  1. is jennai a boy or girl, because the name is a girl, of course this is Star Wars, but her avatar looks like a gender confused man...just wondering...

    'It's' a Transexual 'female'.

:o A possible match for Atton Rand?

    <shudders> Jenny Rand!

P.S. It would crack me up if there was some sort of easter egg with a character who was Atton's wife named Jenny in it! Doesn't even have to be alive, he could be a widower, but you pick up one of his journals or something, and his 'wife' Jenny is metioned in an entry! ROFLMFAO!!! ;)

Yeah. Kinda like the mysticism in those Cassus Fett datatpads:

Jenny Rand - Is she dead...or is it alive?

*Reveals twist/shocker that Atton Rand really is Jenny Rand*

    :p:lol:

That can be the twist for KotOR 2  It's certainly 'dark' enough to suit CA's tastes!

  3. Dual-wielding seemed to be the way to go in KOTOR.

Yes, but it takes true devotion to kill Malak with a single blaster and no force powers.

True devotion and some Thermal detonators :p

Nope, nothing but mah Gehohardan Assassin pistol. And I still pwnt him. <_<

  4. If you haven't read about that, if you went Dark Side as a female and were involved in a romance with Carth, he would confront you on the Star Forge and you had the option of being redeemed by him and destroying the Star Forge with you and him on it to save the Galaxy. Bittersweet stuff. Unfortunately, it never made it in game.....but that's an example of a 'good' ending that doesn't make me want to gag.

It's all about the RP'ing, dude. While it's too bad that didn't make it into the game, I experienced something similar on my third (or was it fourth?) playthrough.

My female jedi had been sinking more and more towards the Dark Side as time progressed. When she found out that she was Revan, it got even worse. One thing led to another, and not before long, she, Bastila and Jolee (Our dear Cath was already ten feet under) were standing on top of the temple summit.

Well, it got all rowdy-dowdy with Bastila wanting Revan to join her, and my char agreed. But she couldn't strike down Jolee. She just couldn't, considering the many talks they had shared, etc etc etc. So eventually she rejected the Dark Side. The ending kinda spoiled things, but it still felt better than the usual, flat "goody shoes" character people are so fond of playing- it felt like I RP'ed something with more depth that time, so to speak.

Gray endings roolz. More of them, I say.

lol, I'm glad I'm not the only person who did that. My first game, I started out lightside, when I found out the Jedi council had lied to me midway through though, I went uber-Dark as I was pissed off at how they played me....but then when I got to the temple summit, I just couldn't strike Jolee and Juhani down, so I ended up with a rather greyish light ending. :p

  5. The psychology of relationships that incorporate dominance and submission are fascinating.

I think they're more honest, and usually more healthy despite incorporating what can be considered "deviant" behavior.

That is a conversation for another time.

  6. The trick is to make the fight difficult from tactical point of view. But this requires both clever AI and good design - I doubt if Obsidian will make it.

Would probably be an ungrateful task with the engine they have at the moment. Enemies line up to the left, friends to the right, there you go, start hacking and slashing at each other. While having other limitations, isometric 3D actually offers a better tactical view for games, where you can expand your one dimensional combat into two dimensional combat by having "depth" and manouvres (spelling?) as part of your tactical options.

Is Isometrical 3D like Dungeon seige where you can take an above view and zoom in or out to see your characters up close? I found that one well designed from an ease of management of your party point of view. It could have stood to have more choices when it came to character stats though, rather than just having whatever weapon/spells you use automatically level up depending on how much you use them. <_<

  7. I thought it was too easy on the regular game setting but I turned up the difficulty and it presented somewhat of a challenge for me. But overall I think it was much too easy.

Okay. Well, aside from the question at hand in this poll...would it be a good or a bad thing to have a ratio of 2/1 Jedi in the party? I think it would make it even easier, and be stupid. But I'm just me. Also, would it be cool for Mission to become a Jedi at nineteen, or should she just be a force adept type character? Thanks for all the input guys. ;)

  8. I'm guilty of voting Don't care... ;)

They could remove more of the combat of they wanted to, it was just a tedious distraction from the story and the game.

No bonus points for guessing like I like roleplaying better than combat games (unless of course, you consider Kill Bill style combat games as roleplaying :p )

As long as it comes with a combat difficulty slider where I can adjust combat to suit my casual attitutde towards combat, I'm perfectly fine.

Yes, but the combat is a part of the roleplaying. Am I alone in the fact that I want to have to choose between one option or another, and inherently make my character weak in one category, but strong in another? KotOR did this yes, but in the end it made no difference because you were so powerful anyway.

The only way I found a challenge in Malak with combat set to hard, was using blasters and no forcepowers. <_<

  9. Okay, MGnails my supervisor on the AE mod are having a disagreement and saying that most everyone thought KotOR provided a good challenge. I'm telling him that I've seen many, many posts that say otherwise; but because I don't have time to dig them up, he's saying he doubts that they're there.

So, answer it once and for all, was KotOR too easy? <_<

  10. You may need to use a proggie to map keyboard/mouse keys to gamepad buttons ie. get the gamepad to pretend to be a keyboard.

I think Logitech or a few gamepad/joystick makers give you software to do that with the drivers but if you don't have that you could "use the google" to check out Joy2Key :)

I found it reasonably easy to play KotOR with the mouse mostly.

Having to hold mouse buttons to switch to "pointer mode" so often was a real pain though.

The Logitech Wingman Rumblepad comes with a special software package that allows you more mapping functions in just about any combination you could desiere on it. I'm not sure if KotOR is supported by the software though, it would be worth looking into; since it's outside of the game.

Either the corded or cordless version, they're both the same, minus the cord and the extra money. :p

  11. You're dead. You just think you're alive. The white lady is the only one who can see you because she sees... wait, didn't someone suggest this already? Okay, how about you're not really a Jedi at all? You just think you are.

Actually Maria, before Tyrell puts on his holier than thou guise and flame blasts you, this is the 'ser-i-ous' twist thread. I can dig up the spoof one again if you'd like though. ;)

P.S. I did think the post was funny though.

  12. Speaking of Tribes... How does a game like Halo compare to Tribes 2 ? Are they similar ? Completely different ?

I tried Tribes lots of years ago and Tribes 2 a few years ago at a net party. The game was awesome. Actually having to walk on your feet without a jump pack has sucked in FPS's since then

No, no jetpack. But on several levels you do get a Banshee, which is like a jet fighter. :p

There was also a Jetpack in the Jedi Outcast Omnimod. :D

  13. Correction, it's nice when people take a significant amount of time to write THEIR OWN FAQs for people to benefit from, this plagairized POS doesn't deserve the light of day though, I say we torch it to hell.  :D

    Spelling Buddy Sez:

    plagiarized

And yes, toast it to heck.

Thank you spelling buddy, I knew that word, mere typo. And Spelling Buddy, you spelled 'Says' wrong. :p

  14. I wouldn't classify calling someone a dickwad polite. Though it's accurate to a point. Interesting how many insults aren't insults when you think about them.

Check the context. Quotation marks around 'politely' and followed by flame. Hence it wasn't neccessarily polite, but it was farely mild as flames go. ;)

For me, it was at the whole 'Revelation'-part KotOR 1 peaked. But for my girlfriend, it was definately the romance (Eventhough she wanted a romance with Canderous instead, Carth was way too much of a p*ssy :p )

Never underestimate the power female consumers  ;)

Hear that Obsidian, not all fems liked Carth. I'm sure most of them would be perfectly happy with a more rugged Candyman style love interest. ;) ;)
