No doubt! I figured Trump had his base and there was nothing he was going to do to upset that. My guess was that as long as Biden pulled Obama numbers and not Clinton numbers, he would win. Turned out I was wrong on both accounts. Trump has added nearly 8 million votes and Biden has added nearly 10. Honestly it is a huge victory for the democratic process, and once the dust settles I hope that is the main takeaway from this election year.

The massive turnout would be a red flag if it only benefited Biden, I suppose. But Trump is going to surpass 70 million votes, way over his 2016 numbers and probably the 2nd highest total in history. Maybe it was just an important election? Maybe it was easier to vote with all the drop boxes and clarifications of mail-in voting? Maybe people are just bored during a pandemic? Nah, it's probably fraud.

Pennsylvania is enough to win and that looks pretty safe at his point, but it is pretty shocking if Biden takes Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada as well. This may have been super close in a couple states, but that could be a pretty big electoral college victory.

Even without calling the EC votes, Biden has almost 4 million more popular votes than Trump. That is the will of the American people. Investigations will be done and there will be recounts, but until there is actually evidence of fraud, this is a Biden win.

Each state is required to have an odd number of citizens.

Another thought, does Biden even run for a 2nd term if he wins?

What map are you looking at? Some of the states that rely heaviest on federal government monies are very red.

The only way you are going to avoid the current situation with the voting in the US is to standardize the system across the states and districts. This is a terrible idea though, because it opens up the election to WIDESPREAD fraud. Nothing that is happening right now is evidence of WIDESPREAD fraud. It is evidence of certain districts not running as smoothly as others. After a legitimate investigation is done (and not the twitter detective agency) it may even be evidence of localized fraud. That would be shocking, as the amount of moving parts needed to pull that off is staggering, but I suppose it is possible.

Nixon looked like the good guy when Al Gore did this, too.

Nevada is still being called for Biden because most of the votes left are Clarke County, and that is a democrat district.

Biden is going to end up with more popular votes than Obama received in 2008. That's a big surprise. Trump has more popular votes than Obama received in 2012. Another surprise.

@Guard DogYou keep mentioning that House seats are being lost by Dems and that is a Republican positive, but isn't that the same as what the dems did in the Senate? They are going to pick up two seats, it seems, but still not have the majority.

Honestly the voting numbers are rally impressive though. Trump is going to really outperform his 2016 numbers by a large amount. I certainly didn't see that happening. And yet you are looking at over 70 million votes for Biden, so I don't see how they can be disappointed.

Frankly, Trump already won the election. He said so, it must be true.

Let's also remember that Trump is the incumbent candidate. As much as Biden supporters might have wanted a landslide victory, the fact that it is close is still a favorable outcome for a challenger over the incumbent. I swear, constantly playing the underdog card as the president has to be the most annoying thing about this current administration. Ok...maybe there are some other annoying things as well.

I don't think it is fair to just say the Democrats didn't learn from 2016. It looks like you are getting record numbers of voters. Trump deserves credit for getting more people out than he did in 2016. Arizona swinging is interesting though.

He is winning in states with more votes. It is early though.
