Doesn't seem to be, according to the endless discussions over it. Although if romance is just a relationship like another, why would a game developper claim his game doesn't feature any ? Does that even make sense ? Of course it does. They are simply excluding "romantic relationships" from their writing, and probably including many "platonic relationships", "adversarial relationships", etc.

Which has nothing to do with what this guy is claiming was promised during the Kickstarter period....

Hope this is a joke. why would it be a joke? all other high profile kickstarters were courteous and went out of the way to make sure their backers got their game slightly earlier. What the hell are you talking about?

For what little it's worth, I genuinely believe that you're lying when you say that. Actions speak louder than words, and Obsidian's actions over the past year or so have strongly indicated that you see backers as nothing more than a disposable money source, that's become an inconvenience. Engagement from Obsidian has been by far worse than any other Kickstarter I've ever backed, and PoE is really the only Kickstarter I can think of that I regret backing. I can't help but compare Obsidian to InXile, who have been consistently exemplary, and wonder where it all went wrong. Someone slept through the last two years....

What, does your character have it stamped on their head? It makes a hell of a lot more sense to let such things sort out organically in the game world... On the wider topic: romance is simply a type of relationship. If you want your game to have intense and meaningful relationships between the PC and NPC (and indeed between NPCs), romance makes sense as a spot on the spectrum in many cases...
