What's on the idiot box... Part 2
I watched the first episode of Arrow and was impressed. I'm adding it to my watch list.

The Tex Murphy games are my favorite ones that used FMV, but they had the perfect lead actor for that.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Hey I respect all companies for their choice of making money instead of making relevant and smart video games. Ugh, who am I lying to... Yeah, no. Obsidian and inXile I respect. I've yet to see a good game from them. What games they made so far - I dropped them after 1 hour or so. But I have a very good feeling about Torment and PoE. I love Troika I guess. You can love dead things, right? I know this is a bit of a schtick for you, but I don't really see why you would play games at that point.

We are living in the Golden Age of video games right now.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
EA is a very large company, so generalizing the entire corporate culture as a sweatshop is a bad idea. It is safe to say that they've had development houses in the past that were badly managed from an HR perspective, but I haven't heard any horror stories from EA in a good number of years.

Play Ball! the 2013 Baseball Thread
I do grin a bit to know that Carlos Beltran came up short again for a WS title. I know he's a nice guy, but he's pretty much got the worst luck out there when it comes to winning a ring.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Any time people are throwing around wishes for bankruptcy and using cancer as a metaphor, you can probably bet they are overreacting. When the subject is video games, it's even more ludicrous.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Because they are the cancer that is killing RPG genre. Hooray for the melodrama

The Kickstarter Thread
I found a kickstarter game on my kindle called Star Command, decided to give it a whirl for $3. It's a pretty fun game, has some very neat features and is like a close up version of FTL. But the combat is super slow and I hate the minigame aspects.

Age probably has a lot to do with it. It would be pretty hard to explain to the doctor that I've lost my edge. It's not like I'm struggling physically on the ice, I'm still playing well. I just haven't found the back of the net. Same with work, I'm getting everything done. Maybe I should stop taking estrogen pills.

The rollercoaster thing doesn't work for me, I hit my late 20's and now they just make me sick. I've been struggling with doubts about my abilities lately. There has been a rather sudden drop off in my ability to score goals in hockey. Sometimes I feel out of place in front of the classroom this year, more than ever before. I also have had some odd thoughts about my wife's fidelity, despite the fact she doesn't even have the time to step out on me. It's been weird, I just feel off my game. I started trying to work out more regularly to deal with it.

I'll throw in my vote for Far Cry 3, it's a pretty fantastic game. My kids really enjoyed watching me speed around on a jetski trying to kill a shark, only to get eaten by a second one when I dove down to skin it.

The Kickstarter Thread
It's actually best that I pledge and forget, that way it's like a surprise when the game finally comes out.

So you are going to pirate Farcry 3 because you are too impatient to wait for the Steam sale? Don't worry, I'm sure all of our resident DRM activists will come to your defense.
