I don't think the Leafs need Sundin at this point. Sure, he'd make them more competitive this season and maybe the next, but they should be rebuilding their team. Young guys need minutes. They need to master the defensive style that Ron Wilson is good at bringing to his teams. You are going to see your young guys get better defensively over the next couple years and hopefully compete for a playoff spot in 2-3 years. They seem like they are preparing for the long term, and as difficult as it is to let Sundin go, he's at the end of his career at 37. This will likely be his last contract, wherever he signs.

I played the demo and thought it was serviceable. Seemed worlds better than Gothic 2 in that regard.

I have an RV with a Dodge Triton engine, and yet it drives very different than a truck that uses the same Triton engine. Odd.

Gametap is 99 cents for the first month, but I have no clue what that translates to in Euro. It's $10 a month after that. You get access to the entire library for that price, which is pretty comprehensive. I'd say the best part is, like Good Old Games, they take older titles and make them work easely through the Gametap player.

Speaking of Gametap, STALKER and Gohic 3 are coming out on Gametap in December, two titles I'm very excited to play but never picked up in the stores.

Close to hitting level 54 in LotR Online. The Mines of Moria are just huge.

I kinda doubt he'll make the big club, but who knows? He's basically trying out for the minor league team, Worcester. I guess he also played for the China Sharks for a few games. The guy is 43 and hasn't played since '03, and the Sharks have a bit of depth. Still, he's a playoff guy. I think it's more likely he'll end up in management by the end of the season, like Ricci and Marchment. That Malone stuff is funny. I'll never understand guys who jump ship from heavyweight contenders to teams that won't make the playoffs. You are already making good money playing a sport, why go into a bad situation for a few more bucks?

Did you pick up Fallout 3 yet, because that is my most recent one. I like the lights off and the headphones on when patrolling the wastes. I also found Fable 2 to be fairly atmospheric and original, although it wears a bit thin after a couple hours. I'd probably say something similar for Bioshock. LotR Online has done a phenomenal job of bringing the books and movies to life for me. Entering the Mines of Moria was one of the best moments I've had in a game in awhile. I plan on picking up Farcry 2 down the line as well. I'm really excited to explore the Savannah of Africa, and I hear they nailed it. In the past, Wing Commander Games always drew me in. The ship combat and good cinematics were great.

I thought Steen was a decent young player? Stempniak sure doesn't seem like an upgrade, and throw in the fact the Leafs sent a d-man and you've got a fairly odd trade. Ah well, I think Stempniak is a grittier player, which might mesh with Ron Wilson's system better.

LotR Online - The expansion is perfect. I've moved into the Mines of Moria after a pretty frantic episode with that creature in the swamp. The Mines are insanely huge. I've only tumbled into one deep crevice though, so I think I'm ahead of the curve. I'm a stone's throw away from level 52, but I really have just been enjoying all the new quests, the leveling is just a bonus. I hope the next expansion comes out within a year, I think it will be Rohan. I also think they'll add that big forest with Cate Blanchett as a free content update down the line. But for now, I've got plenty to explore.

Wow, thats a really great idea. I wish WoW did that. Not because I mind changing gear, thats the carrot of WoW, but because it sounds so cool. Can you give a few examples of traits that you can apply to weapons/armor? It's almost too complicated to explain, the write ups don't do justice to the way it ends up working. You recover an artifact and take it to a master craftsman to identify it. There are certain properties already given to it, maybe ice or fire damage. Then you can use scrolls to give it a title, and the title also modifies what damage it does (westernesse, dwarf-iron, etc.) Then you can insert three items to enhance the stats. The items can be swapped in and out (although I think it destroys them when you swap out). I went with a strength bonus and a couple other things. Then it levels up as you kill stuff. Each level grants certain bonuses to the stats. The weapons are all class specific, so many of the bonuses enhance my skills.

I think that was where I switched off my brain and settled in for just staring at her latex covered body for the rest of the movie. I thought that was Ultraviolet?

Man, you should see the Everquest model. They release an expansion every six months for $35. At least WoW has only made two expansions and has released plenty of content in between those. Of course, I just paid $80 for the LotR Online expansion. But I got a shiny ring with it.
