between 200% and 2000% higher when US customers had to pay for them. I guess it works on the principle, if it goes, it goes and lets see how much we can wring out of them before they croak?

Double post, yay me. Looks like the frictions between Turkey and Syria/Russia is escalating. I wonder what Trump will do when Erdogan comes begging for Nato support to help defend against the Syrian aggression against the Turkish troops stationed in the lawfully occupied territory of Turksih Syria or some such garbage? https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-51667717

Tell that to the 1.4 million Indians living in the UK (not including people who are of partial Indian heritage). There is a reason why London is having a reputation the best Indian curry in the world

I loved my Blood Axe clan in the old Epic40k. Who cares what the other clans thinks, humies got the right idea with the camouflage stuff Evil Sunz were my second choice for favourites, they really do go faster. If not, add more red paint.

May be old news, but my inner tinfoil hat guy wonders if it entirely coincidental that the Chinese government has a biological warfare research center in Wuhan? Someone forgot to put the lid on a specimen jar? Sold test animals to the local food market? http://english.whiov.cas.cn/News/Events/201502/t20150203_135923.html Edit: I don't care who gets the movie rights as long as Milla Jovovich is in it

Meh... now I suddenly miss the 80's... again...

Personal favourite is the C64 Comic Bakery loading music (yes, playing music while waiting for cassette based games to load into your computer was a thing in the 80's). Instant Remedy Remix:

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2020/02/fighting-rages-northwest-syria-turkish-troops-killed-200220131908647.html tl;dr; version, Turkish artillery started the fighting, paving the way for a rebel assault that broke through the Syrian lines in two places, Russian airplanes and Syrian army struck back. "The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said at least 11 pro-government fighters and 14 on the pro-Turkey side were killed along with the two Turkish troops." -
