  1. Salah ad-Din is a more accurate spelling anyways, if you are naming yourself after the 12th century Muslim general.
  2. I said none because I'm guessing it will mess you up in the long run. We can also do some pretty impressive stuff naturally if we train and actually stay active. I'd like to get laser eye surgery though, but just corrective, not super vision.
  3. Sammael, I hope you'll bump this thread as you update the website, as that will keep me checking. Awesome page, I hope J.E. goes through with it.
  4. I didn't think KotOR II was terrible because at least you could find information on what really happened. It was incomplete, but at least the ending existed somewhere, and I liked it once I read it online.
  5. As a previous backup, Romo is the more experienced snap guy than Bledsoe. Good times
  6. How do expansions work on consoles?
  7. And the guy who shot Reagan had it as well.
  8. Excellent passages, I think I'll go find my copy when I get home from work.
  9. Are you saying it was good or bad? I can see it both ways, really. I was pretty shocked at the ending, but after a couple days I came to appreciate the non-standard ending. I almost wish Indigo Prophecy had been as bold. Oh, Command and Conquer rocked with the ending! Hmm, all my favorite endings seem to involve a large explosion. Monkey Island II had a horrible ending. They tried to backtrack in the later games, but it completely destroyed the atmosphere of the game for me.
  10. Uh...you finished that game? Quest for Glory II was tough because it was a cliffhanger, and then IV took forever to come out. Both KotOR 2 and Bloodlines sent me running to the message boards because the ending seemed incomplete. I felt much better about KotOR 2 after reading all the cut stuff. To be honest, I don't finish a ton of games. I can't recall finishing any Final Fantasies. My favorites are probably Fallout and Dues Ex.
  11. The unreliable narrator is a difficult literary technique, and "The Catcher in the Rye" is bar none the most famous example of its use. In my opinion, the book captures the delicate mental state of a teenage boy quite well and has resonated with enough people to sell about 300,000 copies a year. That's an incredible feat that is only bested by the Bible. The ending really sums it up for me, but not everyone sees it the same way.

They definitely need to fix the "puck over the glass" rule. The player is trying to ice the puck, not delay the game, in a situation like that. It should be at the refs discretion whether the player is purposely trying to delay the game.
  13. Played Vanguard open beta a bit more, seems like it will be a solid MMO. Class variety and world size are plusses, and the graphics CAN be excellent. I say "can" because the game is still not optimized well, and there are some major clipping issues. I'm not sure if they really expect this game to be ready by January, but I'd say it's still another 6 months away from being solid. I'm only at level 5, so I haven't made my judgements on the actual gameplay.
  14. Uh, School of Rock is one of the greatest movies EVER. I've built my entire career as a teacher around that film. I could take him or leave him in every other role though. I can't think of any overly atrocious films he's done, but I haven't seen the Tenacious D movie. Nacho Libre was over-rated, but it wasn't unwatchable.
  15. I had fun with the demo. I just didn't see myself playing it for extended hous.
  16. The Vanguard beta, and I'm playing around with my new Sandisk MP3 player. It's amazing that I can transfer an entire CD off of the Best Buy music store in about 2 minutes, and it doesn't cost me a cent. After three months, it goes to a $15 a month plan, but that's pretty reasonable for me.
  17. Yeah, I'd say I love Alien and Aliens for entirely different reasons. One is a thriller and one is a great action flick. I love that they were able to take the fiction and create two very different approaches to it. It's a shame that 3, 4 and AvP weren't able to tap the same magic. I actually haven't even seen 4.

At the halfway point of the season, there is a chance that 5 western conference teams will finish the season with over 100 points. Does that seem crazy to anyone else?

Wow, the Sprint Center looks like it's going to be gorgeous.
  20. Again, people seem to miss the point that Saddam Hussein was seriously asking for it. It takes two to tango fellas.
  21. Saddam Hussein didn't exactly handle the situation well. If he'd been willing to work with the UN, there would not have been a war. He gave the US a great opportunity to attack, and they took it. Why hasn't the US invaded Iran, Pakistan, or North Korea? It's not because they don't want to, and they've got WMD's (Iran is close), it's because those countries maintain some semblance of diplomacy and make some effort to appease the UN. Iraq didn't work with the UN, and the US took advantage. Also, the US isn't trying to take over Iraq. They just want an Iraqi leadership that they can get along with. I think trying to force democracy upon the population is misguided, but it's not inherently evil.
  22. Agreed, it's a pretty ridiculous idea. The BSG universe itself doesn't really lend itself to a MMO. I can think of much better candidates for a space MMO, but I guess BSG is the only hot property right now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I can't wait for a Desperate Housewives MMO (w00t) <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sadly, there is a Desperate Housewives video game either in development or already out. I think it's supposed to play like The Sims.

  24. I'm pretty sure you can't choose any prestige classes until level 7 or 8.
  25. I gotta say, out of all the MMO's I've played, WoW feels the least like a time sink. That's probably because it's catered towards the casual gamer, and you can actually achieve something in an hour or so. But I've never made it to level 60, in fact my highest toon is 54. This isn't because I haven't put the time in, it's rather that I avoid any type of grinding whatsoever. Basically if I don't have an interesting quest to motivate me, I don't fight it. I'm also not the kind of guy that needs to have top of the line gear. My biggest goal is to look cool, and that really doesn't require a ton of time raiding. Enjoying MMO's is all about your mindset, and the people you play with.
