  1. What map are you looking at? Some of the states that rely heaviest on federal government monies are very red.
  2. Day 3 and this thing is still pretty messy. These mail in ballots sure take a long time to count.
  3. That is about a million times better than the generic confederate one they had before. Nice.
  4. The only way you are going to avoid the current situation with the voting in the US is to standardize the system across the states and districts. This is a terrible idea though, because it opens up the election to WIDESPREAD fraud. Nothing that is happening right now is evidence of WIDESPREAD fraud. It is evidence of certain districts not running as smoothly as others. After a legitimate investigation is done (and not the twitter detective agency) it may even be evidence of localized fraud. That would be shocking, as the amount of moving parts needed to pull that off is staggering, but I suppose it is possible.
  5. Nixon looked like the good guy when Al Gore did this, too.
  6. Nevada is still being called for Biden because most of the votes left are Clarke County, and that is a democrat district.
  7. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1876_United_States_presidential_election Rutherford B. Hayes has something to say about that.
  8. It's a good thing we have all of these twitter detectives to sniff out massive voter fraud conspiracies in this country. What would we do without them?
  9. Biden is going to end up with more popular votes than Obama received in 2008. That's a big surprise. Trump has more popular votes than Obama received in 2012. Another surprise.
  10. @Guard DogYou keep mentioning that House seats are being lost by Dems and that is a Republican positive, but isn't that the same as what the dems did in the Senate? They are going to pick up two seats, it seems, but still not have the majority.
  11. Honestly the voting numbers are rally impressive though. Trump is going to really outperform his 2016 numbers by a large amount. I certainly didn't see that happening. And yet you are looking at over 70 million votes for Biden, so I don't see how they can be disappointed.
  12. Frankly, Trump already won the election. He said so, it must be true.
  13. Let's also remember that Trump is the incumbent candidate. As much as Biden supporters might have wanted a landslide victory, the fact that it is close is still a favorable outcome for a challenger over the incumbent. I swear, constantly playing the underdog card as the president has to be the most annoying thing about this current administration. Ok...maybe there are some other annoying things as well.
  14. I don't think it is fair to just say the Democrats didn't learn from 2016. It looks like you are getting record numbers of voters. Trump deserves credit for getting more people out than he did in 2016. Arizona swinging is interesting though.
  15. He is winning in states with more votes. It is early though.
  16. Come on, everyone knows Boris
  17. What are the odds they are wrong twice? https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2020-election-forecast/
  18. But isn't that what signing up for military service is? I mean that as a serious question, I am not poking fun. Also, thank you for your service GD.
  19. That's only for one thing on the ballot though. Most of the stuff we vote for is evenly weighed. People make way too much out of the Presidential election. Democracy at the local level is where its at!
  20. Is the joke that all bunnies are jerks?
  21. They have to be beheadings to count?
  22. That might have been the best case scenario, as Amazon has the deepest of pockets.
  23. The comparison to Rockstar is a good one, as it sounds like they have created a similar workplace. But yeah, they've always done right by their fans, for the most part.
  24. Yeah, you missed 13 seasons of stuff, so I'm not sure what you would expect. Pretty strange that you watched the whole thing, really. I mean, the season 13 finale ended with this: So...it isn't exactly just a horrible people being horrible show.
  25. Why can't both be bad? Last week I taught a lesson on satire and censorship and covered the Charlie Hebdo story as well as the recent teacher killing in France. But I did request that my students not kill me, so *fingers crossed* It's basically a 1st Amendment lesson. So it covers freedom of religion, speech, press, and protest rights. It's based on previous lessons about the Magna Carta and Henry II's Royal Court system. I also shared news stories about the NY Post and Twitter censorship of the Hunter Biden story, as well as last years actions by Blizzard and the NBA in regards to China and the Hong Kong protests. It's pretty hard to gauge how it went during digital learning. I think I may need to rework it, since it has become a bit overwhelming with all the crazy stories that I can use to teach it. And this week we started our unit on Islam, so the students all get to learn about a very different, non-secular way of life.
