Bringing up anal sex when discussing gay marriage is always a head scratcher for me. It really has nothing to do with it. In fact bringing up sex in general when talking about a lifelong commitment to another person shows a lack of understanding about what it takes to have such a relationship.

LOST was more about the journey than the destination though. The ending was bound to disappoint many. Which is really what people should do with the Mass Effect series as well. Don't let the last 10 minutes ruin the previous 80 hours.

Huh, I'm surprised he is so unhappy with Greenlight. I guess he envisioned it as something better, but I thought it was a pretty good way to get indie developers spotlighted.

In some ways Half-Life as a series has been the highest end of storytelling in games, it's not perfect obviously, and there was much improvement from Half-Life to Half-Life 2. In your universe LOST was not a pile of ****? LOST is fantastic, but I understand some people didn't enjoy it. What I don't get is putting Half-Life on a pedestal. It is a great shooter with very good cinematics worked into the game, but it's a pretty meh story. It's definitely not original in any way, which can't be said about LOST.

So in your universe, Half-Life is some sort of high end storytelling and LOST is lowest common denominator drivel?

The guy was confirmed like two weeks ago, yikes.

Also the widescreen mod makes the game look a lot better.

I don't care about Day 1 DLC, as long as you don't put the DLC vendor in my camp offering his quest for 900 Bioware points

If you are desperate, Jason Demers just came back from injury for San Jose and can put up points. He doesn't get a lot of minutes, but with Brent Burns out he might be a surprising scorer.

Obviously it's going to divert from the whole book concept, but it looks like it might be a great zombie movie in its own right.

Comparing any small nation to one large nation that is basically 50 smaller ones is fairly silly as well.

It was a very entertaining superbowl, even though my team lost. Ah well, back to hockey and waiting on spring training. Bought my tickets for a Beerwalk that is happening in Japantown this weekend. It should be fun!

I assume most people in Japan are killed with ninja stars and samurai swords.

Yeah, I went with a male warrior, then a male rogue, and both fell flat a bit after I got into Kirkwall. female mage seems to be the way to go.

You have a long time to go, kickoff is 3:30. I havent even started my appetizers yet.

The best PS3 game I bought recently was NBA 2k13. You dont need to be a huge basketball fan, it is just a fantastic rpg where you build your into a superstar. Just finished DA2, planning on playing some more LOTRO this week.
-
Ok, after two previous failed attempts to get into DA2, I gave it another try. This time it managed to keep me engaged. There were still quite a few moments where I had to suppress my brain from really thinking about what was happening in the story, but there were a few things that kept me going. First, I played a female mage. The game really seems geared towaes this, as the templar conflict is much more interesting from the perspective of an apostate. Second, I enjoyed the whole sibling rivalry I had going with Carver. In fact the game is quite good with rivalries in general, crushing that elf girls dreams was also pretty good. I hated blood mages and I never dealt with demons, and it was rewarding. Third, I really enjoyed Fenris's story, and his dynamic with my mage. It was a challenge to keep him on friendly terms. So yeah, there were some major problems, but I do enjoy the universe and I am glad I finished it. I will buy DA3 and hope that they fix the more glaring issues I had with the general storytelling.

I tend to drink a cup of OJ in the morning, and maybe two cups of a cranberry type juice over the course of the day. The rest of the time it is water. Soda is a rare treat, maybe one a week or so on average.

What is your trouble with M&B Warband? If you need some direction, choose a nation to side with. Any one of them will work, basically you find their king and start doing quests for him and any other of the lords you want. Eventually you will get your own villages and should have a pretty sizable army. Also go into every tavern you can and recruit the NPC characters, they level up, don't die (although if you are captured you have to find them) and make a huge difference in your abilities. If you are still struggling, start a character from a noble family. It makes the game progression move much faster. Just realized you are playing the demo, so I have no idea what that offers. I can say Warband is a huge and complex game that I've sunk a ton of time into.

Really don't understand, how driver license can protect you from road accidents. At least these licenses purely useless for 37 000 peoples who die every year in crashes. You'd have to compare those numbers to a similar country without a licensing process to have them mean anything, Oby. As an aside, numbers have declined quite a bit (close to 10%) over the last 7 years or so. California is crediting a much more difficult licensing program for teenagers for their decline, which extends the length of time they use a learner's permit. Because of this most teenage drivers are closer to 17 in California before they can drive alone or with young friends.

The key to peace lies dormant in the body of Wals! Upon his death, rays of lights will blast out and engulf Palestine in sunshine and butterflies!

But the problem is that once they're voted into office by and large they serve only the interests of corporate lobbyists. Sure, if the public makes enough stink they'll act to avoid being called out during the next election, but day-to-day they're far more interested in who's giving away dollars. Oh I completely agree. Far too many of our representatives suck at actually representing the people who vote them in office. I just don't know what would be a better system. I mean I'd love to limit lobbying powers, but there already is quite a bit on the books to do that, and yet big business still finds a way. As for a true democracy, it's just unfeasible. I don't have time to sit on committees and read through a bunch of federal stuff to make informed decisions on public policy and budgeting. Unfortunately the people we vote to do that don't seem to have the time either
-
On a local level, the US is very much a democracy. You vote directly for what is happening in your local community. On State and Federal, we rely more heavily on representatives. It's not some conspiracy, most citizens don't have the time to constantly vote on everything that happens in the country.

Millions of licenseless drivers? No, try again. Most of the illegal immigrant drivers stick to the backroads and drive super slow to avoid ever getting pulled over, by the way. I live in an agricultural community in California, I see them quite regularly. But on my typical commute to work and back on the freeway, I'm dealing with licensed and insured folks at a very high rate. I agree a license doesn't equate to driving skill, but it does create a system of accountability. There is no reason that guns can't have the same accountability.

When the government restricts something that is a clear and present danger, that serves the best interests of the people. Driving is a perfect example, I would definitely not be comfortable getting on the road knowing there are tons of people without licenses. Driving is dangerous, when I put my kids in the car I want to know that the people driving around me are qualified. Does that offer me 100% protection? Of course not, but it is tremendously better than no protection at all.
